  1. I've owned this car for almost 2 years now and since moving jobs I no longer use it so it's sadly time to go carless. Since the last MOT in Feb I've done 3000miles in it. Front tyres have done around 1500 miles so have loads of life left. I've just replaced the front discs, completed a oil & filter change and had a new MAF sensor fitted all with the last few weeks. I have lots of paperwork including Seat dealer service history up to 2008, a large stack of old MOTs and also both keys. In September last year the turbo bearing went causing turbo damage. A new bearing and turbine shaft was fitted for a successful turbo rebuild done by a professional. I have receipts to show this has been done. The car has done around 6000miles since the rebuild. 3 months I bought it the previous owner had a new engine fitted, due to an oil pump failure, that had done 55,000 miles so despite the high mileage the engine fitted has done around 65,000. At the time the cambelt, water pump, oil pump were all replaced, I have all the paperwork for this. The 6-speed gearbox still feels great. MOT - FULL MOT - FEB 2015 Tax - 31st May 2013 The bonnet has unfortunately faded on the front edge, a respray of the bonnet would fix this but it's never bothered me too much and other than a small dent in the nearside sill (see photos) the car is in great condition. It always brings a smile to my face when driving it and it will be a shame to see it go. The car is HPI clear so buy with confidence. Price - £1595 Thanks for looking.

  3. You'll love the M3 mate. A friend has a 1997 M3 Evo with 17k on the clock (yes 17000 miles) - it is a timewarp and an absolute dream to drive! Those engines are just amazing! You will enjoy!

  5. Yeah I did have a fueling issue which I think I've not sorted. Just its drained me so much. I wasn't meant to be buying something that needed work but it ended up that way, done the SC, the TB's, cambelt, all filters, oil service all myself and if something else goes wrong i think i'll want to crash it into a tree lol
  6. Yeah I hear what you're saying. I bought the G60 because I used to have a G40 and I could get 40mpg out of that. The G60 just seems to be an untamable engine for my right foot. Thing is I've always been into my cars and especially the VW's and it was just frustrate me driving off the drive in a Golf leaving the C on the drive and not being able to use it everyday. Yeah could be an option mic, with that sort of milage I want it to be comfortable hence looking at something a bit newer. I really need to try and make a decision as you're all making me want to keep which is what I'd love to do...
  7. Yeah I'd love to keep it but I just cant justify using it as a second car. I'd only be looking at spending about £1500-2000 on a Golf TDi so depreciation wouldn't be so bad. I'm fairly ok with servicing work so thats not something I have to factor in. I know I need to be a bit more discipline with the right foot, every time I drive my Dad's Passat TDi i'm always keen on how far I can get the fuel to go, I dont seem to be able to do that with the G60 :( I like the idea of LPG but I'm not sure if it's doable on a G60. I wouldn't want to do an engine conversion to TDi but ending the life of another G60 would be shameful. I just don't know what to do, my Golf GTi was so much better on fuel I'm tempted to go back to that for a bit (I've still got it)
  8. Yeah I knew it was going to be bad but before I was getting 35mpg out of my Mk3 Golf GTi 16v and I'd heard you can get 35 out of the G60 but as far as I can see, even when careful and filling the tank before doing an eco run its not possible
  9. I just can't manage it. I'm getting around 25mpg cos my commute is on a great piece of road. Every slight opportunity to pass something it has to be done. Maybe the boost is still just too much of a new thing at the min. I can store it, keep it, etc, but if i'm not using it everyday then theres not much point in having it. At 25mpg and my current milage it's costing me £500 a month just in fuel :-(
  10. Hi, Well I've had my Corrado G60 a few months now and I love it to bits. There were a few issues when I bought it and I've now sorted (almost) all of them. However I came to a realisation today that I'm going to have to sell up and get a diesel. I do 2000+ miles a month and with fuel prices and the G60's love of drinking the stuff I can't convince myself that I can afford it any longer. I'm totally gutted as I've dreamed of owning a G60 Corrado for about 10 years. I've enjoyed my ownership but it's just a disappointment that I can't continue the dream. I'm sticking with VAG of course and I'm on the looking out for a Mk5 or Mk4 GT TDi. Hopefully I'm making the right decision James
  11. Dragon Green (looked VR6) on the A47 this morning between Glaston & Uppingham @ about 9AM - first C driver to acknowledge me on the road :-)
  12. Ok changed the ECU vacuum hose and its a bit better but still not right. Anymore ideas? ---------- Post added at 05:17 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:11 PM ---------- OK just checked the MFA for boost pressure readings and its a bit odd. The first option (checksum) just displays C10, don't know what this means. The boost pressure reading stays at a constant 750 no matter what the revs so something clearly isn't right there? The oil temp isn't showing would this affect running?
  13. Yeah and trickling tiny black smoke on idle
  14. It's popping a bit but also just chucking out a cloud of fuel under acceleration. It idles likes a dream and runs perfect in every other way. I've adjusted the co2 pot to 550ohms. The ECU cable looks like it's already been replaced and looks in good condition. I'm really running out of options and I'm started to get a little tired of it

  16. Ok so I've replaced blue temp sensor and lambda sensor and it's still kicking out unburnt fuel and giving me poor MPG. Only done 30miles worth of driving since changing. Would the lambda and temp sensor change affect issues instantly?
  17. Today saw a White 16V on my way home on the A606 just coming into Stamford. Came up behind, slightly speedily in my G60
  18. @ Danny Yeah dewedging has been interesting. On my brothers G40 we fully ported to 51 mm then re manufactured some butterflies with no wedges and no bolts through them. This made the G40 throttle like a motorbike in terms of the way it revs. It's just so fast. So we've done a similar thing on the G60 and the result is a very fast opening throttle and at first it's difficult but now I don't even bat an eyelid at it. It's just something you need to get used to. @ monkey Yeah thats what this seems to be doing. At night with the lights on it's like it's pulsing. I tried some 'belt grip spray' like a glue to prevent belt slip and this helped it for about a day but it's back to it's old tricks. VW used to sell the bushes kit for about a tenner if I remember. Is this still the case?
  19. I'll check it out in the morning and perhaps if it's wrong call g-werks. I'm guessing stretch can be a problem overtime
  20. I think so. I'm running a 68mm pulley but not changed the belt from the 'kit' one so presumed it's fine. What length should it be?
  21. Hmm I guess you have a point there. It's a new alternator only 6months ago so I doubt it's the bushes
  22. Hi, My belt tensioner is started to look a little tired and i've noticed occasionally the battery light flickering, i think this is because the belt is slipping on the alternator thus not creating enough power. Are the solid tensioners worth getting or is replacing the tensioning spring the way to go? Cheers, James
  23. Blue G60 at Threxton Road industrial estate in Watton, Norfolk. Looked very nice
  24. Bare in mind that the price on Euro's website is plus VAT. Just ordered one myself from euro, these weren't a 'service part' as the 30% discount requires. £94.80 lighter, it better fix my issue lol
