  1. Mines cost me around £3000 on top of purchase price and has only done around 3 miles since I got it (not including the drive home) Is that excessive :) :D
  2. Better idea, being as your in Italy, buy an Alpine B10 twin turbo E34, known for whacking F355's and capabale of 186mph, if I remember right
  3. OK, thanks for showing me anyhow
  4. Cheers mate, tis a bit bigger than Im after, but can reduce the size accordingly, its the measurements of how it fits into the arch that matters. I can always reduce how far it come from the arch quite easily Thanks Phil
  5. Great, that'd really help Thanks very much Phil
  6. Interesting this, as thats exactly what I want to do. I carry fishing gear, and I need the left hand side of the boot clear, so I wanted to build something for the right .. did you custom build this, or modify it from an existing one. Would be very interested in the dimensions if you made it yourself, assuming it doesnt prtrude in the main boot area Cheers Phil
  7. The discs, carriers and calipers are all off a Fabia VRS. Im guessing there the same as Ibiza ones?? Maybe the discs are wrong??
  8. Definately Lucas, kevhaywire said that the later ones are Lucas, change in manufacturer I guess I gave DG Autotech a ring, and they reckon Fabia ones need the spacers, may have to change the backplate too. Might just shove the DG plates behind them, only problem with that is I cant put 15s back on .. doh
  9. Just fitted some later 288's (Lucas) to my Storm, but having problems with the wheel seizing as a result. Back off the Carrier and wheel bolts and its all good. Noticed on the 312 upgrade thread that they need 6mm spacers for the carriers. Do you need these for the 288s too, as that would explain the issue?? Cheers Phil
  10. Cheers, So that'll be 6mm spacers and spring washers then??

Cheers Kev, will have a look. Mine are off an 07 Fabia VRS, front and back Green to match the Classic green paint (well, not really, its a bit Kermit grren bright .. lol) But thanks for the heads up re the hoses, will have a look, started fitting the fronts last w/e, but had the usual issue with the hard hoses, so had to get new copper replacements which will be going on tonight hopefully Thansk Phil

    288 v 312

Interesting, just got some later Lucas ones, I take they fit just the same onto the Rado Vr6
  15. 1) Lancia SZ 2) E30 M3 - does that classify as a coupe :D 3) 635Csi Motorsport (or M6) :D :D - absolute class, next on my collection list if I cant get an Alpina B9 in rhd 4) Capri RS3100 5) Cossie RS500 Not sure if you'd get either of the last 2 for less than £20k but they wouldnt be far off??
  16. Tell me about it, sold my E30 M3 convertible in 2007 for £9.5 k, and now they'remaking top teens to twenty .. ah well, my E30 Alpina will be a good investment :D
  17. A bit, had a schnitzer E46, but it wasnt supercharged I'd really like a Schnitzer M3 E36 CLS. but they're rare as rocking horse poo :D
  18. They're bored, different cams, exhaust etc but not based on the M3 motor, they're based on the standard BMW 6 3.2 on the E36, 3.3 and 3.4 on the E46 (3.4 is the S) thing is with the Alpinas is the ride, they have an amazing ability to make a car that handles that also is comfortable Plus they're hand built :D You don't get the power of the M3 but they're the non chav option, and in the real world they're isn't any difference
  19. Nice motors, but I'd have an Alpina B3 over one any day of the week, as a package, its the better road car and nowhere near as common I've had 2 M3's and 2 Alpinas (one Ive still got, though its an old E30) and though I liked the M3's, the Alpinas were somehow just a little bit more special Just my own personal opinion, of course, but if I were to buy another E46, and Ive had 4, I'd have the Alpina
  20. I did mate, not worth messing with, to be honest, they're not mega bucks
  21. Superb, best car advert ever

    Brake Disks

Quick question re my brake disk upgrade Putting Fabia VRS fronts on (288's) and the rears too (which I believe are the same as the solid Mk4 ones) Im thinking I may as well change the disks while Im at it So the question is whats recommended, had a good troll through the posts and lots of people rate the Brembo Max from GSF, but they dont seem to do the Corrado VR6 rears (only the fronts) Need to source some new ones since I cant use the Fabia ones and mine are shot Any ideas ??
  24. No, theres no hole just a small gap between the ignition and the main steering coloumn, you fit the screwdriver between the gap behind the switch and wedge it from above, hence 2 people
  25. Just did mine yesterday, absolute bitch of a job. Managed it in the end by taking off the steering wheel and using a small thin flat blade screwdriver. One chap with his head in the footwell feeding it through the ridulously small gap, and someone else sitting in the seat using another flat blade to push the end of the screwdriver acroos to get it into the slot from above. Once in its only finger tight so no biggie The secret is definately 2 people, a thin handled screwdriver and lots of patience. I nearly took a sledgehammer to the car yesterdya, Ive got to admit
