  1. Broke the **** sun roof. Heres to hoping I can fix it tonight. :mad2:
  2. Ok tried this last night, cant for the life of me see how it all goes back together now tho. Got the panel off that I wanted to re-cover but as a result the surrond (bit that goes into the roof) also needs recovering as its all fallen off! So I now have no idea what im going to do, going to lift off the top panel tonight and hope I can work it out from above but not holding out much hope. Realy dont want to have to take out the headlining again! I saw last night amongst my searching a PDF guide to repairing sunroof motors and it was awsome, but I cant find it anymore - also there is a lot of people talking about a guide on the wiki - that I also cannot find! Anyone able to help??
  3. Hi, before anyone shouts I have done a search but keep finding confilicting information... Ive done the headliner - easy as. However im unsure about the sunroof liner... The way i understand it is that there is a plate that has the white liner material on and this can be removed... can this be done without taking the headliner out again? and without removing the sunroof? One post suggests it just slides backwards and out - another suggests removing the whole sunroof complete... Its an early 16v if that helps? Cheers!
  4. Re-trimmed the headlining - quite supprised at how easy it was to do! Even putting it all back together again in the dark
  5. Well what im actually thinking is camo :D
  6. Im going to do this in the reverse order, for a very good reason. HATES That it constantly needs working on, fettling with, tinkering, adjusting, repairing LOVES That it constantly needs working on, fettling with, tinkering, adjusting, repairing. The car that I love, and have always wanted NEEDS ME :D Its not just me loving the car, because without me - it would be at the scrapyards :D
  7. Im hoping to do a bit of re-trimming to a few bits and bobs in the rado over the next few weeks, but I have no idea where I would go about getting the material from? All im after is that stretchy cotton type stuff realy, but maybe in a fancy pattern? :D Where would sell this kind of thing for me to turn up and buy?
  8. Ely is close - im Peterborough!
  9.   Ive got to admit, this is one of the best forums ive ever been on. However I just wish I had gone to some of the meets / come said hello etc as I think im probably missing out on an awfull lot more that can be offered by this forum through that! Still, guess theres always next year
  10. ^  Amp'ed my door speakers and fitted some nice tweeters in the top of the door pods :D 8) Fitted my Corrado mat set 8) Oh and also looked at removing the bump strips, only to find a monumental patch of rust on the passengers arch - gave up and walked away :D Still - got a cup of tea out of the water in the kettle I had boiled in preparation!
  11. Having the exact same problem with mine today! When they close though it doesnt seem to close properly because the bonnet release doesnt release :( so you ahve to push the bonnet down at the same time to get it to pop open. Seriously, thinking these are a waste of time now - such a shame. Am looking for alternative mounting locations at the moment but cant realy see any that would work :(
  12. Hi Dave, Need a kit please mate, drivers door has given up completely on me today! As its a daily im having to bundle in from the passengers side! Actually scrap that, I may aswell take two as the passengers cant be far off needing one... PM me with details, Thanks mate!
  13. Also up for a pair if you have any, just drop me a pm. Tah
  14. In reverse I would love to know some history / previous owners of mine! G575 DDF Bought from a guy in wales...
  15. You may be supprised, the clip does look very small but the recess it clips into is also fairly small.
  16. Reading this makes me feel a little bit better - I was coming down on the wednesday to collect this one if you didnt take it on the saturday (Damn late pay days!!!!) :mad2:  I know its horrible, but im quite glad it has a few niggles as I would have been completely gutted if it was perfect and i'd missed out lol. However - indicator problem sounds like a crappy earth, without a shadow of a doubt. Starter could be the same thing, or at least a fairly simple job to fix - as for the indicator not cancelling... mine has never worked on the left and its never bothered me ;) Seriously, best of luck with it mate! Hope it brings you lots of cheap and fun driving :D
  17. I reckon its the same toolbox pixie that hides your 10mm spanner, only to replace it exactly where you have been looking - 5 minutes after you've given up trying to find it and bodged it with a 11mm
  18. An E- Clip is just a different type of circlip... Im not too sure where you owuld get one... its one of those things that I always have in large quantities, and is allways kicking around - but never know where they come from...
  19. I just used an e-clip from my toolbox that I had kicking around - its done the job for over a year now
  20. Donjon you in Peterborough aswell then? Right - whos going to organise this!? 8)
  21. I have a dream similar to that every time I drive mine  - Hence the over compensation of fire extinguishers in her
  22. "I wanted to lick your knees" No not realy, Campervan Beethoven joke there for anyone that appreciates it ;) No seriously, I had a dream the other night that I had sold my rado and had purchased something else. Im not sure what I had bought, but it was something quite special, but I remember regretting it in my dream almost instantly and was wishing I could have it back! I woke up the next morning feeling realy upset, and lost, I had to get up straight away and check out the window to see if I had actually sold it or not! Luckily it was still there and it was all a dream :D Anyone else had something like this? I know exactly why I dreamt it, ive been talking for a few months now about getting rid of it because im fed up of the rattles, creaks, noises, general stuff like that - but having this dream just reinstated my love for it and made me realise I dont think I could ever get rid of it! Ive never been attatched to a vehicle like this - my view has always been that its just a lump of metal that gets moulded into a car, crashed / rusted away etc, then moulded back into something else - its quite scary to be this attatched to an inanimate object!
  23. Mini meet in 'boro would be great! Dont know how many from peterborough are on here though... well, I think 3.
