Audi has something called Project Anniversario to celebrate the anniversary of...something. Yes, well the anniversary would have been Audi's centennial this year (2009) but the project has been delayed somewhat due to the financial crisis that has hit the automotive industry. So what Audi is planning for Project Anniversario is a super S5 Quattro for 2012. The car will likely take some inspiration from the old Quattro S1 Rallye in terms of styling and may come with a twin-turbo juiced V6 with somewhere around 425 bhp or a variation on the current TT RS's 2.5 liter, turbocharged 5-cylinder, dialed up to about 400 bhp. The new S5 will be lighter, shaving about 240 kg off the standard S5, and weighing in at about 1400 kg (3086 lbs). This will be achieved by using light-weight body panels, shorter overhangs (like on the Quattro S1 Rallye) as well as lighter parts for the drivetrain. The artist's rendering features wings, bonnet inlets and a rear spoiler, all who's design is influenced by the S1. A reliable guess is that the Project Anniversario S5 will make its debut sometime around the end of 2010, as a celebration of the original Quattro's 30th anniversary. But the car won't make it to showrooms until the following year as a 2012 model. im thinking if this is a go ahead from audi i could well drool and dribble for many years to come possibly even ending up with a addiction for high octane fuel few on a drip

Scottish rado's... where are they all???
bobbymkII replied to rosswalker's topic in General Car Chat
think thats me added details....and nope aint changing my name cos i will be having another early small bumper mk2 16v ...well maybe depends what i can make of the rado...could well be alot of bits for sale soon as considering track car the rado so be some serious weight loss going on get weight down to almost same as mk2...cheap and easy way to gain power...and seen a few rado track motors ...they seem to do very well :hitler:  :norty: -
to be honest its not a patch on a mk2 16v kr in terms of peformance....but before you all stab me  ...the rado is a far better put together car and much nicer and smoother to drive even on its hoop...im going to raise it slightly but not much...maybe 1'' will do so i can really throw it into the corners on the track once its poly bushed and some g60 brakes....going to get proper decat fitted and buy a new/used cat to put on at m.o.t time....apart from that nothing serious...handling and brakes far out weigh out right power especialy at knockhill
-
needing a decat for my 1993 2.0 16v 9a engine....it currently has magnex cat back system...so looking for best website etc to get a good fitting decat pipe.... and to buy a new cat for m.o.t time best place ???? cheers bobby
-
if car has a cat fitted wont ever pass emissions test on carbs...unless your building track car and only for track...you will struggle to get a m.o.t august 1993 is from when it should have a cat...if ur pre august in that year ur happy days...if not..ur buggerd unless m.o.t bloke is going to stick probe up somebody else car at m.o.t

no my splitter is that low...its angle of pic that makes look like a slope...my drive is as flat and level as they come...only issue is splitter scrapping on some roads depends on camber of road etc...but apart from that it drives and handles really well....going to get it poly bushed as well tighten it up more in the corners and get some g60 brakes for it...and braided hoses and squeeze some more life out of the engine... i must say its my 1st rado but ive had 6 mk2 gti's and the mk2 gti 16v kr kjet is a far quicker car and revs much better than the 2.0 9a...but hopeing a few mods will sort this out ...rado feels more like a cruiser than a sporty number...still its my only complaint as the rest of the rado is far better than a mk2 gti ...but im sure if you stripped a rado out for the track make some difference as the amount of weight it must carry with all the electrics

put suspension down as low as it will go front and back...not a single rubbing issue... ...small animals between the head lights will get a nasty susprise :lmao: anyway heres some pics...and those who question fk coilovers for rusting and going solid...stop being a light weight get into it with a hammer and 2 tins of wd40 and 4 hours later bingo...you get it on its hoop... pics... wish i could get back lower but thats as far as it will go

went and picked this rado up tonight it a 2.0 16v 9a with kr cam and magnex exhaust....113000 on clock so just run in...and bags of history to back it up...and every thing works...even sunroof... has some laquer peel on bonnet and a small coolant leak...but i love it...drove from glasgow to perth and it was a dream... big thanks to jaye for helping me out with lift and advice :rthumb: owe you a huge beer(again ) anyway heres pics from phone of it parked up at its new home.... first mod is to see if coilovers will move and if so will be dropping it a bit more... 2nd mod fix coolant leak 3rd mod get painted 4th mod get 50mm inlet 5th mod drive it like it should be driven  but this time with a wee bit more ease cos aint breaking this i love older vw's like its my own child :lmao:
