  1. Thanks guys! 3corsameal You're right mate that's one of my fave pics of the car. Cheers for the compliments on the wheels mate, big plans for the bbs's in summer! C5 OEM Thanks Andy. Gettin constant inspiration from you and your lovely motor all the time. Come round and see us on Sunday mate be good to catch up again. Fla Cheers Hasan. Costs are spiralling out of control now but at least I'm seeing some benefits now, not just fixing things lol
  2. Hi everyone! Just a quick update with some pics of some new parts Ive been sourcing over the past few weeks and months... I've been preparing the car for the new rear beam I bought off a mate last summer. Got it up on the axle stands and got everyting off ready for cleaning - beam, exhaust and heat shields. Underneath wasn't in bad nick - just in need of a good scrub down. I found Halfords Gunk, an old toothbrush and about 10 hours scrubbing seemed to do the trick Here's one my dad took of me hard at work... 1) me under car I've finally got round to replacing the rear brake back plates too. I couldn't put that new shiny beam on and bolt those rusty ones to it lol. Ive gone for aqua blue to match the car as the standard (thin layer of) black paint wasn't up to much. 2) old / new back plates Here are a couple of the underneath as it looks now... 3) under car & exhaust tunnel Apart from the tank looking a little scuffed and worn, it's come up pretty good I think 4) tank & toothbrush See, I wasn't joking about the toothbrush :-) This next lot cost me over £150...Unbelievable really! 5) bolts, clips & brackets Brake disk back plates, brake regulator, rear hoses, bolts, clips and brackets for various things Here is one of the new brake regulator in place 6) beam & brake regulator And last but not least, the icing on the cake, a highly polished (about 15 hours worth) Magnex exhaust ready to go on. 7) exhaust More to follow soon when it starts to be put back together... Hope you like so far. Comments always welcome. Cheers, Kev
  3. Gonna have to pull out of this as I'm ready for them now. Gonna have a go at making my own or find somewhere local to do them. Thanks anyway
  4. Ok mate cheers, I'll have a look at the pics when you get time to put them up and go from there. Thanks for the update.
  5. Hi Chris, When you say 'rad cradle' are you referring to the rad support beam? If so what is the condition regarding rust? I'm also after the heat shield above the rear silencer (the very last heat shield) in very good condition if you have this available? Thanks, Kev
  6. Nice work Andy. Hope mine comes up that clean when I do my rear beam. New paint looks stunning too.
  7. Andy don't sell mate. I know how you're feeling. Remember my A-pillars just after the respray? And the oil cooler after the new radiator? One thing after another. I wanted to smash it up! But once I realised how much I'd spent so far I had to carry on. And now I'm so glad I did. Can't wait to get back in it now, even though they'll probably be something else to fix soon as I do lol. You've put way to much time and effort into it to sell now mate I think you'll regret it in the not too distant future...
  8. Alonzo  Been to collect stuff on 2 occasions and both times have come away with a real bargain. And a load of freebies thrown in... Really nice guy who knows his stuff and is more than willing to help and offer advice
  9. Hi Alex, I'd be very interested in a full set if I could collect from Kip. He's not too far from me... Thanks
  10. I'm still waiting too :censored: Have they been posted yet???
  11. Yes thanks. Can't wait. Sorry for the tone of voice used earlier :cuckoo:
  12. I'm proper fuming about this. I even offered to print my own if the guy could be bothered to email me the file but still nothing. If I could get hold of it I'd run enough copies off for everyone who didn't get one who'd paid. I wouldn't hold my breath though looks like he's disappeared for good now :mad2:
  13. Hi mate, As I still haven't received my calendar, and I ordered 2 so I have lost out big time, I wonder if you could email me the file? I work in the print industry so I could print my own out. If we can work something out that will be great - at least I'd end up with something out of the deal... Let me know Thanks, Kev
  14. Not yet. Fingers crossed they'll arrive soon. My auntie works at royal mail at the main Manchester depot near me and she says people will still be receiving Christmas cards as late as Feb they're so snowed under (the awful weather last month left them miles behind) so I wouldn't give up on them just yet...
  15. Really sorry to hear that mate especially now you've just had all that top work done. Hope you can get it sorted soon. Are you gonna go for the vibra-technics one? I was thinking of gettin that done in mine at some point but reading this has made it a definite before it gets driven again.
  16. Is there any chance they'll be more of these made in the future if I've missed the boat this time? Cheers, Kev
  17. Not open to general public, but it's pretty easy to become a member if you or anyone you know works in government or education or post office, or self employed etc. they can have an account set up and you can be added onto their account and have your own card. They're good for tyres too - only sell Michelin's but they're not bad on price.
  18. I got mine from Costco. Bosch silver plus for £55. Also comes with 5yr guarantee. Got one for the mk1 golf as well and it's the same price...
  19. Good to see it back in one piece mate. Now go lock your tools away 'till at least March
  20. Can you put me down for 2...if I'm not too late Let me know payment details :salute:
