    S3 cats

Hi, just a quick one if anyone can help, do you know whether a cat from any audi S3 (1999-2004) are interchangable? Only mines collapsed and I need a new one and need to know which ones I can go for second hand. Cheers for any help you can give, mines a y reg 210bhp car incidentally. Jez

    in pro rear lights

No need to use the original bulb holders in. Just use male spade connectors and slot them into the wiring plug on the car's loom, no need to butcher lights or wiring that way.
  4. Can't really say how much but not as much as you think. Yeah I thought about that one but was you cant get the VVT working that way plus emerald is good for about 270-80bhp.

    TT 312mm brakes

The KB is inaccurate most of those cars listed have 288mm brakes.
  6. yeah, will be starting one soon got a few bits to get hold of but Ill be pulling the vr lump out after christmas I reckon.
  7. Nope, will be running an emerald ecu, bypasses the need for the clocks and keys. Means I can keep the vr ones as am trying to keep it as original as possible plus I don't like the idea of mounting mk4 clocks in my dash. Pelequin diff arrived today too so will be getting the gearbox rebuilt whilst putting that in,
  8. Yeah BBS wheels usually do the trick, been done to death though some of them I went for RWIIs because Ive only ever seen one other corrado with them and thought they looked sweet. They're a bit of a love em or hate em wheel with most people
  9. I take it you didn't see him overtake two cars at the same time on a corner at silverstone this year then?
  10. Break out the sand paper and rub off all the nasty silver crap, makes them look much better . I couldn't bring myself to stick them on as they were, much more subtle now. Oh yeah and try ajusting the bumpstops on the bootlid before filing the holes I managed to get a good fit from a combination of the two mind.
  11. Yeah he was in this morning for the formal announcement we weren't invited though cos we're cars scum to the F1 team. He seems like an alright guy too, eats in the staff cantine with everyone else unlike that raikkennennenen fella.
  12. That they do, don't forget you need a dual pole oil pressure sender aswell also sold by vagparts. Think its an extra 18 quid or so.

    Mocal oil cooler

Just a quick one... Anyone know if the sandwich plate for a vr6 mocal setup will fit an r32 engine aswell? I intend on ditching the factory oil/water cooler to avoid the clearance issue. Cheers Jez

    R32 seats

Just a quick one, anyone know whether the konig seats from a 5 door mk4 r32 have the tilt forward mechanism fitted? ie are they the same as 3 door ones? I remember old mk2 recaros were the same whether you had 3 or 5 doors but itd be sods law if the r32s are different
  15. Yeah, probably is the belt tensioner new ones are 70 quid from GSF so best change the bearing quick before it explodes and shafts it for good. Much cheaper!
  16. Im in, already had a team made up for it!
  17. Anyone got a part no for the inlet manifold to head gasket on a VR6? Got one from VAG today but the holes don't line up properly! And they're closed now so can't go back to question it :(
  18. You need M12x40x1.5 bolts rates 10.9 or above, unfortunately they only ones I could get hold of were in boxes of 100 at £40! However, I may have found somewhere that can do them individually but I deleted the voicemail from my phone from the shop. It sounded promising though, was on the way home from work when I got it so didn't listen properly :( Will find out tommorow and let y'all know as Ive made my own bolts up by shortening an M12x60 but don't like that as a permanent solution...
  19. Possibly, but why would they make the calipers exactly the same except the thread pitch for the brake lines? That wouldn't make sense.
  20. I think you missed the point of the post though, what Im saying is that the wiki article says that mk4 front calipers have 1mm pitch banjo bolts. But that isn't true as mine are from a mk4 and they are 1.5mm pitch.
  21. Hold the phone! - took the front and rear calipers into work to confirm the thread pitch of the front and back calipers as they are clearly different. Front was an M10 fitment with a 1.5mm pitch, rear was M12 with a 1.0mm pitch. Both calipers came off a 2001 mk4 golf 1.8t so it would seem that the late mk3 fronts are exactly the same banjo as mk4 ones. Not having a dig but may need to amend the wiki article Dinkus, as it also still says 312 discs came on all sporty mk4 platformed cars whereas this isn't the case. Only the annivesarys and 4motion golfs, 225 TT, S3 and skoda Vsr thing has em. The 1.8t golf I got my calipers from had scappy old 288s.
  22. Since some tosser has nicked my metal bbs valve caps does anyone know where I can get a new set. And yes, I know they'll just get nicked again but I don't care. :x
  23. Cheers dude, the footnote in the wiki cleared it up too! Should probably have had another look in there first...
  24. Spoke to Steve at C&R today, who was pretty helpful. However I need to know the thickness of the banjo bolt threads or he can't order the lines! He knows mk3 288 calipers are 1.5mm but doesn't know the size of the mk4 calipers' banjo bolts. I take it they're a thinner thread on the mk4 as per dinkus' wiki? 1.25mm maybe? Someone must know, its driving me mad!
