Had you a price in mind for the spoonfed? -
Yes it’s a VR, ordered the “TwoWinds” from Amazon. It was about £69 and seems ok for the money

Refurbished BOSCH, apparently....

Just as an update, after some fault finding back at home as the garage were claiming a £4500 engine rebuild it turned out the MAF I’d replaced was also faulty. Now runs better than it has in years!
-
Holy thread resurrection but do you still do these?
-
Fitted a new foliage filter, realised the clips missing and has been the source of the water leak! Next up, new Maf

Has anyone got the late plug and some of the loom so I can piece it in if needed? Thanks
-
It's got a decat, worth a mention re objects in the exhaust though.

Thanks all, waiting a call back so I can ask what they've actually checked up to now. I'm dubious about it being the chain.
-
Symptoms were refusing to idle as kept cutting out unless you kept your foot on the gas and misfiring. So far I've changed changed the coolant temp sensor, tried a different MAF and coilpack. Scanned and it initially threw a Lambda fault code which didn't come back. The usual cam position fault is the only other thing and that's been checked. We've drained the tank in case of off fuel which it wasn't and a new Lambda fitted. Cars at the garage so I can't get any pics, I'll ring them tomorrow to find what they've done comprehensively. Plugs and leads are certainly no more than perhaps 1500 miles old however it had been sat.

Hi all, So far the VR has been in the garage being "fault found" for almost three weeks. We've had the Lambda replaced which hasn't solved the issue and now the garage are suggesting changing the timing chain as they consider this to be the reason for the rough running. Symptoms are rough idle / missfire so it sounds like a tractor and makes driving impossible. Thoughts on this from anyone more technical please as I didn't consider this would be the fault. Thanks

Holy thread resurrection Bat man! Well after almost two years sat in a dusty unit with the occasional rough start up we finally got our backsides in gear and booked her in to have the rough running sorted. Trailered the old girl from storage to the garage last weekend. Lambda sensor replaced at the weekend after a weeks worth of fault finding at the garage, so just waiting for the call to say she's running right now. MOT started and highlighted a couple of issues which included a few bushes and a gaiter so pretty happy with that considering she's sat for so long. Sadly the length of time its taken the garage this last week meant I had to cancel the appointment with the detailer and miss Awesome-GTI's Summer bash but not to worry we are on the right track. Couple pics for attention purposes.

How bad is the crack in the rear centre lights?
-
If these are still available end of July I'll take them!

After recommendations for an indoor dust cover please. I know there's lots about but wondered if there's any to avoid etc. My Corrado is currently in quite a dusty storage unit and being moved to a mates garage to have a few bits done and I'd like it covered.

Having powder coated mine black a few years back i'm now after an hem silver one thats ready to clean up. Any floating about?

Has anyone had the gauges stick in the off position? Since she's been sat about the fuel gauge and temp gauge often need a knock on the glass to become unstuck from the off position. Wondered if perhaps its moisture and just needs a few runs out.
-
Thanks all, Cant wait to head down next week and get her cleaned off.

Well this is what happens when you find storage miles away from home and she's not on the drive to stare at daily...... months pass without any work and she's generally forgotten about. Alas with starting a new photography business and spending my free time caught up with that we've really lost track of time. Nipped down after a last seeing the old girl in February time leaving with huge plans of show season 2016. Pleased to get her started and a little drive around the private grounds to the different storage spot. Ok so she ran like crap but she was missing when she went in so no biggy, anyway here a quick iPhone pic as she rolled out dusty but in way better condition than if shed been sat on my driveway open to the elements. Anyway after the wife mentioning regularly about selling up she followed me to the new unit and commented on how good she looks on the "road" she agreed she doesn't want rid either. Onwards and upwards, she's in storage for a short time longer then off to have some of the work i want doing completed ready for 2017. I'll be re-visiting in the next few weeks for another start, a clean, tyre pressure check, a splash of new fuel and a job lost made so i can make a start on ordering more parts. Ideally i'll be completing: Rough running issue fixed - Scan shows lambda sensor Subframes off and powder coated. New pads/discs All bushes renewed Track rod ends and associated bits. Rear lights re-tinting and lacquered
