  1. Hi all, very sorry if this had been done to death. Iv recently been re building a fully bare corrado originally a 2.0. Had no engine etc so decided to put a 1.8 turbo out of an Octavia vrs 2005. Any way sorry to go on the issue I’m having is the clutch, I have an original 2.0 gearbox with a g60 flywheel and vr6 clutch and pressure plate. The clutch is permanently dis engaged. Had the box back out to check the obvious. Plate fitted the correct way. Using g60 hex head flywheel bolts, release bearing and arm fitted correctly. And operated the slave removed from the box and all is fine. Iv been trying to find some god images of flywheel and clutches fitted to these engines to compare and can’t seem to. Should this set up work ? Or should I be using a 2.0 pressure plate ? Any help would be great and sorry to go on.
  2. Thanks for clearing that up, iv got 288 on mine and am having a few wheel clearance issues, hoping going back to the smaller brakes will solve my problem.
  3. Hi, are the standard vr6 brakes 280mm disk or 288mm ? Thanks for looking
  4. Hi, just to let any one know who was thinking of getting the calibre vintage wheels they won't fit over 288mm brakes, some spacers will be needed to stop spokes being ruined by the caliper.
  5. I'm havin similar problem iv got a set to try and fit to my vr6, when I spoke to rally design they said that the brackets out of there kit bk17g will fit but they say I need to use there discs which are a small fortune. The ones I have have a serial number stamped on them on the inner face.
  6. They are calibre vintage or may get lenso bsx, I quite like the BBS look but have quite a tight budget. Why did I buy a house ?!
  7. Hi all, looking at getting some new wheels to replace diddy speed lines does any one know or have fitted this wheel size 5x100 et32 8j with 205/40 r17 tyres will they fit and how low can you drop before arches need rolling etc, some pics with corrados with 17s would be good to get a feel for how it would look. Thanks for looking.
  8. Thanks for that just another job to add to the ever increasing list ! Should Have resisted the temptation of another corrado after the grief of first one !
  9. My external temp has just started going mental, it's fluctuating all the time, can any one tell me the location of the external temp sensor please. Cheers.
  10. Brakes sound like brake judder, could be just pads but normally disks for judder, you can check disk run out if you have a dti gauge. For the accelerator pedal I'd just start by checking the obvious, take the lower trim off and have a look see if anythings catching, and butterfly in throttle body see if it moves freely, you could dis-connect throttle cable at both ends and see how free it is in the outer casing.
  11. This might sound daft but yave you had the lower dash trim off ? I had on mine and when I put it back on was slightly out of align so was catching the accelerator pedal mine got stuck hard down was a bit worrying when I was in a 50mph zone. easy to check before going deeper.
  12. Cheers, it doesn't seem to drive badly just wondered if it was essential to use vag com once battery had been off. Thanks.
  13. Sorry if this has been asked over and over, iv been reading the wiki bit on ecu re-set, basically my question is will the ecu learn all the values/data it needs over time without the use of vag com ? When I got my corrado the lad had just put a new battery on after it had Died, no drive cycle has been done as I was blissfully unaware of this so just took it away and have been using it every day since. Thanks.
  14. Is that the ones going through the bush ? I just got my big impact gun on them, there never coming loose !
  15. Think I'll give them one last check tonight, put my mind at rest ! Cheers for the info.
