as long as the tow bar has been properly fitted... think they usually have a certificate?? all should be fine
-
Ah so you got liz's nugget then Welcome
-
Can be obtained from gsf/euro parts. Quality can be questionable
-
Possibly the valve from the carbon canister is causing it. Disconnect the tank return from the valve an it should relieve the pressure
-
Received today. Well packed Many thanks

128 psi (8.8 bar) is well within limits... as you stated this is the average as long as none of the cylinders are below 6 bar you will be fine. As for having 7hg at idle this would be about right as you are running with your charger removed at the moment. Rough/surging idle could be your idle stability valve needs cleaning (a few flushes with carb cleaner will do the job) As for the smoke... the only think i can think of is head gasket or maybe an exhaust valve is stuck open

Check your power steering pump. I got a loud thud on the underside of the car on the way home today. Steering was still fine but had a rubbing sound along with some belt slip. Turns out the 2 bolts that hold the pump to the mount had worked loose one completely missing. I've replaced the bolts and the clicking has gone. The m6 bolt to the right of the pump was the one missing. The other partly hidden by the pulley was the one that had worked loose.

I have had this error several times today. Usually when going backwards and forwards using the page numbers at the top/bottom of threads. Havent seen it until today... anyone else getting this?

The corrado being jealous cos the girlfriends going to be getting attention :D

You must have been really going for it... I have been doing a lot of late night/early morning motorway miles recently and have had a few top speed attempts:shocked!: there must have been something wrong with the panel/mechanism for it to pull off as 145mph doesnt seem to be an issue for mine
-
Mk3 golfs fit and I believe the seat cordoba does too. My roof came from a mk3 used the mechanism too and it was a straight swap. If you're ever in a scrap yard measure a few different VAG panels... You will be suprised how many are the same fitment, contrary to what a lot of people think

I'm going to go for £2235. Rear screen and driveshafts will probably be the best part of 1k
-
Wow I'm gonna go check mine now. Intrigued to know how that happened. They can withstand 150+ mph with no issues. Must have been some rot or loose bolts for it to come away at motorway speeds

I'm now thinking of making one from ABS plastic. Made in several pieces and plastic welded together. Using the original as a template. Should be a bit more rigid than the standard ones -
I would look at your ball joints and drop links first these will give the symptoms you describe

If I can get the part number I'll have a chat with my brother in law who works at VW and see what rate I can get it at. -
Dealers still have some of the deeper ones left £112 was what I got quoted

I should be doing my cv joint next week. Ordered the parts from AVS as they're now discontinued by VW. Will be doing ball joints at the same time as I have no history of them ever being done. All came in at just over £40 delivered with ccgb discount :) Will update if the cv solves the cracking

I wouldnt recommend the TA range. They are very crashy... mine didnt last very long
-
Not much done recently. I do have the upper strut brace fitted :) Also got new wipers fitted. Used mk4 ones. Had to switch them round due to the lengths, as they were 21 inch and 19 inch respectively. So 19 inch on driver side 21 on passenger. The passenger one just clears the windscreen trim. Cost me £20 for Bosch aero ones from gsf
-
Watching this closely as I have the exact same issue. I'm leaning towards cv joints
-
ill get some pics up make me an offer if theyre in good enough condition as theyre taking up space on my balcony.
