had one fitted to a 1988 mk2 16v along with a magnex stainless system and managed 150bhp on RR between exhaust and power rohr and drilled air box gained 11bhp over standard 139bhp....so gains aint massive but looks nicer and will give smoother air intake over standard item...and very slightly more induction noise if you drill air box as well...either way a neat mod to add to engine bay
-
cant imagine be any different like i say a mk2 16v runs a kr engine same as early 16v corrado's was later corrado that had 2.0 9a engine could well be slightly different and wont fit 9a engine but kr engine weather its in a corrado or a mk2 or anything all the same
-
should do its same engine 1800 16v kr engine so should be straight swap over...

how many miles do you get on full tank 2.0 16v 9a
bobbymkII replied to bobbymkII's topic in General Car Chat
cheers for quick reply ...so im looking at 2 full tanks to U.D and back and maybe a bit more....better get my flexible friend out for the fuel bill then  could be worse one bloke we are heading down with has passat w8 and the other a passat r36...so im sure there fuel bill will be far worse  400 is pretty decent my mk2 golf 16v 1800kr was lucky to get 300 was more like 280...but much smaller tank than the rado... cheers for info folks and roll on U.D -
just wondering how many miles you get out of a corrado 2.0 16v ???? as had the car about 5 months and never really had a long road trip in it and will be taking it to Ultimate Dubs from perth in scotland works out about 400 miles or just under that...will be driving at sensible speeds most of the way there and back.... cheers bobby

alright folks i have magnex cat back system on 9a 16v...my problem is i want to do away with section of exhaust that goes from cat to up and over axel to delete the big mid box that sits just in front of axel so i have straight through pipe and just a back box if you know what i mean... had this on 1987 mk2 16v and was magnex but cant find it anywhere????????

only want a half cage as like you say full cage just add what a remove...going to strip doors down next as they weigh a tonne  and see what else can be lost like front seats for 1 single light weight seat ... forgot to add engine mod wise has kr cam fitted k&n panle filter and few drilled holes on wing side and front... magnex cat back system and decat pipe..nae idea what power that give me and dont care it goes well..for a 16v 8) recorded 142mph on test track on gps with 200 rpm till redline and ran out off runway :) no other plans to do anything else to gain bhp or torque as will be fun enough once it sheds a good few pounds and make a fun track/road car... but any other advice on rado 9a 's fire away...
-
had this car about 2 months or so.... pics from when i bought it to current in order.... day i picked it up couple days later slammed it... then some sanding and painting and polishing wee pic so far had some bad laquer peel on bonnet so sorted that  matt black beside mates nugget rado now some weight loss :hitler: more to come...as need more weight loss as going track car route ...also a rear cage 8)

so temp im running shouldnt be a issue really  ...will do oil change tomorrow and coolant see if it helps bring it down a bit...
-
can you not bend door at top and get something to pull up door pin????? usualy just enough to get door to flex out at top and pop lock..will set alarm off as it should...but should get you door open and get ur keys...alarm off jobs a good-en.... try calling ur insurance company as if keys in car and parked up its at high risk of being stolen so its in there interest to sort it
-
right ive onwed more mk2 gti's than ive had hot dinners....and usualy oil temp on motorways ran at about 85-110 depending on driving conditions etc the rado i have is a 2.0 16v 9a engine has kr cam fitted ....oil temp around town sits at 100-110....on motorways its about 114-118...this seems bit high considering i havent gave it a proper driving as yet.... my mk2 16v when gunning it can reach 118...but if you slow down to say 60-70mph and stay at constant speed...it climbs back down to 90..the rado just stays there same temp 114-118 or there abouts or town driving 100-110.... is this normal temp of 2.0 16v rado to run???? or dodgy sensor....or needing fresh oil???? cheers bobby
