Hello G60Renshaw and welcome! 8) I have actually spoken to you years ago, aren't you part of the Dub'olox crew along with Scott (Caged), Simon etc - all run/ran really sweet modded Mk1/Mk2s and a red Rallye iirc?.... You had the Pirelli Edition Mk1 on ATS Cups....absolutely mint car, looked superb!!! Love the TT dash btw, fancy doing one into my Mk2???..... 8)
-
Looks like a good meet. Some nice cars, seen Sukh phat-boy C before, but that Green B16 PVS one looks awesome!! Whose is that!!!??? 8)
-
As long as you put the Ford seats onto Corrado or Scirocco subframes, they do not sit too high. I know because I have a set of full leather Sapphire Cossie recaros in my mk2 Golf.....and I'm 6'1"... 8) Oh, and they'll be for sale soon if anyone's interested?...
-
Sukh, your car is looking sweet as!! 8) Probably catch up with you and the guys at the edition38 show....

I like both the Azev A and C on Corrado's - they look so good esp in 17". Also, a fan of deep dish and split-rim style wheels so phat 9x16s look good along with Porsche Cup style alloys. My all-time fave rims on a C have to be the Porsche Cup splits as previously seen on the UPS Corrado (I think he is running multispoke Porsche 18" rims now!) Here they are..... Lovely!!! :thumb right:

My fault John, even though I wanted one I didn't actually get round to writing a cheque out!! DOH!! Maybe next time, eh?.............
-
John> have you sent these bars out yet?.... :?:
-
Yes, good luck Darren! 8)

You don't have to hack any foam out? If anything, the Corrado seat is narrower than the Golf's............I have one in my Mk2. I made up a bracket to bolt the base of the Corrado backrest, and this is bolted to where the lapbelt (not required due to rear armrest) goes. Matey-matey is a good guide. HTH
-
Don't forget, once you've found the desired height to get the camber/geometry setup correctly... HTH 8)

The Stealth Racing 2.0 conversion uses an EIP Racing (from US) forged crank, Ross pistons, shot peened rods etc. I know because my mate had just built one - he sourced the parts and Stealth put the engine together. It's in a Mk1 Golf, and also has a custom Rallye-spec i/c, R1 G-lader (brand new!), Eurospec ported head, Shrick cams..........still running it in, only done 1200 miles on it, but after final setup Vince reckons should be a reliable 260bhp!! Oh, and it's his daily driver!!! Beavis> Steve, it;s the silver Mk1 at the Poachers Pocket meets. 8)

John, I'll have one of those clay-bars, clay-bars, clay-bars!!!! (ok, I'll get me coat!)   You have a PM.

One thing to be aware of is as been said already, your choice of wheels may be restricted due ti size if caliper. AFAIK, the only 152 rim you can fit over the Brembos is the Compomotive MO (Rallye style 5 spoker), and even with 16s you can't run low offset ie. deep dish wheels. On the plus side, these brakes fit under Porsche wheels no probs!!! 8)

Darren, good luck with the venture! I might be in the market soon for a custom IC for a TT transplant into a Mk2 Golf if you can help?... 8)
-
There's one on the PVW Classifieds. Quite rare second-hand tho, a mate managed to get one at Inters last year from the Autojumble for ..........£460!!!
-
IMO you'd be better off doing a 20v transplant. Use a TT225 lump, cable change box, DTA management, Rallye or Golf G60 intercooler and a few other bits n pieces and you'll be looking at 250-280bhp and should be able to do it for about £4k I reckon?..... My mate has done it to his Corrado, and it was good enough to win its class-sprint on both days at Inters!! HTH
-
I think you can buy H&R adapter kit to go from 4x100 to 5x100. HTH
-
Get all your wiring stuff from here...... http://www.vehicle-wiring-products.co.uk HTH
-
I think they may be replicas made by Mille Miglia (hence the made in Italy badge), and the low offset as afaik genuine Porsche wheels aren't available in such a low offset. HTH
-
My mate has a 225 Audi TT lump in his Corrado, built by Stealth (he works there!). He's used DTA management, Rallye Intercooler, and is actually using a Mk3 Golf 16v cable box. Mapped for 265bhp and 298lbs-ft, won sprint class on both days at Inters - 13.5 qtr and 5.1s to 60. 8)
-
Nimbus grey, tan/baseball colour leather retrim, TT dash, polished TT competitions, and slammed would look awesome IMO! ...oh, and sell me your Borbets!!!
-
Wouldn't it be cheaper to get some genuine Audi doors with handles intact from a scrappy?.. Even if the door is damaged/glass missing etc, as long as the handle and mechanism could be cut out you would save a lot of money IMO..
-
Hi Darren Doesn't really include labour as the car is owned by one of the technicians so it was done in between work for 'paying' customers. I think if you can get the engine/box/intercooler/pipework etc fitted, then Stealth will supply/fit/map the DTA management inc rr time for about £1500 IIRC. HTH

Personally I think the 16v G60 is the more expensive conversion. The 20vT is more readily available and is easily mappable/upgradable. Talk to Vince at Stealth - the TT Corrado they have built has approx 270bhp/300lbft. Main ingredients: 225 TT lump, Rallye intercooler, DTA management, G60 gearbox - total is prob near £4k I think.... I suppose it depends on how cheap you can pick up the bits for! :D
