the bigger circumference doesn't automatically convert to MPH. What it does convert to is less revs for the same speed. (eg if you were doing 6000 at 150MPH then the bigger wheels will drop the revs needed to do 150MPH). The drop in revs may actually mean not as much power which in turn means you'll never be able to get to that speed in the first place. Assuming the top speed was 150. I'm sure someone will be able to word that better and give you better maths but that's a layman's overview. HTH

If you want to 'try before you buy' spray them with a foam cleaner, stand back and squint slightly. I just did this and was glad to have a hose handy! :) -
Back on Topic - I've got to change my bid - 140 indicated (just ask the fella in the Storm reg xxx VRG who was also there about 10 minutes ago - anyone know who that is?) and again there was too much traffic to find top wack. Big smiles though.

I think I've just found my new signature!

My ABS works (tested it using the kevhaywire 100mph wet slip road method) but I don't have the grinding noise. Should I feel worried/left out? :?

Don't believe all the rumours it was only a 7 birth, but it did have a sauna and swimming pool.

OK you got me - it was actually 200MPH at 8000 revs up a steep hill with a headwind and running on 2 cylinders with flat tyres. But I didn't think you'd believe it

I've seen an indicated 135 and climbing in the VR. That was until some clown was travelling in reverse towards me (it seemed). How rude - and on my own private M25 racetrack too. Allegedly.

Shouldn't it be in 'Off-Topic' with all the other jokes? (I think that's what Roy and HG would describe it as)

Not to my tastes - Black jeans and white socks? But hey - it's not my car. -
That was actuall £58.94 +vat. The new ones are a better design so won't suffer from the same problem.
-
Yep - here's the difference
-
£59.84 +vat from VW (so cheaper than the Audi part). I pick mine up tomorrow. Mine had self distructed big time.

£60 +vat from VW. I pick mine up tomorrow.

This evening on my way home my VR clocked over the 100,000 mark, which was kind of cool and not real good all at the same time. The Car decided to celebrate by letting off loads of steam (literally). The part that joins the heating to the cooling system appears to be the culprate. What is the part called (highlighted in pink) and does anyone know the part number and approximate cost? Thanks in advance.

Latest Sprinter - when did that get sent out? I haven't received anything ...

Just to add re: discounts. Some Dealers give discounts under a "parts for older cars" program. Unlikely that Lupo wipers would qualify but useful for Corrado parts (eg suspension, brakes etc) Lupo wipers do look alot smarter - I have just put a greater curve in my wiper arms to put more pressure on the blades. Works fine but doesn't look quite as good by comparison.

 I was considering the thread - "What's the most hijacked thread/thread that lost it's way, on the forum?" :D

It'd work out at about £2500 for the year for me. Out of curiousity I did a couple of trips to work the other week trying to drive much more economically. If I drove like that all the time I'd save about £500 a year. But who cares about mpg - I reckon £500 is a bargain for the added smiles per gallon. :D

I knew I shouldn't have started this - how much to make 1st picture a reality? Gulp.

Try searching for 'VR6 AND stalls' - might help.

Thanks mate I've admired your car before - looks in perfect proportion with that drop - very nice 8) . What's the ride like? What suspension do you have? Did you have the car before it was lowered?
-
1st pics of my car after 4 months of ownership. Having just replaced the standard rear shocks, I'm not about to spend money on lowering my car. However I did have a play with this pic to see what the result might be. Wish I hadn't seen it lowered as it looks great IMO. I reckon it's about the perfect amount of drop - :?: what do you peeps think that would translate to in real life - 60, 80, 100? They're the original 15" speedlines. Car is totally standard btw (including the original rust on the rear arch! ). *EDIT* - pics are in wrong order . ????

I nearly put my car into chapman's based on your recommendation but one thing and another it didn't happen. Happy I didn't now. I have a good Mobile mechanic who charges £30/hr and I get all the parts myself from VW. I'll just be getting Wayside to do an oil service (just to get the stamp in the book for resale purposes!) ad also because they're close to my work.
