  1. Very nice mate. So what are the plans?
  2. Car's lookin well smart mate. Met u at the Yorkshire meet I was in the aqua blue one and travelled down from Tintwistle with u guys from Wigan . Know what you mean about finding home bodges all over - and just when you think you've got them all sorted you find another one :? Least its in good hands now
  3. Lee if you're still having trouble with your locking wheel nut we've got a tool that worked on my focus today. Tyre place couldn't remove them so wanted to charge me £50 to drill out. Remembered we had a tool at home that I could try 1st and after a bit of desperate searching i found it. Luckily it worked great 1st time... Let us know if you wanna give it a try and I'll come round with it... If you wanna call or text us my number is 07977 427 345 Also, the key you're after, I don't think they need to be programmed. All I needed was the correct shaped blank and then get it cut. Cost me about a fiver once I had the correct blank...
  4. Hi Lee, Glad you've finally got yourself one mate. This car was advertised £4995 when my dad first spotted it a couple of months ago. It looks like you've got a good one there once you get this little problem sorted...
  5. Cheers mate they do suit the car I think. Back on the speedlines again though till after winter now. The car was in need of a wash on these pics. Think the brightness of the sun helped me out there lol
  6. Tried my new wheels on last week just to see what they looked like on the car. I was so impressed with them I couldnt resist taking it out to get some pictures :) These are the 17" BBS RXiis I bought off Andy (C5 OEM) a couple of months ago. passat climatronic wiring diags.pdfPicture 330.jpg[/attachment:1uhaakev] climatronic wiring-Golf from May 01.pdfPicture 325.jpg[/attachment:1uhaakev] 2.8l 24v Climatronic system.pdfPicture 326.jpg[/attachment:1uhaakev] Picture 328.jpg[/attachment:1uhaakev] Let me know what you thimk... Cheers, Kev
  7. Thanks man yeah I remember you and your 1 series. Nice car but you'll have to leave it at home next time and come in the rado :norty: I'm really liking the stance at the moment but I think I can afford another 10mm or so drop at the front so might give it a try this weekend. Still trial and error at the moment - I'll get it aligned once I've got beam, exhaust and wheels on. As for the beam, I just happened to mention to a lad I know that I was looking out for a rear beam at the Leeds show and his mate overheard me and offered me his for a ton - all cleaned up and painted ready to go on. He was selling it coz he's recently changed his mind about the look he wants. Shame he's not on here - his car is unbelievable.
  8. Thanks Jon lad. Yeah 288s are tempting - I was thinking 312s for when I eventually put my new wheels on but that means no longer able to use the speedlines and that would be a shame as the car looks so good on them now they're darker 8) (just in my opinion) so 288s and braded hoses perhaps as another alternative
  9. Cheers mate, Bout time I found a bargain. Just adding up over the weekend and turns out the car has cost me £9500 so far including purchase price but not including insurance tax/MOT or fuel...only owned it 14 months... It's really starting to look the part now though and I've got 1 or 2 more bits n pieces on the way very soon
  10. Just bought a pair of brand new, still packaged roof strips as mine were letting the car down slightly - looked ok on the surface but were worn badly underneath. Here's a pic of the new ones... climatronic wiring-Golf from May 01.pdfPicture 317.jpg[/attachment:1dg4tszh] Picture 318.jpg[/attachment:1dg4tszh] Also bought a newly refurbed rear beam off a mate who no longer needed it. It's had new bushes and been blasted, powder coated and painted in silver and came with the brackets to fix on with - all for £100 - he never even fitted it to his car. It was a very lucky find. Here's a pic of it all... 2.8l 24v Climatronic system.pdfPicture 319.jpg[/attachment:1dg4tszh] I've bought new bolts also as I can't bring myself to put new parts on with old rusty bolts I'll take some more pics of it when it's getting put on - in the mean time I'm gonna have to source a bentley manual Cheers Kev
  11. Looking better everyrime I see it mate. Some really nice touches you've made all over. Especially the new wheels and the engine bay 8)
  12. Nice one Jon it's getting there mate, slowly. Yeah I tried to get him to bring the mk1. Maybe next time
  13. Thanks Andy. That means a lot. Had my fair share of problems but it's finally coming together. Can't wait to get those wheels on and 1 or 2 other bits I've been buying 8) they'll move it up another level! Long way to go before I'm rivalling you though
  14. Cheers Kip it was great to meet you guys yesterday. Thanks also for the jack :salute:
  15. 16. My parts arrived through the post today after paying for them over 2 weeks ago. They were spot on though. Can't defend this guy if others have had bad dealings with him but from my experience I'd use him again. Delivery was slow but it was posted out to me on 13th August (I've seen the receipt). It took the post office 10 days to get something from the west midlands to Manchester. I was ready to re-post on here slagging him off but now I feel guilty about that. Just my experience Cheers Kev
  17. I've got mine working now. Not perfect by any means - they don't take over the lift of the bonnet until it's almost fully lifted, as I had to mount them closer to the windscreen end of the bonnet than the instructions suggested (approx 25mm closer) to stop the other end popping off the wing too soon, resulting in reduced leverage. They're strong enough to support the weight of it though once it's lifted and they do look very smart so I'm happy enough to keep them on as they are. I'll get a pic up later on to show you what I mean
  18. I've been dealing with this guy also. I ordered some rear light plugs off him (via pay pal gift) and they arrived promptly and as described. I thought he must be reliable so I ordered some more bits. Sent money on 7th August, again as pay pal gift. I waited a week then asked him if he'd sent them yet and he said he only gets Monday's off but had to work that Monday so would post the next week. I asked him this Monday if he'd posted and he said yes he had. I'll let you know when/if they arrive... Cheers Kev
  19. Cheers guys. Yeah I got the feeling the Passat b4 estate was the most common conversion, but with slight alignment issues. The Ibiza sounds interesting. Is it the '95 model, that rings a bell from another thread I read Thanks Kev
  20. Hi everyone, What exactly will I need to convert my '93 VR6 sunroof to a Passat 'Moonroof' Apologies if this has been covered somewhere else but I've done a search and couldn't find anything distinctive enough to go out and start buying parts so I thought I'd ask the direct question to get clarification. I've seen a few conflicting answers i.e. B3 Saloon, B4 Estate, Mk3 Golf, and a few others, but I've read through a few threads now and it seems there's good and bad points for each. I'd like to know what works best and what parts I'd need to source like the glass, the seal, the motor etc. If anybody can help with this (maybe even supply part numbers) it would be very much appreciated. Thanks very much Kev
  21. Just bought the Mk 3 bonnet lifters (Jom ones) from Venom, and followed the instructions in the wiki guide on here but I'm having trouble getting them to work properly. Mounted the fittings on the wings but then when I lift the hydraulic arm up it pops off the wing fitting way before the point the top mount should go according to the wiki, so I've fitted it at a point just below where it wants to pop off, which is 50mm below where the wiki shows, and it seems too close to the hinge pivot-point to be of much use. The bonnet will not self raise at all from this point, but when fully open it will stay in that position. Also, because the body of the lifter was hitting the next wing mounting bolt, I've had to fit them the other way round i.e. thinnest end towards the windscreen. I'm starting to wonder if these are now made thicker than they used to be or supplied with different end fittings, or have venom simply sent me the wrong thing? (Would not be the 1st time) I can provide pics of what it looks like if it would help... Thanks everyone for your help Kev
  22. Hat's off to you mate! Just read it from start to finish and it's all very impressive. Maybe I'll try and tackle some of the things you've done one day since you make it look so easy :notworthy: Not that I don't love my car, especially as it's been so well behaved lately, just seeing stuff like this makes me a bit jealous  Anyway keep up the good work  cant wait to see what's next
  23. Looks great mate. Wish I could get that stance on mine :notworthy: Have you had to have arch work done?
  24. Car looks way better for it mate and I'm just as particular so I'll prob end up taking even longer than you did  Whole car looks ace :notworthy: I'm gonna have a go at this and the all red rears this weekend :norty:
