Sorry for the rant but......:-( So 2 weeks ago i had fitted (by a garage) rear disks, pads and bearings. Today (less than 200 miles later) the drivers side rear wheel locked in place (thankfully i was just in front of a carpark barrier so only doing a couple mph). The RAC comes out and it turns out the wheel bearing has been worn away (he literally was scooping out shavings with his finger). Take the car to a local garage that was open (not where the work was originally done) and they have had a look and said that the bearing wasn't fitted correctly. Also pointed out that the passenger side was loose (they tightened that up for me thankfully). Anyway they can't do the work as they reckon the bearing could possibly be melted to the hub (i think thats what he said). RAC guy said he couldn't see any grease either (bearing cap was missing at this point). What sort of damage am i looking at? For myself and also to complain to the garage that did the original work. And also who would you recommend doing the work (around London)? Does it need to go to a so called specialist or should a decent mechanic be able to fix it? Any help appreciated

Hi, Do you have the plastic that covers the bottom half of the steering column? And are the tabs still intact? Also do you have the grills that go along the front of the windscreen on the inside? Lastly how much do you want for the handbrake cover? Thanks Krishen -
Thanks mate. Ordered off eBay now. Hopefully get a chance to do it this weekend coming.

Hi Just been to B&Q and also screwfix and neither sell them apparently. Smallest they had was 20mm Is the 13.5mm thread the length?

Assuming it is that bolt size can I buy it from any hardware shop eg B&Q?

Managed to get a new bracket (with the rubber attached) but what bolts do I need to attach it to the car? The old hanger bolts are rusted in place so going to have to drill them out and replace with new ones. Any ideas? Thanks.

Hi, Don't suppose you have a passenger side window regulator in that pile? Thanks -
In need of both the metal door pins as well as the plastic knob that screws onto it. Also need the round plastic thing that surrounds the pin (on the door card) for both drivers and passengers side. Thanks.

I grew up in Cape Town, (Sea Point then Rondebosch). Can't remember ever seeing a corrado while there but then i was young. Plenty of citi golfs though. I go back once a year to visit the folks so will try and remember to keep an eye out for you.

I popped down to Regents street around 6pm to check the cars out. Saw that 6 wheel brabus merc. Was immense. And even got a high 5 from the Hoff (riding on his Nissan GTR) Walked to the little side road where they were entering Regents Street and it was great. Less people, no barriers and most of the drivers were willing to rev the nuts off their cars to please the crowd. All in all a great evening.

Yes i spotted that as well :-)

what fixed it?

I had something similar and it was due to brake pads being "glazed". Basically had the hand brake adjusted a little too tight so the pad was constantly being pushed against the disk albeit very lightly. Literally just took the pad out, gave it a rub on a rough surface (pavement) refitted and it was fine.

Ill take the parcel shelf strap please. Pm me payment details. Thanks

I had a yellow ibiza cupra before the vr. And if being yellow wasn't loud enough it had white alloys :-) Absolutely loved it as did my mates (not so much the ladies). Never lost it in a car park and people see you coming so get out the way on motorways. However it took ages to sell on. Like has been mentioned it will only appeal to a small number of people. I would definitely buy another yellow or any other loud colour car again as long the colour suits it.

And is this from VW?
