  9. Thanks for the advice, I'm trying to locate the idle speed control valve, is it located under the back plastic engine cover? Thanks
  10. After a blast around the local roads I parked up my Corrado vr6 and noticed the idle was pulsing from 1000 rpm to 2000 rpm as if a ghost was pumping the throttle pedal. I switched the engine off and then on again but the same thing happened. So I let the engine cool down for 30 minutes and started her again and the idle was back down at approx 700rpm and not pulsing, all OK. Does anyone know what may have caused this? Thanks
  11. Hi there, firstly I would check the large electrically plug connected to the front of the abs unit, try removing and cleaning with electrically contact cleaner. I found I couldn't get the plug off at first but when I grasped it in my hand from underneath and pulled it came off pretty easily. My car had only covered 10k in 7 years and VW stated on a 2007 service sheet that it needed a brake fluid service. I read on this forum that old brake fluid may cause abs valve errors (which mine had) so I got the local vw specialist to change the fluid and the fault eventually cleared completely after a few days and hasn't come back (fingers crossed). Do you know how old the brake fluid is?
  12. Just a quick update, the abs now functions as it should and the light always goes off as it should, so I reckon it's all fixed.
