Neokitz replied to Neokitz's topic in General Car Chat
im not really a racer but jeez it gives a buzz when matched with the right opponent.. I like to just cruise but have more than ample power on tap for overtaking and a little tait a tait under the right circumstances.. gotta agree with big ben.. i whizz past porkers and M3's M5's all the time and they dont bother with you... Mr focus RS however is always up tustle. -

Hey Joby, Im in connahs quay.. North Wales clan grows one more.. I dont have much of an option with those Rs's.. 2 reasons... 1) they are bloody quicker than my G60 2) they could have a set of blues and twos hiding behind the front grille. Some nice roads around your way.. used to love taking my old valver for a spin around betws y coed :) -

I realise that mate and i had no idea what it was until it went past me.. I cant compare the 2 cars and its no contest with a slightly fettled C but....that focus really did catch me with my pants down!! Its just made me think i want something more modern and tunable under my bonnet as well. I wouldn't go for an R32 conversion because I think that i would be disappointed if after all that work i still got blown away by mr Focus.. so maybe something a little less volitile and less expensive.. the 20VT still sounds good and theres more of them about than replacement G60's.. and there very tunable too. -
what about an L shaped strip of led's on the lower and outer edge of the indicators??? maybe sommat like this.. sorry, bad photoshop skills. but you get the idea.daytime running light idea.JPG[/attachment:24ohpq35]

I was driving back from a family do last night. I was alone, driving thru town with a bright xenon glare in my rear view mirror. I respected the speed limits as there is a camera before the run up to the dual carridge way. 1 lane turns to 2 then dual carridge way opens up to a clear run. I see these bright lights advancing towards me. I floor it!! My G60 has been running well these last few months and with the cooler air it scoops into its charger it feels a bit nippier should be good for about 170 bhp even though the charger is due a service not bad considering its on 211K ........ anyway.. I wasn't gaining any distance on these bright lights chasing me.. Im on full chatter, hit 6000 rpm, slipped it up a cog .....and before i could reach 70mph the fecker bolted past me on a curve. I thought my G60 was quick...........until i watched thing thing zoom past. it had so much acceleration... It was one of those Ford Focus RS thingys.. and it wasn't the police  Feckin quick!! big turbo and all that gubbins. Is it this kind of situation that makes ppl upgrade upto a 20VT???...coz im really thinking it now. :brickwall:

Hey dudes..just saw this thread Im up in North wales, Flintshire and weetos is from round here too.I have a Red G60 I read there are quite a few C's in and around North and South wales.. :D -
Have a look on Ebay.. you could buy a complete door, window and mechanism for a lot less than that. I just bought a tailgate, slam panel, complete dash and a spare set of doorcards coz they were CHEAP. I got the slam panel for 99p :-) gonna cost me more in fuel to pick them up  would seem winters bring values of corrado's down. the goverment spending cuts aren't helping either coz parts prices on the bay have fallen. mostly a bad situation but a good excuse to stockpile a few cheap 2nd hand spares while there cheap. one day when nearly all the VW spares have been used up, we will only ever be able to rely on 2nd hand parts panels etc from the likes of ebay...Eek!!

could make it into a stretched corrado limo haha

yes there is always something better to worry about. just your worries are probably a bit more expensive than mine haha

Thanks steve. that thread was quite interesting. Im not sure i'd go with that idea myself as I have the tom tom app on the iphone so would need it higher up the console so i can see it. It still creates an area for muck and fluff to collect though...Im gonna stick with the idea of re-locating some oem window switches and a central door locking button.
-
A lot of R/C enthusiasts have the tools to refurb motors, brushes etc. its not that difficult. Although brushless technology has been around for a while now. when my spoiler failed on my last C i simply bought a complete tailgate off ebay for a fiver (£20 in fuel to collect) and swapped over the bits.

was thinking of adding some wind deflectors as well. Seen a few sets on the bay, do they make that much difference? an I think the wiring wouldn't be too much bother, but finding some VW OEM switches to fit might be as i havn't yet checked the clearance underneath..Im gonna have a looksy in the polo.............

 so funny you wrote it twice. and yeah, i do hate those feckin slots. what were they thinking when they came ap with that!!
-
what a completley useless idea. pathetic at actually holding coins...especially now most coins have re-designed!! All they ever do is attract dirt and grime. does anyone else feel the same? I am thinking of cutting the area out and installing a switchbank consisting of electric window switches and a central door locking switch (using a passenger window switch). I hate having the switches in the sides of the door panels..late model switch locations were just as poor as they get soaked when water comes in when the windows are opened slightly in the rain!! has anyone ever done this before or done something or anything else with the coin slots?? apart from putting coins in?
-
Yeah thanks for that. I have a Bentley manual on my laptop in a pdf format but these ones are small enough to be accessed on my iphone with will come in handy.

Brand new ones from VAG are ridiculiously expensive. GSF matrix is a much better option and they are pretty good as well. Not a job i want to do more than once.

thats what its all about...buy um cheap....sell for a profit.. although if WD's did feature a Corrado, I could see a sale price hike as dozens of would be corrado owners rush out and buy their first one...on the other hand all the old ruff dogs would get dragged out to be sold as "iconic Classics" either way it would be good for ed to tackle one.  i understand thats what the programme is about. My point was there's a difference between bartering to get it cheaper, and robbing the poor bloke. :?[/quote:1odyshxe]
