I CANT TAKE ANYMORE !!! :mad2: :censored: :bad-words:  So after everything going on with my car this week Last night some chavtastic little :censored: !!! Decided it was a nice night to go round the whole estate, breaking into EVERYONES (almost everyones) car including Lees G60 on the drive, wierdly they took the stereo front out of the drivers door pocket (you really dont need to tell me this is a bad place to keep it) they removed the usb stick from it and left them both on the back seat ???? Took the first aid box out of the back seat and left it on the front passenger seat ???? left all the tools in the boot ???? took the money out of the ashtray (about £15) and took the ashtray?????? which also had the tools for removing the stereo in it and the locking wheel nut key, but left the stereo ???? rifled through the glove box and found ..... my tom tom :( again, I know stupid place to leave it, the good news is its about knackered anyway, it wont hold a charge and struggles to keep a signal, so tonight I'm gonna wait up to see if the little :censored: is brave enough to come back for the wheels !! I have changed the locking nuts so the key is worthless to anyone, and I had a wander down the street earlier found 2 smashed up stereos and Lees ashtray which was thankfully ok and is back in the car. The really really wierd thing is they made no damage getting in, the drivers door was still locked and just the passenger door had been opened  Oh and both of our staffies have been sacked for not telling me that some arse was rooting through the car !! .... Thank god this week is nearly over and I can start a fresh tomorrow, H

Hi, I had exactly the same problem with my 8v, yes they have factory fitted immobilisers (if you split the key theres a chip in there) Mine had an aftermarket immobiliser fitted because my insurance company quote "didnt recognise factory fit imobilisers" :cuckoo: and the two off them did nothing but conflict with each other, I had the aftermarket one removed, also the guy picked up a fault on my ignition switch so I had a new one of those fitted (it cost me I think between 10 n 20 quid from vw) and had no problems since :D In my opinion for what its gonna cost you to have your old alarm ripped out and a new ignition switch, its well worth a try, Helen

MuckinFunkee replied to VR6's topic in Site Comments and Questions
Ooo just noticed this thread ... Thanks to.... Robsgti for the speedy delivery of a set of cracking rear in pros Dub_nut_g60 for the corrado script mud flaps, they make a nice subtle difference to the back end (and more stuff being delivered this week  ) .... be back here when the rest of my stuff arrives (I spend too much money lol!) -
Ill bet a caramel kit kat chunky that it was Mort ... I saw a black one going northbound between j 25 n 26 off the M1 bout 4 this afternoon, as I was going southbound, had crystal rears on

omg ! thats properly random, hope it aint been munching on engine/light wires !!

Hi  Where have you been hiding? rang u the other week see if u needed any help with the work on yours, offer still stands if you do, am doin the discs and pads on best m8's 300zx tomorrow, theres plenty of space on the drive for you now mine is in the garage for 2 weeks !! :pale: I hope im doing the right thing repairing it too, im going down the lines of better the devil you know ..... ?
-
Yikes !! didnt mean to upset you, the entire end of the crank is shredded, I will ask him to save it and will post a pic of it
-
Hi Dan, (and everyone else) thanks for your input, I have just been to the garage to see it, its a right mess, the keyway is non existent, I looked at your before pics and went "cor I wish mine looked like that" lmao! the timing was 3 teeth out !! At least now ive seen it with my own eyes I can apreciate how bad it is, wish I had taken a pic of it to show you, but I just stood there open mouthed, was looking at the cam belt while I was there, thats in a right mess too, doesn't look like its ever been done! its nearly as smooth on the inside as the outside, the water pump looks like its gonna fall apart if you sneezed on it, so perhaps this is a blessing in disguise, at least it is fixable its still at my garage, the guy has pimped the crank work out to an associate of his who does specialise in dubs used to work for vw and owns 2 g60's and a golf rallye, so quite confident about him I was thinking about it on the way there and have decided to stick with this engine, get it fixed at least then I have piece of mind that its as sound as can be, Dont plan on having another car for ages so its worth it in the long run, gave him a grand while I was there (that hurt lol!! :pale: ) and said ill bring the other £500 when I pick it up, which should be about 2 weeks, you know if I get it back and the supercharger or summat goes im gonna push it off a cliff !! Anyway im off for a bloody big glass of Jack daniels ... make that a bottle (I have no car for 2 weeks might as well take advantage lol  ) Thanks again H x

I was wondering this too, then thought what if I do that then the same thing happens again ..... I was thinking maybe if I get this one done at least I know its good for a while, not sure what to do tbh

:pukeright: :bad-words: :pale: :pukeright: :pale:   :pukeright: Just had a call from the garage, I think he is trying to push me over the edge, I'm gonna have to nip down there and see how bad this crankshft actually is because, he says it has to be replaced, its £250 to regrind the new secondhand one (or £362 for a brand new one from vw) about £800 labour :pale: and he is saying while its apart because its done just over 100k he will have to check the clutch and possibly replace it , valves for burning ????, shells ??????? and something else that is associated with them ???? definetly change the cam belt, pulleys, water pump, oil n filter change (I did one of these bout 6 weeks ago) basically I'm not bad for a girl where cars are concerned but he has left me behind (wtf r shells????) bottom line he says its coming in at about £1500 :help: thats without vat :brickwall: :brickwall: :brickwall: ....... anyone know anybody interested in a 2ltr 8v for sale, I said I wasn't gonna part with my other one, but now it looks like i'm gonna have to :( :( :( I have just discovered its possible to feel sad, annoyed, sick, bewildered, stressed and downright :censored: ed off all at the same time ! Its not a nice feeling, H

Hi, I got ones of the ones you are on about from euros for a 2ltr 16v as everywhere else was out of stock and I was desperate .... that was 3 yrs ago .... and it went in fine, worked fine and still does .... dont blame me if its not fine though lol ..... just my exerience was a good one ... stop panicing and start taking your dash out !! :pale:
-
You also appear to be awesome  I shall get the car back and go see steve Thanks, H

no multiplayer, will have to wait for the full version, :( is there a release date yet?
-
Dan vw you are awesome !! :notworthy:  The good news is you were spot on with your diagnosis, so a big piece of chocolate cake for you the bad news is the guy at the garage said the the crankshaft is really worn so needs a new one, the really bad news is just phoned the stealers and they are £352 .... :pale: :pale: :pale: :pale: garage guy says you can get a new pulley and use metal repair paste, but theres no guarantees this will hold, and he said its not the best idea anyone any input, or got a crankshaft lying around ?

Green c this morning heading out of maltby, rotherham towards m18 at about 9.15, didnt wave cos I was it the works van and it was way too early to be confusing you lol Theres also a black one parked up at the bottom of Byron road maltby, I see it when I visit my friend who lives on there.

Hi, thanks for replying, I will mention that to him tomorrow, I really hope you are right, I have visions of it being a new engine or supercharger, just shocking how its gone from fine to s**t in so little time
-
Hi, not quite sure where to go with this but I am nuff depressed ... Thursday - took G60 from Derby to Rotherham & back - ran sweet, never missed a beat Friday - just went to work and back, about 6 mile round trip - no probs Saturday - went shopping, complaining to husband that car has a strange knock coming from supercharger side of engine and wont accelerate properly and feels what can only be described as "like its holding back" Sunday - supposed to be meeting people and going for a drive, got about 300 yds before the car decided it didnt want to go above 20 mph and threatened to cut out everytime you dip the clutch or try and accelerate Monday - towed the car from Derby to Nottingham to be looked at by the Garage (if that appears on "spotted i'll die of shame ) Tuesday - Garage rings, now this is the garage I have used forever and trust implicitly, quote "Hi Helen, dont know if this is good news or bad news but I cant find whats wrong with your car, now it will just tick over for a couple of mins before dying, im having it recovery trucked to another garage who specialise in dubs (again if this appears on "spotted" im gonna die) and having them have a look and put it on their diagnostics machine" Wednesday - Who knows, I darent answer the phone tomorrow !       Anyone had this or similar before, or can share any ideas at all, Thanks, a very very very sad Helen x
