Well folks, it really is a new car feel, the throttle response is great and I don't get a flat spot now on the revs. :D I wil post some pics when I can get a hold of a digital camera from my mate. Will also post some designs so to see if any of you guys would agree with my planned induction. I've yet to take it on the motorway but will do this coming weekend. Also want to make the existing holes a bit bigger!! :D

Yep got the same problem with my car too, it started when I replaced the interior with leathers. Took the door cards off and put the leather ones on since then the drivers side window jammed. :( The syptoms are exactly how you describe yours. I think its mechanical not electrical. :?

Folks, just had to let you all know that I drilled the airbox this weekend, and have had a grin on my face ever since. :D The sound is just so damn deep and the speed is sweet. :D Going to plan a cold air induction straight inside the box, any ideas from you all, or should I just leave it at a drilled air box :?:

Mines done 78k, got it when it was 71k in Feb of this year. drove it on the motorway this weekend and it just flies!! :D

Mate I have one fitted to my 2.0l 16v. It is available but stocks run out fast I had to get my via R-Tec autos and waited 2 months before it arrived from the states. I'll get you the part no mate.

Does anyone know of where I can get hold of Alcantara. I want to do a build in the boot and parcel shelf but not sure where I can get cheap Alcantara from. Its a toss between Alcantara and Leather at the moment, and price will also be a defining factor. :D

How about a screen, not sure what size it'll be but I'm cosidering doing that on my car when I get my ICE install in. :D
-
I'm also considering putting in a new head unit, done some reading and Alpine comes out tops always, however also been told that the Nakamichi and Becker units are top class to, but pricey. I get "Total Car Audio" magazine which is published every 2 months from WHsmiths, its the only magazine I'm aware of.

I feel for the family, and my deepest sympathy goes to them.

A Porsche 911 or a Brabus Mercedes!! If things go well for me that is!!
-
Well the factory speakers are as follows: Dash are tweeters so 4" will go, The door cards are 5'1/4" and the rear shelf ones are 6'4" . What ones are you getting mate?

For me it was the shape of the car, I saw it at a car show at Earls Court years ago when I was just a kid and just thought to myself I want that. :D Years later when I could finally afford to buy one, I did, so just living out one of my dreams :D My other dream is to own a Porsche 911. :D

Mate have you got pics of the rear center armrest bit, I fitted my leathers in last saturday but the centre armrest don't bolt on to anything, I like the interior of your leathers mate its nice and clean to. Are you going to change the dash and other plastic grey bits?

Alright guys Rado 16v, nah its not me in Southall, must be some other guy!! I hardly ever go down that way mate!! Bally, I'm after a bonnet, driver side front wing and 2 x headlights!! Been phoning around scrappies for the past 2 months but no luck for a late model C.
-
Hows it going guys? Bally the car is on the road, but its just dented but driveable. :( Just trying to get parts is a major problem, the cost is another factor too mate!! :( Majik, I'm from north west london near harrow, how about yourself mate? wher in nw london are you?
-
Bally mate, hows it going? Yep got my seats in but still need to get the rest of the plastics to match to black, will probably spray it all black. No pics of the interior yet but will do when I get my mates digital camera for the weekend.

Hiya folks, I finally managed to get my black leather interior into the car yesterday :D , however the rear seats have a centre armrest and as such my original interior had no armrest to start with. The problem I have is how do I bolt on the centre armrest to the plastic rear centre console :?: Should I drill holes, or should I get another console with the holes for the armrest bolts to go into :?:

Alright mate, I've got the same prob with my C too. Its all to do with a faulty Hall Sender unit on the Distributor. The hall sender sends signals to the ECU to tell it where the TDC mark is and at hard acceleration it loses this mark and knocks the timing out. When you turn the engine off and then immediately back on again the engine works fine until about 30 seconds later it will go again. The solution until you get the distributor replaced is to accelerate smoothly and not to slam on teh accelerator pedal too hard or it will knock the timing out. I figured this out when I drove it on the motorway. Anyway mate let me know how its going with you, I've still to change my distributor too but have had no time to do so, but will let you know when I get it done. :D

Mat get the black interior it will look good :D , I just got mine and I can't wait to get it in. Is the dash and everything else black too :?:
-
Just a thought but has anyone got pics of interiors that are black and leathered, mines grey at the moment, I will be getting the dash leathered dash done, but was wondering if I should change the carpets to black or keep them grey?

Alright guys. I've got a couple of thin cold cathode tubes, blue in colour and want to get them in the car. I was just wondering hows the best way of connecting them up cos they do come with a transformer which converts the 12v car voltage to higher 180-800v tube voltage. Could I try and connect them up using any existing wire in the car like say the loom for the interior lights, or would I need to have a separate connection to the battery, with fuses etc??

Afternoon guys, yep I think a leather parcel shelf might be a overkill but will see. Sukh? Is that Sukh Pui you guys on about, yep kind of know of him not met him but I work with his sister. Bally got my seats and door cards all for £300, its in great condition and not a single scratch/rip on it, can't wait to get it in the car. :D

The other day I was trying to get the ISV off but being a bit of a prat I shattered the straight plastic vacuum pipe which runs from the ISV across the top of the engine manifold back to the large metering head. :( Now its just a simple plastic pipe but VAG don't do it anymore. I've got a chrome pipe from B&Q which I can stick on, but being metal will it affect performance especially when the car gets hot of the air passing through it. :?:

Yeh, will probably get the dash re-trimmed, however might save myself some cash and do the pillars etc myself cos they are straightish bits so I'll be able to get it stuck using contact adhesive. I have been phoneing around for the price of the leather, and like in all professions the cost of labour will probably outweigh the cost of materials, Another question, what do you guys think of a leather parcel shelf or is that major overkill with leather?
-
Ok folks, got my hands on a set of black leather interior off a vr6, a mate of mine got them for me, however still waiting for the black carpets. My problem is is that my current dash is grey, I would like to have a complete black interior and that includes the dash and all the other bits like the pillars etc. Should I get them done in black leather or should I just get a black dash etc (plastic stuff) and save myself the time and hassle, bearing in mide that leather hide will prob cost me £150 max and its something I could do too. What do you folks think :?: Has anyone had a go at leather retrimming before :?:
