  1. :norty: It was me. I quite like them on the Audi, an i was a fan of the BMW angel eyes as well..but only on the cars they were originally intended for.. I think the C's lights would be too boxy and not modern enough to take them. still like the idea though
  2. well i bought mine with Corrado.net forum stickers already in and before it came up cheshire way it lived somewhere near doncaster..so i can only guess that a forum member on here has owned it or worked on it at some point... Flash red G60 K945BDP???
  3. The Wörthersee photos are awesome. Cars looks immaculate in everyway.
  4. I have to get my head around body repair work and paint as well for my Flash red g60.. gonna do the rear panel first with a couple of rattle cans from VW then do the slam panel in the same way .The OSR wing and drivers door and boot lid, in fact the rest of the car will need repainting in a bodyshop but i intend to do the de-rusting and primer on the parts that i can do.
  5. get the kettle on.. Hope it all goes well for you.
  6. browsing You tube i found this. The corrado speedster.. ....enjoy :salute:
  7. judging by his collection of mostly RS fords i can see why he wants rid of it.. Alledgedly BMW dont even own one in their own collection that has a lesser milage..he is meant to be a top bloke tho.
  8. OMG no...thats to fit the panel and tend to the tiny bit of rust on the rear panel. Then to de-rust everywhere else, except the underbody then prep the entire car ready for new primer, topcoat (flame red)and laquer. thinking of a colour change tho... :confused4:
  9. I fitted some new 6x4 speakers into the rear parcel shelves. then looked at the shabby red paintwork and rusty rear drivers quarter and sighed :( then drove it to spraycraft to get a quote on the quarter panal replacement and a full lick of fresh paint..."dont expect much change outa 3 grand kid" he said "if ya want it doin proper" " proper show like...like them ones that those edition38 boys drive".................and thats to restore it to its original flash red colour!!! then again he was a coachbuilder for Bentley. anyone have a new O/S/rear quarter panal they wanna sell lol...I can exchange for an arm, a leg or a kidney
  10. I worked for the largest automotive manufacturing company in the world who were recently shot down to size and put back in their place by something called Toyota recall lol. I was a Die maintenance fitter/technician at their aluminium casting division at their Engine plant in north Wales. Got to play about with thermic lances and big indoor cranes. :D most of the top nobs in their usually end up going into the 'Lean manufacturing/management consultancy field.. so if you have recently been made redundant from a company that went thru dramatic change..it was probably down to one of those consultants...Boo!!!!1 :censored: I prefered not to follow the company way and continued to get my hands dirty. I say that now but for the last 3 years I havent worked due several medical conditions. I was diagnosed with ME (yuppie flu - to you 80's dudes) a while back and a year later was diagnosed with type 1 Bipolar after many bouts of depression followed by total utter crazyness!! Im now using my time off to re-educate, im at college doing foundation courses that will get me into Uni next year. i will be 35 and going back into full time education....doing a degree in.....Yes...computer science, to train and get into the field or IT lol..but then again I quite fancy being a lecturer of mature students.. theres lots of single hot chicks at the college!!
  11. my charger runs a 70 mm pulley with Jabbasport stage 4 porting, running - 14psi-(ish) according to the 1980 readout on the MFA. Although the charger is off a golf rallye. mines due a rebuild too
  12. Absolutley gutted for you Kip.. made me cringe!! makes me wanna take my C off the road and bubble wrap it!! as most have said, Its better that your still in one piece and your semi ok.. The car can be replaced. Its going to be a costly repair if the insurers give the go ahead but tha could all depend on how bad the boot floor is. it looks repairable. is there any damage to the drivers side rear quarter as well? Try keep in high spirits, we all feel your pain!!
  13. removed the rear wiper and motor and blanked off hole with a halfords grommet. Fitted a momo gearknob and did some investigation on the G60 head gasket as someone told me it was a gti spec... he was wrong!! my gasket is correct spec. Took it for a spin then phoned G-werks about bringing it in for a charger service.
  14. Hi, Im very much interested. How much for the 3 relay loom (mains & dipped) with OEM connectors? (if there are any left?) Ive got a late G60 with standard lights. Thanks Neo
  15. Coool. thats about 11 times round the world. hope mine is still alive at the quarter mil mark :D
  16. ...and yeah, neither would go round a corner lol
  17. Neither did I. :nono: Maybe you misunderstood. read it again.. I meant the GSI was much better in its handling and performance. 127 mph top end of the monty is no comparison to the 140 mph of the GSI!!
  18. I had one when i was 20..Used to love old skool MG's...went like hot sh*t off a shiney shovel. loved it but i sold it to buy a cavalier GSI 16v which obliterated it in terms of performance and top end!!
  19. Dont forget that Karmann had full vehicle manufacturing facilities including stamping of body panels to a full automated welding line. some processes needed automation while others areas of the plant used skilled coach builders. There was always more than one project going on at Karmann at any one time. The Scirocco was still being built at the same time as the corrado so in terms of efficiency and to meet production targets, Karmann had to tool up. Im not sure of the Build time for a corrado but it was much longer than most cars of the time from VW. I worked for Toyota and in Derby they were banging cars out at the rate of 1 every 70 secs when they were at full capacity and thats running 24/7. only 97,521 corrado's were built between 1st September 1988 and 31st July 1995. So it was kind of an exclusive production run. VW did lose money on the project as they contracted out the production to karmann and with the high cost of buying a C at the time you can imagine that VW didn't make much profit.. VW now owns Karmann as of 2009 because karmann almost went bankrupt. Kempy...the pics were fom a book previously mentioned in an earlier post.
  20. So I think most of us will agree that with the C being over 20 years old in design there are more High milage cars than some of you very lucky ones who own a C with say.. sub 70 thousand on the clock.. Most are getting on for over a 100 K (miles not km) but whose got the highest?? Be honest peeps, there is no shame, and if anything utter respect going to the highest. I will start this. My C is a 92 K plate G60 and its showing 210,852 miles on the clock.
  21. Mini roundabouts (3 - way) on old T. junctions where normally the straight thru traffic had right of way. some ppl just dont know who has the right of way at these roundabouts.. we have loads of them in Wales and they are always an accident hotspot!! You Yield or Give way to traffic on your right. dont matter if its a 5 way 4 way or 3 way..so many ppl dawdle at these so quite often inpatient drivers just bolt thru!! its getting that bad where i live that the councils have put monitoring pole cameras up which doesn't help...... I s'pose it gives the camera operators sommat to giggle at!!
  22. Ooooh i see. fairy nuff... My ex said i could be a bit of a Cnut as well hahaha  maybe thats why she is my ex !!
  23. Hey guys. Not one for asking dumb questions but I have noticed everyone calls their corrado by the letter "C" I know this is an abbreviation but why do you all use it???? is it because your all lazy  or is it something to do with posts coming up in Google search results???? New to this so im a bit :confused4:
