There seem to be a lot of people selling at the moment
Pat_McCrotch replied to Portent's topic in General Car Chat
People getting fed up of driving them in the crap weather I imagine. Corrado's aren't the nicest thing in to drive in the winter. I'm rolling around in a 2004 3.0 S-Type with electric everything that cost me a shade under £2000...so i'm not surprised people are selling if they can get £3k+ for a decent VR6. Although they will no doubt regret it when the sun comes out ;) -
Right, did the spray bottle test and did about 3 minutes of spraying. It arc'ed about 2-3 times on the lower part of the coil? If it was fubared would it be doing it constantly? Or is the fact it's arc'ed at all a sign it's fooked?

Funnily enough, i've got a brand new Sony 6CD player that is for a 1999-2002 SEAT Ibiza radio. I believe it is designed to go in the glovebox It does have a harness but it's the red and white style that you get with normal aftermarket 6CD Changers? But this was a proper SEAT/VW approved part so imagine it must splice somehow? £25 posted do?

Looks pleasant enough :) Give it a look i'm sure they'll bite your arm off at £800 cash. -
Get the lips painted Titan Grey Matt (8AU - Audi colour). Easy to maintain and will look the dogs :)

Good idea. I probably won't get in there until May so at least I won't be using the heating much and can get a better grasp of what the bills will be :) It's been nearly 3 years since I put anything on tick so it's going to be strange having lots of money going out of my account again :( I like that fireplace too, neutral (no bling), small, won't date and made by John Lewis :) The Corrado is going from 10,000 miles a year to 3000 miles, being garaged and no more commuting so *touch wood* i'm hoping my insurance will at least half :)

Yup, I remember we had one like that installed when my Dad had our bungalow built...that was 1981 Anyone got any experience of wall mounted electric fires? Looks like quite a neat install :) http://www.diy.com/nav/rooms/fires-surrounds/fires/wall_hung_fires

Finally getting on the property ladder and had an offer agreed on house in Ipswich :) Includes a garage for the Corrado of course ;) The property in question is 15-18 years old and is in need of some modernisation in places (lick of paint needed, coved ceilings, sapele doors etc) but the one thing that confuses me is that the property has no chimney but a gas fireplace? I have attached a picture. Ideally I wanted a log burner but have been told this isn't a possibility due to the lack of chimney? :( Now, my options are; - Replace with a more modern looking fireplace, but perhaps a waste of money as it is an Energy Efficiency rating of C anyway? - Remove the fireplace and surround, gain a little more living space and save cash not replacing it. But everyone I've spoken to moans that there will be no 'central point'? Would a 52 inch television be classed as a central point ;) - That the log burner statement was incorrect? The people i'm buying it off have said it's a warm house anyway. So any advice?

The VR has developed a slight missfire when cold but seems normal when up to temperature. Is this a sign of a coil going down? :( Is there any physical way to check?
