  1. Storms only came in Classic Green and Mystic Blue dude

Guess it was Mystic Blue then. All I know it was a very dark colour, looked black, and had a Storm badge on the rear!

I'm usually around yeovil in mine, what colour/type is yours?

I've an Aqua Blur VR. Actually live outside Yeovil so not often in town with it other than the odd occasion driving to work (such as today), not really much fun though... apart from the Tesco bypass! I'll have a lookout for you, whereabouts in Yeovil are you generally?

Usually driving along Lysander road really, go to Nuffield quite a lot and work in Yeovil too.

I'll be looking out for you too, haven't seen any other aqua blue vr's in Yeovil yet!

  2. My first spot! Saw a tidy black Storm :salute: in Yeovil at 1.55pm cruising past the library on wednesday. Just caught myself before I waved as I wasn't in my Corrado and that may have seemed a bit wierd...!

  3. I can't remember the fault code that came up, but mine had a very similar fault recently (the code translated to one of the outlets being faulty).

It turned out that there was a dodgy connection on one of the wires at the abs pump. Found by checking continuity between terminals at the ecu and at the pump, used the Bentley manual for wiring diagram.

  4. Abdul if your serious about taking the car to a garage so some guys can take the VR6-D0HC cover off for you then you have bought the wrong car, these cars demand maintenance and if you cant even do that you should have bought a kia.

oh yeh i have the plastic radiator cover if you still want it £10 posted, or i can fit it for an extra £30.

    ^^lol

  5. The water pump is usually more difficult to turn, the sound your looking for is like a skate board going down the road........................

    ^^exactly!^^

  6. It was the rear wishbone bolt, the one that screws straight up into the body..

Well the master cylinder bolts in place, just make sure it's tight and not moving when you press the brake pedal.. I'm sure it is ok but was just a thought.

Don't you just hate annoying little noises that keep you up thinking about?! I certainly do!

  7. Any possibility of getting a vr6 and also buying a cheap comfortable banger for doing the taxiing in?

Obviously difficult if parking is an issue..

I run a 500 quid carina e day to day and use my vr sparingly on a limited mileage policy, between the two the insurance isn't too bad and I save fuel and wear on the vr at the same time.

  8. Oh right, cheers.

It's funny, my vr has always idled nicely and is very smooth and quick. I think I may be tempting fate if I decide to convert to obd2!

  9. Hi all, I'm just curious about why exactly people do the obd2 conversion?

I've done searches on this and there is info about people doing it and info on how to do it; but not really any info on the real advantages of it.

As far as I was aware, the mk3 inlet is more restrictive and the mk3 ecu runs a less aggressive map? So by doing an obd2 conversion, are you not actually lessening the power of your car a little?

I may be breaking an obd2 mk3 soon, hence why I'm curious
