  1. Thanks guys, great response. Emma
  2. Hi, From the link I assume that D3 is the gasket they are talking about between the inner joint and the flange. I didn't get one in the joint kit, which included the boot as well, so it's going on without! I'm pretty sure with the 6 bolts holding it in place, the seal will be OK, will keep an eye on it though. Cheers for the answers, Em
  3. No-one have any ideas? I have the driveshaft ready to go back on the car, but a bit worried about this! It's referring to where the metal cap on the inner boot fits onto the inner joint. Thanks, Em
  4. Hi, Fitting a new inner CV joint and boot. My manual says for this 'coat inside of cap flange with D3'. I have no idea what D3 is. Can anyone enlighten me? Many thanks! Emma
  5. Hi Tom, Yes please, if it's in reasonable condition, undrilled etc. Please PM me payment details. Am also after a couple of odds and sods which I can PM you about? thanks, Emma
  6. Finished painting the driveshaft, wishbones and caliper mounts with Hammerite, ready for reassembly with 2 new CV joints and all new boots tomorrow. Investigated boot panel leak. Bought VR6 headlights and grille on ebay. Took gear gaiter surround off for respraying a scuff. Can't wait until we start putting it back together!
  7. Hi, Do you still have the airbox? Haven't seen it mentioned in 11 pages :-) Thanks, Emma
  8. During daylight, that should have said. Not sure what happened there! cheers, Em
  9. Hi Si, That's really helpful, thanks. Will have a good look tomorrow during dayli
  10. Will do, they looked OK but it was getting dark... One of the number plate fixings has definitely snapped off, so could be letting water in. Thanks.
  11. Hi, As it says in the title, really. Had the trim panel off to sort out an electrical issue and noticed there was water inside the hatchback panel. I've just lifted it up after a few days rain and lots of water came out of each rear light (trim panel still off). The rear window seals *look* fine, any ideas where is best to check next? The number plate surround is a bit rattly, was going to check that and the seals on the lights themselves unless anyone has any better suggestions? Thanks in advance, Em
  12. Oh, I can probably collect to save you a visit to the post office...
  13. Hi, Do you still have the grille? I'm after a late black one. I trawled through the replies and couldn't see anything. I have a VR6, I assume the 16V/VR6 badges are interchangeable? *crosses fingers* cheers, Em
  14. Hi, Well £100 later we have working windows, sunroof and reversing lights. Woo! The issue was a short circuit being caused by one of the wires going to the reversing lights being rubbed through. This was caused by the rear window wiper mechanism only having one bolt (out of 3) holding it on and that being loose, so the whole thing was able to move about and rub the wire. I hope this helps, the rear panel in the boot was fairly easy to take off, the black Phillips headed screws just turn slightly (1/2 turn) and then you can prise them off. thanks, Em
  15. OK, thanks, really need one in black. Thanks for replying though. Emma
  16. Hi, I'm after a late-model VR6 grille with intact fixings, would have to be posted though, Thanks, Emma
  17. Hi, Interested in headlights if all the plastic mounts are intact...will you do a posted price? Thanks, Emma
  18. Indeed, I'm very grateful for all the help and advice as a first-time Corrado owner and mechanical/electrical numpty. VWVW, I have some of those clips but will count up today and give you a shout if I need more, cheers. Em
  19. Hi Leon, I'll count tomorrow and let you know, although I'll happily take all the clips you've got! PM me to let me know how much for postage etc. Thanks very much, Emma
  20. Hi Mike, Thanks, I put the part numbers (now corrected I hope) into the VW Heritage search and it didn't come up with anything. I'll have another look, cheers. Ebay hasn't produced the goods so far, I'll post in the Wanted section, but I imagine they are common parts that break... thanks anyway, Emma
  21. Hi, No luck with the dealer sourcing the following, I was hoping someone had some suggestions: Clips for bottom of door cards, part number 3A0 867 301 01C I think. Big round plastic 2-part screw & cover, part number on it is 535 857 948. Picture attached. Smaller plastic screw, no part number, picture attached. We are trying to install a replacement interior and there's a lot of clips missing or broken, so any help appreciated. Thanks, Emma
  22. Hi, The window worked when I first replaced the control unit, but then next day failed again. Got an auto electrician coming tomorrow as we have enough to do on the rest of the car, especially with the current weather! Will let you know if he solves the problem. Cheers, Emma
  23. Hi, I have exactly the same problem. Cannot find any broken wires in the door, nor could the Phirm when they looked. Should be getting a replacement window control unit this week, I'll let you know if this fixes the issue. cheers, Emma
  24. Lots done today! New Koni STR.T shocks arrived on Thursday, so * dismantled old shocks and cleaned up parts to be re-used prior to reassembly. * oil and oil filter change * fitted 'new' sunroof/spoiler switch unit * other half started to fit new stereo system - new subwoofer, door speakers, tweeters and Alpine DAB head unit * removed drive shaft (a total nightmare as one of the bolts was already stripped) so we can replace inner and outer CV boots while wheels/brakes/suspension is off * bought replacement window control unit (thanks Wes) Lots still to do but a productive day today... Emma (and Pete and Warren)
  25. Hi, As part of the car overhaul we have bought a new stereo system, including a Pioneer TS-WX110A active subwoofer. We don't want to put it in the boot as I'll be carting a large dog around quite a bit in the back. Dimensions are 280 x 200 x 75mm. Initial thoughts are to put it in the passenger footwell under the dash. However we are a bit nervous about drilling through the bulkhead. Has anyone done a similar installation and have any advice? We are assuming that there isn't enough room to install it under a seat... Thanks very much, Emma
