I am really just after some advice really, I want to upgrade my ICE system Currently running a Sony MP3 H/U and 10 disc changer This is ideally what I would like to do…………. Put a “Mini Mac” in the glove box 1.4GHz PowerPC G4 512MB DDR333 SDRAM 80GB Ultra ATA hard drive Combo drive DVI or VGA video output AirPort Extreme and Bluetooth Card Cost £519 Add to this a 7” touch screen for about £160 The sound would run through the current Head Unit This option gives me DVD/80GB worth of MP3’s/AVI – internet connection through a Bluetooth phone/WiFi hotspots, also I am sure there will be something I can do in the line of SAT-NAV with this. Also it would be fully voice controlled!!!!! I would fit it all myself so the total cost would be around £700 Option 2 is to just stick a head unit in with SAT-NAV/DVD/TV/MP3 like the Pioneer: AVIC-X1 What do you think? Can any of you see any problems with the “Mini Mac” idea?

Kev, the one i have in there now is a very tight fit, about 10mm sounds about right, think i will go to my local GSF on saturday and get the 74AH, whats the main advantage with having higher AH rating? can handel more stuff? (i want to put a Mini Mac and screen in the car) craigbeal, love that MK2, had a 16v before the corrado and i really want one back (to go with the rado of course!)

Just rang GSF and they are telling me the only one that have that fits the corrado is a 61AH one????? are they just going by whats reccomened to fit and not what CAN fit?

Yep windows dropping into the doors is a big problem for the MK4 and costly too! i am not sure how to check if it is going to happen but it WILL happen! BTW Jet why oh why are you coming back to the uk?

Right I replaced my battery just over a year ago but I am having problems again! The battery will not hold its charge for more than 2 days at most. All I really need is a model number and a make of a good quality battery that I wont have to replace every year!!! Thanks in advance!

For me (I will be shot for this) BBS Wheels are over rated by the VW scene, altho saying that they do suit the rado a treat!

There was a chap at the last MK meet who had a TT (sorry dude i am really bad with names!) he is moving to AZ, anyway he had a TT before his VR6 and he really did not have anythnig good to say about them! IMHO your brother should WAIT the TT is about to be replaced soon and the price of the current one will drop like a 14 year olds dangles!!!!!! There are so many around that the price will go through the floor as all the IPOD loving trendy TT drivers will want the newest!

Mini Mac in the glove box, with an 80Gb HDD, 7" coustom mounted touch screen TFT to go in the tape/voltage hole, i want this set up and i think i will be able to get it done for under a grand, be great to have 80Gb of music/video plus loads of options for the future like voice control of stuff!

horrid front end! IMHO the front end of the rado is one of the best parts! I respect the time and effort that has been put into this car, i remember it being on ebay a while ago tho, IIRC he was asking for £18k!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
