I'd definately be up for a meet at MK Bally, next time one is arranged let me know.
-
Unfrotunately not either of those mate. I work for a company called Smalltalk Communications, mobile phones. I'm very near the car stereo shop, called Audio Video Care. Our office is nearly above them, just to the right as you look at it. If you are nearby at all, my car is always parked round the back if you wanna have a look, just give the door a buzz.

I work in Watford, and see a couple of different C's once or twice a week, queing up outside my work. I'm sure I've seen yours Mark, as one is a green 16v. The other is a dark coloured VR. I work on Langley Road, right near the traffic lights onto St Albans Road.

How many of you guys on here are from around the Herts/Beds area. If there are a few, are there any meets at all, as I think it would be good to meet up and get a close up look at some of the motors I have seen on here.

Good on you mate, you'll love it! Whats the rest of the spec, colour etc?
-
I think that I may need to adjust the cables for my gearbox, as getting the car into second can be a bit "porridgy" at times. How do I do that, or do I need to take it to someone? Cheers.
-
My outside temp wasn't working either, but when I had the rad replaced, it started working?!
-
It seems to open directly in Excel, and is all gibberish?
-
Cheers Ady, can't seem to get it to open though mate.
-
Just a quickie. Do the induction kits need to be taken of and re-oiled the same as the panel filters?
-
Kev, I had my rad replaced at the weekend, and I'm pretty sure that the garage that did it would of filled the collant via the expansion tank. How can I check if there are any air locks, or will I have to drain the system completely and do it again? The car doesn't overheat at all, and the water had to be topped up the next morning, so it must of used a bit on the drive home.

I want to get the gearbox oil on my VR changed, as the changes don't feel really positive. I do have a slight problem getting the car out of reverse sometimes as well. I changed it on my MKII GTI, and it made the world of difference. Should I use the same stuff as I did for my golf, (Redline MTL was very good), or perhaps something else. Also how much will I need? Cheers guys.

Sorry, forgot to say, all sorted now, he took it all out and just cut the wire.
-
As I said, it only does it under acceleration, so I would say that would eliminate wind/road noise as that would be doing it constantly wouldn't it? Thanks for the replys though guys.
-
Hi guys, I have a noise coming from the passenger side wheel arch, that can best be described as a fluttering. It is fairly quite, and is only audible when the throttle is used. Any ideas what it could be? Cheers.

I had mine done on Saturday, and it was £80 for the rad + £70 labour.

A red G60 at the Stevenage enterprise centre, don't know if iy was being repaired or having some bodywork done, from about 9.30 in the morning, till gone 12. Dark green not sure if G60 or 16v in the shell petrol station by Hitchin football club yestersday at aroubd 12.30. Both looked very nice!
-
That's exactly what he had to do Kev, as whoever fitted the other guys stereo looked like he just threw it at the dash, and where ever all the wires landed he connected them. It was a right mess!
-
Cheers henny, I'll take it back and get it dis-connected then.
-
Hi guys, I had the stereo from my MKII fitted to my VR yesterday, and everything was fine untill I got upto 70ish MPH, and the spoiler hadn't gone up. It still works manually, but it wont go up at 56, or down under 10. Has the guy at the stereo place cut a wire he shouldn't have? Cheers for the help.
-
Cheers Henny, will do. Certainley don't want any accidents, I've got to take it in on Saturday for a new rad. Luckily for me the old man is in the industry and has managed to get one for 80 quid.

I've just got my VR6, and I'm not sure if the ABS works or not. When I hold my foot on the brake pedal when starting, the pedal kind of "flicks", for want of a better word, once. The light goes of ok without any problems. I wasn't sure if it was functioning correctly, but I had to brake pretty hard to prevent a spin the other day in the wet, because of some idiot pulling out on a roundabout in front of me. I don't think the wheels locked up, but in all the excitement i can't remember fully. Does it sound like it is working or not? Cheers guys.

Just out of curiosity, what temp do you guys let your oil get to before you start giving it a bit, (on a VR btw). The reason I ask is that by the time I get to the M1 in the mornings, mine is at about 90 ish, so I never know wether I should go for it, or wait untill it's around the 100 mark?

Spoiler stops working below freezing!?

My MFA doesn't show outside temp, but it did on my MKII?
