  1. Does anyone know if my old VR6 is still on the go?
  2. Best Corrado colour by miles IMHO.
  3. Looks excellent - cant wait to see finished project!
  4. I couldn't really comment on the S3 vs TT 225 to be honest - only the 3.2V6, which as I said was much more fun.
  5. After owning Corrados for 6yrs, I now have a MKI Audi TT 3.2V6 DSG and I am totally in love with it. Best car I've ever owned - I'd still name my VR6 as my favourite car that I've owned though. The TT in 3.2V6 guise is gorgeous and a head turner - DSG is incredible. It feels to me like a Modern Corrado and I love it. It's all personal opinon I suppose but you must admit that the original TT is a unique car - being developed almost exactly like the Concept Car and the styling was pretty ground breaking for the time - plus it's already a classic - folk are still driving them in 2035 (I Robot)! lol As for the S3 - I had one before the TT and I hated the driving experience in it - TT steering is much more responsive - albeit with a slight understeering tendency. The S3 was too ordinary and boring looking and sounded awful compared with the V6. It was definitely more practical with the 2 rear seats actually being able to sit adults!
  6. Yeah there are a fair few DSG horror stories going about. I actually find the fuel consumption pretty good - I think that when it's in Drive mode it's short shifting lower down the rev range than you would if you were driving manually. I find I'm getting more miles in the TT than I did in the S3 - but then I did have to scream about in that to get any engine note! :D Good to hear from you "too hot" - did your mate get the DSG problem sorted? Does he still have the car? Graeme (macscorcher) is taking good care of the VR - sent me some nice photos of the old girl. Still looking good!
  7. I've gotta say - it's really great hearing from both you guys. I was in 2 minds about sticking my photos on here but I'm glad I did. :D
  8. Hey Big, Good to hear from you man, how's married life treating you? I'm getting married in July! I'm totally loving the TT, the S3 had a lot of good points but didn't do it for me in a lot of areas after the VR6. The engine note of the S3 was crap, paint was starting to turn pink too - so I got rid of it before it caused me more probs. The TT is immaculate and it's great hearing the V6 noise again. The DSG is awesome - still adjusting to driving an auto - but it's really quick and combined with the Quattro is great fun. Sport mode is ridiculous and launch control is just obscene! :D The gear paddles are good fun too - but more of a novelty - you end up not really using them tbh. The car is only on 49k too and has only had 2 previous owners - so I got a good deal. Been reading all the DSG horror stories though - but trying not to worry too much!
  9. Well I sold the old VR earlier this year to vr6paul and he sold it on to macscorcher, who's taking very good care of it. I moved on and initially got an S3 and have now moved on to a MK I Audi TT 3.2 V6 with DSG(ok so it's not a VR6 by name!):-
  10. Let me know how you get on. Be interested to see what it's like once the grime is gone. How's the interior? Has it gone mouldy after being locked up for so long?
  11. In the pic - it looks like it has a white go faster stripe near foglamp, front bumper.
  12. Ok car is now up for sale - looking for £2.5k for it:- http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... =p3907.m29
  13. might sell the VR - looking for £2.5k - anyone interested?
  14. Great pics! Fox and Rabbit Inn - quite apt hangout for a Golf!
  15. the S3 is incredible - but I'm not ready to get shot of the VR quite yet - but things may change financially and I'll have no alternative - I've got a wedding on the horizon now too!
  16. Took my mate's S3 out for a test drive today and have decided to buy it - so question is - what to do with the VR? Do I sell it just now whilst prices are awful or hold on to it? It's paid up insurance wise and MOT until May.
  17. lo mate, If you look on the inside of the drivers door theres a sticker telling you what they are. I think its 32 psi front 34 psi back cant honestly remember. I think it's 36 psi front and 32psi back - check the sticker though.
  18. This is a really fantastic Storm I'd be reluctant to change it that much - I'd definitely keep the 50mm spoiler - I had the 90mm one and thought it was awful - like a snowplough! But it's all personal taste.
  19. Get's me excited too! Love the motor!
  20. I'm sure I've seen that before - doubt it'll happen - really hope it won't!
