HIC for me definitely for me the cheapest, £380 for my 16v and loads of extras as mentioned above.. -
i personally wouldn't do either, unless of course you are celebrating valentines day as well.
-
i shall take a look this w/e thanks mate. you off to bed soon as i take it you are typing from the US.
-
where abouts is that in the engine, is it the same on my 16v as your g60?
-
well this is my third attempt at this subject after the advice supplied i still have no Joy with starting the car correctly. Its needs the gas pedal pushing when its a mild morning or after work?? I popped into a garage and they said that my HT leads could be getting moisture in them and this is why it only has problems starting when it is a more mild day. it starts fine if its a cold day. any ideas on this and if so where can i get HT leads cheap?
-
so where abouts is this place, as i live in the south? not sure if my car would be worthy but then i used to have a beetle which i restored and never minded showing that off.

91 j got 134,000 at the mo still runs well
-
its all true mate, he speak no lie. the midrange/tweeter package is much better than the full range speakers and is simple to connect up and they can generally can take more power also.
-
banana man, i bought my car back in october and they bloke had just put some 17" oz racing wheels on it which i think he bought from halfords. The thing is im not sure if they have the offset or not? Would you know?
-
well i have just bought some kenwood midrange and tweeters as they were nice and cheap and they will fit in nice and they can take plenty of stick. http://www.incarexpress.co.uk they are pretty cheap for most stuff.

well i read something about some dunlops being nice tyres and cheap but mainly very quiet. how much can i expect to pay? anyone no any good prices/places
-
ok then with this in mind, what tyres can i go to or not and which are the better type?
-
well i too found that i had a wire with the aerial and found that it is already connected, so i tried the booster and that made no difference at all so i think that my radio is crap.
-
well i dont think it would make much diffenece to the clearance or speedo as they are non-standard OZ 17" wheels and no the car is not lowered. I just thought with a bit more air in there it would cushion a bit more. so what tyres do you recommend which are cheaper quieter and good grip (sounds like the holy grail of tyres).
-
would any of you boys know if changing the tyres i have (205x40x17) to a less low profile tyre like 45/50 would help reduce the amount of noise and if it change the handling. I have yokohama' and they are pretty good in the wet!
-
cheers jimbo, im pretty sure that i have checked most of them already and clean most up but i shall have another look.
-
cant remember exactly how the cable is fixed on but i think its just a loop or just a fixing of some sort. put some wd40 down it first and make sure its really loose then grease it. make sure theres no frays on it though as you dont want the thing snapping on you.
-
i had a stiff accelerator when i bought my c, and eventually took off the cable and found it needed greasing up but then found the cabling was frayed so its easier to get another. so take out the cable first its a 5 min job and check how free it is, then the pedal?
-
well its sometimes easier to just go and buy another especially as theres some pretty good deals going at the moment
-
dont know but does this make a differnece then as mine is extremely noisy alot of bangs when going over road imperfections and there is a lot in basingstoke bloody council. just wondering if theres anymore bushes i should change to improve to ride??
-
you can get some on ebay and they are good quality ones
-
i think this problem has been discussed before but i need to clarify it. My 1.8 16v 1991 J has got 17" OZ wheels but when driving on un-even roads the steering wanders where it wants. also sometimes it feels like theres a lot of wobbling or something lose in the steering. The tracking is fine as its good on flat roads and doesn't wander. Is it the wishbone bushes? or maybe the wheels being so wide???
