1. Morning everyone apologies if this has been covered before, but I wouldn't mind some clarification I've just sourced some 288mm calipers/carriers for the brake conversion and did a search on the wiki and found the 312mm brake conversion guide... on it it references the 288mm calipers being the same size this is a legit question but, can you run 312mm discs with 288mm calipers if they're the same size? or am I way out, I will be buying the discs soon so be good to know which to go for cheers
2. All seems good now, nice hot seats for the rest of winter Thanks for info guys
3. Well, I've soldered the split back up now and insulated it, had to shorten the wire a slight bit but nothing too excessive and checked the back area, all seemed fine round there so just a case of putting it back in now. I'm gonna take the seat back out in a week and check it to make sure its not burnt again anywhere
4. bit of a late reply on this, but after getting settled in my new job and some time to spare I finally got around to taking my seat cover off as explained, when I came across this bit of a mess, don't quite know where to go from here, has the split in the wire caused the burning, or did the wire burning cause it to break? 5. HI there Adam, welcome to the forum lol
6. looking good for red/white then, I was thinking about reversing the filter on the climatronic unit like I've done on the MFA LCD and changing it to white as well, just don't want to go OTT with it all.
7. Trying to decide what to do with my dash, I went through my switches and changed the LED's to red and my dash to red/white to match my Climatronic which I was going to change the display to white to match But I've now got another set of switches, all original green and been offered a set of clocks that are stock, so I can't decide if to keep the red/white theme and eventually get DDI clocks, or put it all back to stock and replace the LED's for more brighter green LED's Comments and opinions welcome This is how I currently have it all, ignore all the dash plastics, it's a mess, changed the DVD player for a normal stereo that is also white/red
8. I didn't do these today, but a couple of weeks ago I sorted out a few niggles that have been annoying me on the C, other bits were just stuff I wanted to change. Had to travel from Manchester to Bridlington and cram it all into a landrover. So here they are Niggle #1 Having an early spec bonnet on a VR6 with a broken striker that caused it to pop up on one side every now and then. New bonnet fitted, paints not spot on but I'll be getting it sorted sometime after Christmas Niggle #2 Wrong/Busted slam panel, crumpled and paint falling off. Fresh slam panel #3 Odd taillights Standard lights on Not so much a niggle, but I always wanted these and got them for a steal so I couldn't say no even though the originals were very clean New Seats Old aircon switch to heated seat switch And also replaced a lot of switches/plastic trim that had been damaged over the year All swapped done and swapped in a day :D
9. sweet be nice if I can get it working before the temps really drop when it did work, for like... 2 days, it took a while to heat up, could this cause that as well as the wire might not have been getting a full contact?
10. Cheers Ram I will have a look tomorrow, I need to test the passangers side is working proper as well because I'm taking the Mrs word for it, but this will be my first go to if it works
11. Hi guys sorry if this has been covered, I had a search for the problem I was having but I couldn't find anything. I've managed to get a set of heated seats for my C, I took them out myself so I managed to get the loom/switches as well, so I've fitted them in and put in the relays/loom etc... and both worked for a bit, but now the drivers side one has stopped working. I can hear the relay click when I turn the seat on, but there's no signs of a voltage drop like you get on the passangers seat. The loom had two wires on it, a grey with a blue tracer which is for the illumination, the other was a black wire with a white tracer which I assume to be the main power as the ground seems to be done at the relay end, so I've tested one of the wires in the fuze and found an ignition live. Anyone any ideas what can cause this, or a wiring diagram to make sure I've put it in right. Any help would be great as winters well on its way
12. Haha Where did I go pass you? I probably wasn't paying proper attention... Which is bad because I was driving Sent from my LT26i using Tapatalk 2
13. I can't say I've ever seen you but I'll keep keep an eye out next time I'm down that way, you on clubpolo? You might know my mate from there with the 6n1, or Scotty from Manch:union? Sent from my LT26i using Tapatalk 2
14. Haha yea, that'll be me with my mate, I wouldn't mind knowing who that blue corrado belongs to, its really tidy Sent from my LT26i using Tapatalk 2
15. I've just moved from dukinfield. I know the one you mean, I think I've seen it up at Morrison's once but never seen the owner Sent from my LT26i using Tapatalk 2

Vr6 isv

I think mine has bite the dust, so if anyone has one on a car they're breaking could you let me know cheers
17. Hello everyone, hope you're all doing well. I had a search around on here with my issue and I'm guessing it's going to be a vac leak but I thought I'd best ask on here first before I go replacing pipes. My VR6 used to idle at about 750rpm, but was a bit lumpy and hesitated sometimes when you let off the throttle, but my radiator went recently and I managed to pick up a new Hella one and got it fitted. After it got fitted I noticed my revs on idle lifted to about 900rpm and the engine started hunting a bit, so the other day I removed my ISV and gave it a good clean, put it back on and now my revs are sitting at 1000+ and seems to lift slightly as the engine warms up, and they've started bouncing as well when I started it today. I'm waiting on my mate who has Vagcom and a OBD2 to OBD1 converter so I can code read it, but until I get him to look at it is there anything I can look at? I tested the ISV by shorting it on the battery and it opened and closed no problems, I pulsed it about 6 times so I assume it's working? Should I be looking at replacing the blue temp sender? Any help would be great ---------- Post added at 7:11 PM ---------- Previous post was at 7:07 PM ---------- Also, which is probably unrelated, but I've noticed the cooling fans are kicking in a little later than they used to, usually the fan would run a little at 90 degrees, then cut out, then it would hold the temp a little higher than 90, now the initial fan won't kick in till around 97 degrees and it holds it temp at around 100 degrees
18. Get cracking on fitting yours mate... when weather permits anyways
19. Possibly, would do until I can get a Hella one, any ideas how much postage to Manchester will be?
20. I know, I just hoped someone possibly had a good condition one knocking around, was worth a shot anyway cheers man
21. as per title, I need a radiator in good condition as mine burst the other day and I don't have money to buy one new right now cheers
22. Jay told me the same thing with the Octavia climatroni and they should be interchangeable, would be ideal so you could keep the original green theme. Can the filter over the climatronic digital display be changed do you know? I'd like to change it to white/black then get some DDI clocks, get some red/white colouring going on. Question, when you fitted the climatronic display, did you fit it in front of the centre console holes or behind them? if you know what I mean, mines fitted in front of them and I think it is sat too far forward, getting the cover tonight, try and make it look a bit more stock
23. That looks spot on, I'm gonna ask my mate for the surround tonight from the Bora, it's the walnut effect style but it will do till I can get one of eBay. I've got the early VR so I'm on OBD1 but I left all the Climatronic loom in there so it's always an option if I ever converted to OBD2, did you use the Kuftec loom? or made your own from the original loom? I've just found these which I'm thinking of getting and changing all my switches to red and film on the trip computer, get it all matching http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VW-Passat-35i-Corrado-T4-plasma-glow-dials-260-KMH-DG-/220448600958?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item3353c2b37e#ht_3035wt_1139
24. Ah ok, well I could take a pic of them tonight if you want and see if they're any help, you do have a fair few sets of clocks don't you
25. Looking really good, my mate has a set of sports clocks from the V5 Bora which I nicked the climatronic out of, I don't know if they're the sports clocks you're referring to but he's probably selling them
