  1. Here you go Goldie .It was an ebay purchase , the seller seemed to check out ok .As someone said in one of the blogs ''why sell a fake at that price?''its not worth the bother . I did do some research first .Im pretty sure its original . I used the Vostock wiki guide, Vostock guide and the Russian guide to watches . The early ones will have USSR or cccp on the dial, but not all .More modern ones have Bostock europe on them . The problem is you can never tell if its been messed with , you can only go on what the seller says . But for £42.00 i will get another one if its not right !. The right ups give them as good watches robust and keep good time . I did look at east german watches but there is talk of them not being to good . Although the dreary regime stretched right across the the eastern bloc and everything was built on the cheap the Russians were better at making things . I like the Yuri Gagarin watch that was made to commemorate the USSR going into space , it features his face and a rocket on the dial . Im a bit wary of fakes when it comes to this one though . For what they are worth you cant go wrong really ,i think the guide says between £30.00 to £150.00 for most of them although there are special ones that go in the thousands .There are new ones on the bay but it does not hold the same appeal to me .Some of these have KGB written on them , so are just novelty watches .If i could find one in the future from a reputable dealer that had documentation or proof that it belonged to an Kgb officer i would have to buy it .Not that i condone what they did ,i must stress that .It was a terrible time for those trapped behind the wall, but its like anything to do with any war, films 'regime ,whatever , the baddies always have more appeal . For example look at what an SS officers uniform costs compared to a a british uniform .
  2. Ive just bought a Vostoc . Made in the USSR , late 70s early 80s . Its a military divers watch . This was cheap as chips . No where near as good as Omega or Rolex standards , but i have an obsession with the cold war , so its my sort of thing .
  3. Oh n not to mention the door membrane is leaking again , how ,i have no idea .
  4. Perhaps i tempted fate commenting on your splitter scuff . I scuffed mine today . My car is not low either .
  5. The car looks great Sean . I will be looking into the above products in the new year , as mine is in need of a good detail . Shame about the splitter i hope its not to bad mate .
  6. Works great on the Mac , but the phone is giving me problems . I looked and where says free app (get) , I click on them to install and they want bank details ! Er no thanks . Where's the free ones Gareth ? Could you point me in the right direction please . Regards Rob
  7. Is there any contacts in Germany to ring Sean , Maff ? .
  8. Ok will look into this Gareth . It was not like it yesterday ? And never had a problem before .
  9. Ad block Gareth ? Do there's no cross to click on to remove the ad , like on YouTube n things . When I finish work I will see if it's the same on my Mac . They used to sit in in the middle before .
  10. Yep I'm on an iPhone 5 too . To check replys n stuff I have to click on the forum link , then click on where I posted . I can't see the new posts link at all .
  11. I don't know if this is just on phones , but the ads that normally sit at the top are now right over the links you would click on . Bit of a pain .
  12. I will get the others on the case too . Chris Langers , Rob Mann , Matt butterwith (Dell boy , headlight switches ) and Dave Buckler .
  13. Looking forward to seeing it one day . It's come such a long way since you bought it . I can just picture the geezers face you bought it from , seeing it and recognising the plate and thinking , wow look at it now !
  14. Not done much since you bought it Sean have you .
  15. Not sure how many are left . People have them for sale on ebay . It's made from silver , they also came in gold and steel . Sadly it had a hairline crack in the enamel which is a shame but common of a watch of this age .
  16. not the best pic ,but you there you go . The interesting thing is , i rang longine in Switzerland and they told me who bought the watch from new and what his name was . He was Russian . After that who knows what happened to it ?. I bought it ,in a market in New York .
  17. Did you see the comment I put up about interest free credit ? . My mrs brother is into his watches and says the deals are great ATM .
  18. That's a lovely watch , It would be nice to have one , but I would hardly ever wear it with my job . It would proberbly get used as much as my car .
  19. I will stick up a pic , this evening Jim .
  20. I have a 1916 Longines trench watch , am I a bit out of date ? .
  21. Looks very nice Jim . I need to do my battery tray too . I'm in a similar situation , I've got most of the parts to do the underside and now skint . The beam is sat in the garden . Hopefully Aprils tax rebate should see me finish it .
  22. Great plans for the Rado Dave . Rocco looks nice too . Hopefully the mini meet will come off .
  23. A lot of the higher end company's are doing interest free credit now . Very good deals .
  24. As most of us know , this never hit production , too expensive , Yarda Yarda , ect . I think it looks ok , if it was a standard production car , you would be used to seeing it at shows , on the forum ect . Therefore it would be a bit more the norm . Not to everybody's taste I agree . If Ford never produced the XR3i in cab form and someone converted it , it would be the same thing . I know what I'm trying to say anyway lol .
