spoken to Dave about getting some work done, as soon as my car is sprayed and back together i will be in touch!! :D Good luck with the business!! -
good ol boy!!!! not sure i would like that guy telling me exactly how to drive but suppose it helps... looks like a good day, how much was it and what else did ya drive??
-
cant believe how nice they are, WOW!!! :luvlove: one of the nicest cars i have seen for a while, havent seen one of these on the roads yet
-
my car has flash black interior, and a flash exhaust pipe.. maybe there is a wrap somewhere
-
do you mind me asking how much for all that?? im going to gti international and gti festival, but will be in a golf gti :( my corrado is being resprayed by one of my mates so wont be on the road for a few months yet
-
yeah fair play, the belts are pretty kool!! can you send me/post pics of your headlining etc... im wanting to do mine soon, how much is it going to cost you??? what are you doing about the centre console with the light and sunroof switch??? i want all mine black to match oh and number plate sounds kool, i have one waiting to go on my VR, H19 VRG, sort of his vr6, was only cheap...
-
if it was mine, i would put on smoked indicators (work well with white), pressed aluminium plates as already said, passat de locked handles (cant tell if you have them) but not colour coded as it breaks all the white up, and maybe something with the rear badges... apart from that nothing really!! I would maybe buy some inpro fog lights and slightly smoke them to, would look nice, not seen anyone do that!! Love the wheels, colour, interior is awesome (not sure about seat belts either but still pretty cool)... A very nice corrado though mate!!!!

£2000?? BARGAIN!!!!
-
i know what you mean, seems everyone is breaking them up at the minute which is a shame!! :(
-
Ok, got the bodyshop to come out and sort their mess out!! the guy managed to adjust the door latch bolt and hinges so the door sits right now, and im happy enough to take it to my mate to start the respray!! Here are some before and after pics; its hard to see the difference but it must be 4mm, big difference tho when it comes to panels lining up and you want your car to be perfect like me :) Before After
-
hi guys thanks for the sympathy!! luckily a guy from the bodyshop came out this morning, in his car (had to borrow my tools they are that useless), and managed to sort it out... I werent he but my mum told me that he adjusted and tightened some bolts.. I think he just tightened the door latch bolt up really tight, maybe messed with the hinges a bit, but what ever hes done it looks OK now... the door shuts better and im finally happy for it to go have a respray Its hard to tell but if you compare the two pics you can see its better... both pics were taken at the same time and you can see less shadow and it actually runs in line with the sill!!
-
thanks, yeah it is just the bottom bit... they are picking it up in the morning to sort it out!! dont trust them though and would rather someone else done it, but i have spent 1500 getting the parts from VW and labour for all the welding and smoothing they done. have to see what they do this time...

yeah ok, just wanted to change the title to get peoples attention, can i do that with my other thread? just realised i can change the title doh!!!

hey guys, need some help!! i have had some work done on my left rear quarter and they have bodged it up, long story.. ( on a thread a started http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=80746 ) anyway, basically the door doesnt line up with the below sill and its gettin to me!! what can i do about it? should i get it redone (not by the people who done it), is there anyway i can get over it? or should i just get a shell and move all my bits over?? pics arent great but its 5mm at least out and looks stupid!! you cant even see the sill if you look down the door, where the other one is just nice and straight all the way along... i cant leave it like this and respray the car, it will bug me even more when its perfect apart from that!!!!!
-
people would rent these to thrash the crap out of them!! driving the classics like the germans meant them to be driven and all that.. You wouldnt rent one to look after it and go posing in a motor thats not yours??? posing in a brand new ferrari maybe, but these cars are just good fun to drive so i would drive them hard and fast, tyres smoking all weekend!! would be a brilliant present for someone though and a very good idea, but dont think people wont be abusing your cars which you would no doubt grow attached to, 99% will "rape" them as said earlier defiantely people over 25 years old (and im 24 saying that), no points (just at the beginning) and been driving over 5 years or something like that.... thats my thoughts anyway

mcdonalds car park haha, classic!! near me its sainsburys, they all think their too kool for skool :cuckoo:

thanks guys!! the wheels are 7's and 8's unfortunately... i got them off a guy who had just recently polished them, new toyo proxes and H&R adapters for £650... they are in my top 5 rado wheels :D I have paid more than £750... Because the left rear quarter and rear panel were £850, then i have brought a rear bumper aswell with brackets, plus paying the muppets at the garage WAY too much!!!! I still need to fix the spolier, new front bumper as its dented, drivers side door as its got a nasty rust patch and passenger door as it looked like some cowboy has tried to brake into it at some point!! I do like the colour to, but im going to see what my mate whos spraying it reckons.. Im thinking a gun metallic grey with the polished D90's, but i will have to see?? my mind changes quite a lot with things like that!!

Hi everyone I am new to the forum and thought it was time to start a thread on my "PROJECT DUSTBIN".. I have started a few other threads so have got to know some of you already... I brought this VR6, my second Corrado, back in September.. The plan has always to clean it up and make it super nice and super fast!! But before i could start putting my own touch on it (im changing a lot) someone smashed into the back of me making the car a write off category C... I paid 3000 for the car, they offered me 1300 to start with!! i laughed at them and told them to do some research and come back to me.. They did and i got a final offer of 2500, so i had to bite the bullet and take it and my car, which they charged me 10%. So i got 2250 and my car back (jokers)!! Before i go on, heres how it looked when i brought it... So for a starting car it was good, drove really nice and was in pretty good condition for what i paid, has loads of bits done but i wont name them yet... But then some idiot crashed into me at 50-60mph while i was stationary!! Luckily he managed to swerve so the damage werent that bad, but it was enough to do nearly £4000 worth of damage!! heres some pics... So as my car wasnt really driveable and it was at an approved insurance "AND" Volwswagen bodyshop, where it got sent the day of the accident, i thought i would get them to start the work off by welding in the new panels.. BIG MISTAKE!! i got the car back finally today, and it looked like they had used the car as a dustbin in the workshop (hence the name) the work is awful and hopefully my mate can sort the mess out because its that bad!! the door at the bottom doesnt line up, and there was filler on my interior and leather, all over the shell, enough dust to last you a lifetime, even spray on my exhaust!! here are some pics of it... So next its going to my mate and being sorted out and resprayed, not sure what colour yet... Then i will put it back together and fit my new wheels etc I have loads of plans for it!! rotrex charger is on the cards amongst other things so whatch this space... I will update this thread as i go... heres a sneak pic of my wheels;

oh really, i was under the impression there were some that actually fit in the gap nowadays?? anyone have suggestions on how to tackle this??
-
I did all the work in my garage, it is quite big though. I got the bracket modified by the machinist at work in his dinner hour, I now owe him a few pints! And I rebuilt the head on a bench I have in the garage, but basically I've done all the work with the bonnet up. Removing the sump is fun when it's inches above your face. ahh ok, thanks for the "heads up" haha...sorry couldnt help it!! have to see what happens, my car is in the bodyshop and looks like its been dragged out of a river and used as the shop dustbin!! going to be a few weeks yet before i decide how im going to deal with it...
-
hi guys as title says, what intercooler fits the corrado vr6 without modding the bodywork?? ive been told there are a couple on sale nowadays?? If anyone has the dimensions aswell that would be awesome!!
-
ok, just come off the phone to TTS, he reckons i should just throw the SP series in the bin?? rekons cant get parts and wont part ex.... He also says i will need all the oil resevoir and filter etc, as debris could be in the system and it would be contaminated... what do you guys think??? £1420 plus VAT for the kit off them, its $2095 from the US, which works out say £1300 at the min, plus delivery etc... Need to know what you guys think, is he trying to sell kit, or should i just buy the kit for piece of mind???

Have a word with Joni re bkts - he's recently hit & resolved all the probs with them. The issue's I had were as follows: Head need's a great chunk grinding out as you probably know. The hole for the tensioner pulley was not quite in the right place. One of the mounting holes was not quite in the right place. The locating pin was a shade too long. I also needed to cut a few screws down. So the equipment you will require is: Lathe. Milling machine. Grinder. stupid question probly, but did you do the work on a bench or in the car? i was under the impression you did it all with the bonnet up?? dont know a lot do i haha i think im goin to have to rent a lock up garage for 6 months, have a rebuild and fit a rotrex etc at same time...

yeah ok mate, will ring them this afternoon and let you know...
