  4. fuel problem is in process of being sorted started work today while i await new pump comming.....see below... right finished work so being nice weather dug oot some joinery tools to remove fuel pump....as im joiner not mechanic...and no mechanic tools would be any good as screw heads gone with rust... tools of choice: Car of choice: set about hacking away round the screws to remove plastic round them coooon of a job knuckles fooked...but out she came.... happy fooking days....... now left with big hole like this: i await new pump arriving...should be easy going back together..... there she sits awaiting the new lease of life.... to be continued with swear words once pump arrives

  8. looking to get new inline fuel pump for 2.0 16v rado....reason i ask where from and whats best as they vary in price greatly from £200 down to £86????????????????? i say vary its a case of bosch 200 bucks other brand 86bucks...is the bosch fuel pump over 100 bucks better???? can you get them cheaper than 86???? gsf only do intank and eurocarparts is 170-180...ebay is 86 or 200 bucks??? help me out point me in right direction and not the vw dealer cos i can imagine what there price would be lol ---------- Post added at 08:30 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:20 PM ---------- its cool sorted now
  9. quick thank you to g60knight for quick delivery of the intank pump etc cheer bro..... right i replaced that and is defo the undercar pump....ive removed bango bolt easy job done......but then as per usual on a old vw the screws that hold the pump in place 3 of them are completly rusted beyond anytime of screw driver removing them...... my question is this plastic retainer thingy that holds the inline pump in the slot ...does this come with the new pump??? and the 3 screws???? or be orderd seprate???? reason i ask is only way im removing this is by either heads of screws then pliers to remove remainder...or old chiesl and break the retainng plastic holder thingy...lol...its only way its comming off... if anybody has this part im talking about and screws fire me a pm... cheers bobby ---------- Post added at 07:44 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:36 PM ---------- its cool fellow rado nuts i have found the answer ... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VW-Corrado-Golf-GTi-1-8-2-0-86-96-New-In-Line-Fuel-Pump-/180446552607 going by pic the plastic case is attached so just need screws....slowly i get there ---------- Post added at 08:29 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:44 PM ---------- hold that result g60knight about to pull me out another hole...cheers
  10. nice rado...keep you busy but be worth it...i went from year after year of mk2 golfs to corrado...i still miss my mk2's but theres somthing about a corrado....
  11. mines not a vr but a 9a 16v and last summer drove to telford from perth scotland at steady 70mph and returned 46mpg this was due to having wife as passanger who does not like to be any faster than the limit on the road..best id seen before that was 36mpg but still i didnt buy a rado to get good mpg figures ...im wanting a vr now that ive had the 9a for 2 years...
  12. the lower fuel pump silver can like object has the 191 number on it...i know u say 191 is mk2 but remeber the car shares alot of mk2 bits ...same with under the car the fuel pump etc and pipes are same as mk2 16v and early mk2's as i used pipes off a early mk2 8v as templates for new ones last year...hence a few 191 numbers on rado's ...cheers for offer but somebody beat you to it have one on way for same price ...but i also going to get the fuel pump for under the car as well and do both as all the noise was from under the car no the intank pump ...but the intank pump wasnt reading fuel correct so no harm in replacing the lot ...just desprate to get the car on the road again with good weather we are having although matte black weather doesnt matter...lol
  13. it is same pipe as mk2 golf 16v on kjet...as same set up underneath also early mk2 8v's have same set up not the new'r dij mk2's ..
  14. i removed mine took down to company called pirtek((national company)) they made me up a new pipe same for £8 used same old banjo bolt etc just cleaned them up for me on brand new pipe....it is a pain in backside to remove due to age but get it caked in wd40 and just keep at it it will come off eventualy....or do what ive done before on a old mk2 was cut pipe in half it makes it easier to remove and then persist with the two ends attached the banjo bolt end was my pain but once pipe halfed i was able to get into it better and get it moving...but seriously you could even drive ur car to local place that does fuel lines and industrail pipes for hydrauclics etc...or failing that search the net as there is a bloke who makes them up new but charges about £100 if i remember correct ...hence reason i used pirtek or try a company like them its not a hard piece of pipe work to be made up...mines was also made with stainless flexi so could bend it anyway i like to fit beter than origanl
  15. took mine out today it looks like this and has part number 535919051 on the top part where ele/plug point is and on the bottom silver fuel pump/filter it has 191906092AB on it.... whats wierd is i expected the float part to be broke as my fuel gauge when full shows full for about 40-50 miles then drops to zero...but i filled a bucket to test it and it floats like it should???? strange...i assume the wires maybe knackerd if its been in there since 1993...lol...anyway the above pic is what im after asap... i deleted all my pm's by accident cos im daft like that who ever it was that pm'd me with one for £25 posted can u pm me again so i can get details for payment cheers bobby p.s. a piece of pee to remove hopefully going back in is as easy and should fix my none starting probelm fingers crossed

  19. i know i need a internal pump as well as the fuel gauge has been all over the place and also makes noises...but again have no idea where you buy these internal and external pumps any links to websites etc be gratefull or a number to call as can fit these my self just need to be able to buy them...doesnt help cars been sat for 6 months over winter last time i do that as needs to be used everyday,, ---------- Post added at 04:15 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:53 PM ---------- is the internal tank sender/pump the same as on other vw models??? like mk2/mk3 golf vr6 golf and rado???? as there is a mk3 16v one on ebay???
  20. looking for the pump lifter/sender unit that sits inside the fuel tank for a L reg 1993 2.0 16v i stay in scotland but happy to pay postage cost so if u got one in good working order drop me a pm as have cash waiting
  21. wheres the best place to buy the fuel pump that sits under the car on drivers side before rear axle as mines has just died today been making strange noises when it primes like it was old and tired and today makes same noise but car wont start so i assume its had its moment....so where best to buy good quality and decent price....
  22. anyone got weights of g60 steels with 195x45 and 195x50...reason i ask is i remeber changing to g60's on a mk2 16v at was best car handled and drove had rainsports on 195x45's and felt miles lighter than the 1900mims i had on... as im currently looking for either a very light 15'' rim or 16'' if i have to as saving weight on rims is far greater gain than stripping cars out
  23. looking for fuel sender unit that is in working order....as my fuel gauge doesnt work unless tank 100% full then after 30-50 miles drops to bottom... so looking for full fuel sender unit that sits inside the tank feeds fuel and reads fuel gauge as well...no idea tech name but im sure you know what im on about..... cheers bobby pm me if u have and how much will paypal all cost involved
  24. will do sure there about the £20 mark ..but you never know with the local steeler and vat upto 20% still better with the vw than made in afghan by a 3 year old
