Anyone know where I can get a vagcom read out in the camberley/reading area without being ripped off by vw? I have the same problem and replaced the front driverside abs sensor today thinking it was that one. Unfortunately it isn't so before I decide which one to replace next that might be a good idea. Also, wasn't that straigtforward a job, the sensorr was practically welded into the hole it sits in. Had to take the caliper and brake disk off to get a good angle to bash it out. More of a pain in the ass than difficult though.

The M3s next on my list. Theres only so much you can do with a front wheel drive car and the VR6 is probably as good as that gets, so its the next logical step!

It can take up to 6 months for the court summons to arrive, for example mine came through after four months. I found this site the best for info on speeding, even if you haven't been done yet Id recommend everyone read it. it pays to know how the bastards can get you.. http://www.speed-trap.co.uk And yes I am bitter about being caught doing 101.4mph on an dry, well lit and empty motorway at 10.39pm by some jumped up authority loving little pr*cks in an unmarked vauxhall omega. :D

Yeah that's good, I prefer 1.75 turns on the front but then I don't have fancy anti roll bars yet... :D

Its just passed 90,000 miles. You wouldn't know it to look at it though, karmann's build qulity rocks! Plus I spent 4hrs cleaning/feeding the seats this weekend so they look feel and smell nice again.

Here be a picture sui la bonnet, bit dirty but not for long...no bling mind.

Jedi- suspension on the back is set on the middle ring and the induction kit to be honest doesn't make much diffrence from a driving aspect only a bit more responsive low down hardly noticeable really but it looks evil in your engine bay and the noise it makes rocks! The hugh stainless pipe makes a jet engine like noise when you nail it! Oh and the side repeaters were from Gwent VW, I had to modify them a bit to get them on though.

Yeah, the pics were taken in the late evening so not much sun about. But on a sunny day its very bright purple! Thebest time is when the sun is setting but still quite bright. Ill try and take some in better light and when waxed!

Yep, after owning it for about 9 months Ive finally got off my arse to take some pictures of my car to share with you good people. Minty! Don't plan on going mad with it though, so far Ive replaced the alarm with a cat 1 laserline, put Koni shocks and H&R springs on, got clear side repeaters and a turn 2 induction kit. Subtlety is the way to go with this one. Things I plan on doing are s/s exhaust (a quiet one mind), colour code the VW on the grill and try and source a guage panel for the dash, oh yeah and clean the engine bay up a wee bit too so its as clean as the rest of the car!

Got a bit of a problem, was cleaning my car out whilst listening to the stereo i.e. keys in ignition - when the stereo went off and on a couple of times which i thought was a bit strange. So I tried to start the car and it wouldn't let me! All that happens is when you turn the key you can hear the solonoid click but the alarm sets itself off. Its a laserline 996 and the diagnostic it gives you says someone is trying to start the engine which is true but why is it doing it? Anyone know? Could be a fuse but I wouldn't know where to start looking!

Just did a search for the GT4 car list and it looks like the Corrado VR6 is going to be in there. Could only find a US list where it says '93 Corrado, the year they came out in america isn't it?

Go to silverfusion.com that where I got mine from, and look at the diffrence they make:

I had a quick blat against an FTO a couple of months ago off some traffic lights on a big roundabout/junction. It pulled off slightly quicker than me, but at about 3500 I started pulling past it. Unfortunately, next set of traffic lights were red and didn't have much time between the two. May not have been a v6 one mind.

Some top albums showing on people's lists! Have just fitted my new turn2 intake kit today which sounds too good to drown out with music, so currently sat in my now redundant CD changer: The Bends - Radiohead OK Computer - Radiohead Moon Safari - Air Hail to the thief - Radiohead (again) Best of - Jimi Hendrix Pablo Honey - Radiohead Sublime - Sublime Amnesiac - Radiohead Presidents of the USA - Presidents of the USA United by fate - Rival Schools Superunknown - Soundgarden And yes, I probably do listen to too much radiohead.

Hello, does anyone know where you can get 7mm red ignition leads from? I know you can get the 8.5mm ones, but they won't fit in the plastic runners will they?
-
Im probably not the onlty one wondering this, but how the hell do you get the damn sidelight bulbs out? Ive managed to take the headlamp units out, took off the black cap and then couldn't work out how the sidelamp bulbs came out. Didn't want to break anything so thought Id ask you lot first... :?:

Yep, I was concerned about the fuel bill when I first bought a vr, having upgraded from a mk2 16v. But to my amazement it actually went down by about a fiver a week. Bonus! Must have been a leak in the petrol tank...
-
Is that a 90mm lower spoiler too?
-
Yes, damn right! Everybody who loves cars NEEDS to read this! Some of the best stuff is in the archive though. BMW Monkeytronics!

It's just the front one I think. You can feel it juddering when changing gear and pulling away. Will need sorting, it's getting annoying now.
-
...Are almost knackered, anyone know how much effort it is to change them? Also how much for decent ones? Cheers!

I bet you any money it's the OE immobiliser that's your problem. I had the same thing a few months back, it wasn't a huge problem at the time, but it packed up completely when I stopped for petrol on the M40. Which was a big pain in the arse as I was about 1hr 1/2 from home! Anyways more to the point, it's the sensor that reads the transponder code from your ignition key that's stopped working properly. They're notoriously dodgy but cheap to replace, it cost me about 25 quid for a new one-I think its called a read sensor or something. Sorted. Can't claim credit for working out what was wrong with it though. one of my brother's mates works for vag so cheers to whoever he was!
