Howdy, having a serious wobbling engine problem in my Mk3 VR6! think all 3 of my mounts have gone... :shock: I paid a local garage £100 to do my front one at first which promptly went again due to the movement created by the back ones. He says that he will do all 3 for £250 (which includes the first one on warranty)... This equals a total £350quid for all 3... AM I BEING RIPPED OFF?! :roll: seems expensive to me cheers

i dont know but it is a 1995 mk 3 golf... ive got a sneaking suspicion it is something to do with the electrics as the same thing happened in my mk3 8v! getting worse but sometimes happens when wet, sometimes not... occasionally when hot and occasioally cold and its a nightmare. if im going along say on the motorway and take my foot off the gas it completely lurches rather than slowly slows if you get me might take it to dealer tonight for vag com...

my car has a big stutter and sometimes misses a beat- it feels like i am running a bit down on power! i can be cruising along in 5th in urban areas doing 30ish and it will jolt a lot... any ideas appreciated, gsf sending some new ht leads and oil/filter but if anyone can recommend anything else i would be interested.... cheers guys :?

think the setup would be pretty similar- cant think of any reason why it would be different. Any idea of the tension to get the bolts to? or is it just "tight as ..." cheers

help! i bottomed out on a bad bit of road yesterday and now the sump is leaking and the car is undriveable!!! how much will/should it cost to replace the sump and is it an easy job to diy it?!? been qouted £195 and the guy said the driveshaft needs removing to get at sump hence the high labour rates- is this true? anyone know where can i get a cheap sump and gasket from?! help needed and appreciated... SORRY CAR IS 1995 GOLF VR6 NOT CORRADO!

anyone know if they can- do you for speeding? report you to the feds? pull you and give you points or anything like that? or do they just assist accidents?! seem to whip past them @ 140 every morning and wonder if im living on borrowed time! cheers

can i just say my vr6 had been serviced by a main dealer before i bought it, and recently i thought it had blown up!! turns out that a vw mechanic had changed the plugs and instead of finding the thread and then tightening- he had just stuffed it in tightened it and completely threaded it!!! hence the plug blew out and a 450quid job to put a helicoil in the head and re-thread 2 cylinders!! f*cking cowboys if you ask me

only thing i would say is that with the filter housing get it tight as they all say "hand tight"- i did mine hand tight and oil pissed everywhere

Im looking to go and see a rado vr6 this weekend. The car sounds perfect apart from one thing- the water is needing to be topped up regularly! The sender says that it has been taken to a main dealer and diagnostics run and the reason is that the fan is not coming on so the water is bubbling away. Anybody have any views on this? cheers

my light has just come on in the vr6 saying my pads are worn so i have just bought some new ones: anyone know of a "how to" to fit them or is it best left to a garage...! cheers

Hey, Im thinking about going to look at a rado that ive seen for sale. It sounds mint but the guy says it is using a fair bit of water!! What is this likely to be- could it be expensive like a head gasket or is it more likely to be something simple like a hose? I understand that without seeing it it is impossible to say but an educated opinion and worst case scenario would be helpful Cheers again!!

i am with you 110%! exactly the same: 30=30, national speed limit= whatever is safe and- empty, clear motorway should be about 230mph... really pisses me off people who will have a word for booting it on the motorway and then will cruise past a school doing 45!!!! i wish the feds had the same attitude
