for sale Aqua Blue VR6 for £4600 in Suffolk
Pat_McCrotch replied to Pat_McCrotch's topic in Cars for Sale [Corrado]
(continued as I could only put 10,000 words in the first post :) ) The car recently passed it's MOT with no advisories. So it has 12 months MOT and 12 months Tax. This Corrado is rare in the sense that you can drive it away and not have to spend a penny on it. Ask anyone who's bought one and they'll usually tell you they've had to spend at least a grand in the first month  I will give an explanation of why I am selling. I have recently purchased my first house and whilst it does have a garage I've now finally come to the realisation that the Corrado will most likely be abandoned financially in the pursuit of the perfect home and I just couldn't bare to see that happen as it's in such good nick. (As we all know these cars need regular pound sterling fairy dust.) Also, I am moving a good 45 minutes away from the family so I need something cheaper to run and insure. Also, I want be able to be able to take the nephews for days out etc, this is impossible in the Corrado as child seats either don't fit or damage the leather/boulsters. So I am in real need for a 4 door saloon/shed instead. I've been kidding myself for the last couple of months that I can keep it, but i'd just be sacrificing too much. Finally, having had one of my oldest friends commit suicide recently I've kind of re-evaluated how my time is spent and decided that my best years/weekends should be spent seeing friends and not holed up in a garage  I'll save that when I'm older. Just thought I would give an explanation and say that I have not lost the love, I am selling purely for necessity and I can't afford to run a shed and keep the Corrado. I really do adore it and will be sad to see it go :( Someof items replaced and bills in the last 14 months (all items are genuine parts). All work carried out by myself. All bills are from Ipswich Audi (place of work) unless otherwise stated. Items were purchased at staff rate so in reality they would actually cost 20% more ;) 20/01/2011: Heater Controls £40.28 20/01/2011: Blue Temp Sensor £12.67 21/01/2011: Front Radiator grille, badge and few interior clips: £38.08 25/01/2011: Speedometer surround, x2 new keys with lights, Top Mounts: £111.78 26/01/2011: New Exhaust rubbers and bulkhead plugs. £6.32 26/01/2011: Screws for engine bay: £8.64 26/01/2011: Washers for engine bay: £4.80 27/01/2011: New Cigarette lighter (the logo had faded off the old one) £8.64 27/01/2011: New Wheel Nut Covers. £3.07 01/02/2011: TT Wiper Setup: £91.63 01/02/2011: New Windscreen. £70 excess 01/02/2011: Wurth Octane Booster: £7.28 01/02/2011: New First Aid kit (old one out of date) £19.92 01/02/2011: New Mats. £45.00 31/01/2011: Upper Windscreen rubber. £7.24 31/01/2011 New Wiper Cowling Trims: £120.00 02/02/2011: Wiper Arm nut caps: £1.97 02/02/2011: New warning stickers for engine + interior clips: £7.96 03/02/2011: Windscreen rubber. £23.36 03/02/2011: Engine bay stickers: £2.96 03/02/2011: Warning Triangle: £10.64 03/02/2011: Number plate light screws and washers: £2.90 08/02/2011: Clutch, Clutch lever, bolts, NS door lock. £195.05 09/02/2011: NSR wheel bearing. £19.00 16/02/2011: Oil Filter. £7.81 18/02/2011: Coolant Reservoir: £27.04 18/02/2011: Wurth Fuel Additive. £7.13 21/02/2011: Synta Silver 10W-40 oil. £8.02 22/02/2011: NS door central locking control valve. £29.36 22/02/2011: Clear Tape (for upper door area, the clear stuff). £11.98 28/02/2011: x6 Spark Plugs, Interior clips. £40.98 24/02/2011: Air Mass Meter. £150.00 28/02/2011: More wheel caps! £5.02 28/02/2011: Wheels Refurbed: £200.00 28/02/2011: x4 Continental Tyres. £370.00 01/03/2011: Front Engine mount: £60.01 02/03/2011: Rear Engine Mounts & bolts: £120.00 07/03/2011: Door Contact Switch: £4.18 07/03/2011: Anti Roll Bar Bushes, bolts, spare oil filters: £36.11 07/03/2011: New Set of Speedline Wheel Caps to go with the refurbed wheels. £30.84 07/03/2011: Exhaust Retainers: £34.99 08/03/2011: More bolts! VR6 | Aqua Blue | Suffolk Price: £4600 Description: Right, here we go :( Background history of the car The car was produced at Karmann (obviously) in September1994 and registered at Nigel Grogan Chelmsford in January 1995. It spent a very short period in Chelmsford, then another 3 years in Colchester, followed by 10 years being owned & garaged by a gentleman in Ardleigh (outskirts of Colchester) with no expense spared on maintenance at the local Colchester Volkswagen dealer. I even have a receipt for £1400 for Chain tensioner replacement...and this was in 2007! (although they stupidly didn't replace the clutch at the same time, this was done in May 2011) Very sadly, in 2008 the 3rd owner discovered he had MS and kept the car for as long as he could reasonably drive it for and in mid-2010 put it up for sale. It was then purchased by someone in Ipswich. In August 2010 I saw the car drive past at a T junction and stalked the owner into Sudbury as it looked so spotless! I gave him my card and said if he ever fancied selling to give me a call. It actually turned out he used to be the drummer in my brothers band. Small world! Anyway, in January 2011 he contacted me and a week later the deal was done :) And as of then I have made it my obsession to make it the one of the most factory standard Corrado's on the road. Ironically something that in the end cost me allot more than if I went aftermarket! The Car VW Corrado VR6 finished in Aqua Blue with rare grey leather interior Date of Production: 09/1994 Date of Registration:21/01/1995 Mileage: 112,100 (although this will increase slightly with use) Tax: 12 months MOT: 12 months (passed with no advisories) Summary - Basically, with the exception of the TT Wiper upgrade, TT solid front bushes, Chinese Jetta Headlight switch and re-covered leather steering wheel. It is one of the most original Corrado's you will ever see. Even the rubbish dealer fit alarm has been removed and put to standard. I even went to the trouble of sourcing a period Gamma 4 radio to match the green backlighting of the dash. (this is how sad I am). I've also retrofitted an OEM CD Changer loom into the boot (but haven't yet found a period CD player to go in) - Engine uses no oil whatsoever between servicing. So no oval bores! Chains & tensioners replaced by Colchester Volkswagen in 2009 and clutch replaced 7 months ago. - Over £5,000 in genuine parts and maintenance spent in the last 14 months. All documented with receipts. All genuine parts used, I don't settle for anything less as I sell them for a living ;) - Garaged from new up until I purchased it in January 2011. This is why it's in such exceptional condition. Will soon be going back into a garage until it is sold. - Recently had all rust sorted including the common rear number plate light area. Front bumper, kick plate areas, both wings, doors and 'windows' out quarter panels sprayed. - Everything works as it should. Spoiler, sunroof etc. If anything wasn't working it would soon be sorted, it's how I roll :) - Full VW History with the exception of the last one which I carried out myself. There is a gap between 2009 and 2010 on the servicing but it's purely because it did so little mileage in this time (barely 3,000 in two years) as I spent more time tarting it up than driving it. - Car is fitted with a private plate, M6 PPS. If you really want we can come to some sort of arrangement for the car without the plate, but to be honest it does help hide the age of the car . My friends thought the car was about 4 years newer than it actually was when I first showed it to them. The car would be an 'M' plate without the private one. Services: 22nd September 1995. 10,318 miles (VW) 11th April 1996. 19,758 miles (VW) 31st January 1997. 30,247 miles (VW) 13th February 1998. 37,939 miles (VW) 10th February 1999. 44,944 miles (VW) 27th August 1999. 56,307 miles (VW) 4th February 2000. 63,831 miles (VW) 17th January 2001. 73,618 miles (VW) 21st January 2002. 83,886 miles (VW) 30th January 2003. 88,311 miles (VW) September 2004. 90,657 miles (VW) January 2005. 94,147 miles (VW) 1st February 2007. 100,028 miles (VW) January 2008. 103,262 miles (VW) 27th January 2009. 104,994 (VW) 06th January 2011. 110,600 miles (Self Service) Downsides? I feel like I have to put a downside even though for a 17 year old car there aren't really any. The bonnet has a couple of stone chips which i'm getting filled in and mopped next week and the rear screen plastic surround has a tiny 5mil chunk out of it. This trim is now obsolete on it's own but comes with a new rear screen so you could sort a new one on your windscreen excess for £70 if you wanted to be really fussy. The drivers seat boulsters are in good nick but the leather on the upper boulster areas is starting to crack slightly. Front leather seat retrim was pretty much my last job to do. In light of the exceptional condition the price of the car is £4600 ono. If you do not want the private plate we can negotiate the price further. The car is currently garaged and I will be bringing it out next weekend to get more photos for this advert. I'm not in a massive rush to sell so call me on 01787 371804 if you want to arrange a viewing (I can only do weekends :( )

Cracked the screen on my iPhone last week and thought I would have a go at replacing it myself. Big mistake as I ripped off the connector on the motherboard and I now have a iPhone that's useless. Spoke to Orange and they say I can't upgrade until May 10th and that if I want to upgrade early to another phone i'll have to pay £110!! Was going to go to Tesco and buy a cheap phone for a tenner until May 10th but they are all locked to Tesco PAYG :( I fancy another Blackberry to be honest. Can anyone recommend somewhere I can buy one that isn't locked? Or recommend any other phone?

G28 went down this week, more money!!! The satisfaction for me is when you've finished fitting that broken/warn bit. It's like a project that's never finished. What does bother me though is bodywork, but i've finally accepted that I will never get it to the standard I want (i.e. as new) as it's nearly 20 years old

No joy mate, only alternative is the air con version (M) but it doesn't seem to say what the difference is? Some more bad news, there are no more glovebox cover strips left. Old stock exhausted and currently no plans to re-introduce them :(
