    Steering noise

Hi all, isn't Corrado ownership a joy!!! My VR has just started making a strange knocking noise when steering, seems to be only on slow maneuvers (is that how you spell it?!) It's quite a loud knock & only happens occasionally, not constantly. Seems fine during normal driving. Any suggestions, please. cheers,
  2. The stuttering on mine seems to be the other way round - it's not too bad when the engine's cold, worse when it's warmed up! It feels like there is either too much or too little fuel getting through after the overrun (when I take my foot off the gas), so when I press the accellerator again it splutters for a few seconds & won't pull! Can get quite jerky if I'm heavy with the right foot!
  3. Does this erase any fault codes which may be stored?
  4. Hi all, I've got a bit of a flatspot when driving my VR & it's starting to really annoy me. It only seems to happen when I take my foot off the gas and then press the accelerator again, I'm getting a really bad hesitation where the engine seems to stutter & lose power for a couple of seconds & then it will accelerate out of it. Otherwise the car drives great. Could this be down to plugs/leads/coil pack, or is it more likely a fuelling problem? Any advice greatly appreciated, it's starting to spoil the fun! cheers.
  5. Yeah, I was looking at a Ramair kit on ebay with a £1 start, but it was for a Golf, wasn't sure whether it would fit or not. Ramair don't list one for the C, & K&N have 2 different part numbers for Golf & Corrado VR6 kits. I may just get a K&N from ECP if they're that cheap! Heard good reports about Green Cotton ones, anyone tried these? cheers.
  6. Hi all. I'm looking at induction kits for my VR (coupled with a Magnex or Powerflow cat back 'zorst) and was wondering if a 2.8 Golf induction kit would fit straight on the Rado? as not all manufacturers list a kit for the Rado. (In particular Ramair). cheers guys
  7. Leavon, I do like the Porsce Cup 3's, I've seen a couple of C's with them on & they look well. Does anyone have the definitive answer as to whether or not Azev A's (or Stil Auto Sigmas) will or won't fit on the VR6??? TT rims? How do you guys think the polished Competition alloys would look on a C ? cheers, Robbo
  8. Thanks SCOTCORRADOG60, I think you've got it spot on! That's a load off! You know, like when you get a tune stuck in your head & can't remember what it is?... it's been buggin me for ages. The reason I was asking is coz there's a guy selling 3 on Ebay, so I wanted to see about getting a fourth. Tried emailing him to ask but no response. BTW I don't think it's that sad that you knew... normally I can identify an alloy instantly, but this one had me stumped. Cheers all, Robbo
  9. Nope... tried all those, it aint BBS, TSW, 100+ or Fox. It's a really obscure one & I've seen it before, but I can't for the life of me remember what it is! cheers, anyway. Any more suggestions?
  10. Please help... Does anyone know what make this wheel is? Ta very much.
  11. Been looking at new rims for my VR... I always said when I got my C that I'd get Azev A's coz I think they are the ultimate C wheel! But I've heard a few people saying that they won't fit the VR6 coz of the front calipers!? Is this true? (boo-hoo!), if so what about Stil Auto Sigmas? anyone tried either of these on a VR, or has anyone got any other suggestions for nice 'rado rims? cheers, Robbo
  12. Hi all, anyone out there got wipers that actually clear the windscreen?!! Mine don't seem to make very good contact, I've tried new blades but makes no difference. Is there anything I can do to make them better? (New springs maybe = better pressure?) cheers, Robbo
  13. Thanks for the tips guys, I'll let you know how I get on... it's been a long time since I got me hands dirty!
  14. Hi all, since buying my VR6 'rado a couple of months ago, I've decided to try and get back into a bit of DIY maintainance (being an oldish motor an' all). One of the first jobs is to replace the rear discs & pads. Is there anything I need to be aware of or is it quite a straight forward job? Should I replace the wheel bearings at the same time? cheers, Robbo
  15. WOW!!! Took Mike's advice... just had wishbone bushes & rear axle bushes replaced with standard ones from GSF, and new Boge rear shocks... the ride & handling are transformed! Gone are all the bumps & rattles and cornering is much more crisp now. Anyone with ropey suspension/bushes get them replaced... it's well worth it!!! Parts were all from GSF at under a hundred quid! cheers, Robbo
  16. Thanks v. much for the replies guys, I guess I'll go for standard bushes, the 'rado seems a pretty firm ride as it is! I will probably want to lower it at some point... is it ok to do this with standard shocks or not recommended? cheers, Robbo
  17. Suspension on my new VR is a bit ropey, needs new rear shocks and a few assorted bushes. I'm thinking of upgrading to poly bushes, and may as well get a full suspension kit (It'd be rude not to!!!). I can't run to coilovers, so does anyone have any recommendations for a budget kit? cheers guys, Robbo
  18. Hi Lee, car looks beaut. I'll keep a look out for you, I'm in Dewsbury, but get to Leeds a fair bit (mainly for the footie... boo, hoo!) I've just bought a '93 VR6 in black - totally standard... but not for long! cheers, Robbo
  19. Thanks for all the replies guys, I can see this forum is going to be essential in owning & running a Corrado! Re: FurkiG60 - perhaps I should have mentioned it is due a service, maybe that will smooth things out a bit. The lumpy idle isn't bad at all & seems it's a common thing, it may be due to the fact thet it seems to idle at very low revs (sub 700 when warmed up), is this normal? I was also wondering if an HT lead upgrade might help things? (the plugs are quite new). cheers, Robbo
  20. Hi all, just joined the forum & thought I'd post a few pics of my '93 VR6 I bought a couple of weeks ago. She's got superb black bodywork, 98k with FSH, 2 owners & is totally standard (but not for long!!!). Interior is grey (would have prefered leather, but for four grand I'm not complaining!). First mods will be the usual - wheels, suspension, exhaust, induction kit? I was interested to read elsewhere that Azev A's don't fit on the VR... shame, they're my all time favourite wheels, but the Stil Auto Sigmas are a good substitute. Exhausts - is a replacement standard one best or is it worth getting a full stainless system?
  21. Hi all, just defected from the Audi Forum after buying a '93 VR6 'rado to replace my 2.6 Audi Coupe. (That's another one to tick off the list of "Cars I will own before I die"!). I've owned loads of 'dubs over the years but am a complete Corrado novice, so no doubt I'll have loads of questions for you knowledgeable chaps! Here's a couple to get started - The car is great, everything I hoped it would be (although build quality not quite up to Audi standards, but the VR6 lump more than makes up for that!). I've noticed that there's a slight hesitancy/missing as I accelerate which happens at just under 2k rpm, this clears up above 2k and is silky smooth right up to the redline. It also seems a little lumpy at idle. These problems seem the same whether the engine's cold or warm. Any suggestions as to possible causes/cures greatly appreciated. Cheers, Robbo
