  2. kevhaywire, is that sunroof kit suitable for repairing mine? im not sure! the sunroof will only tilt down on one side and will not slide at all!!! it will tilt down again if you stick a screwdriver in it and slide it back manually but im not sure wether the kit is suitable. :?: any help appreciated, cheers

  5. whats the procedure and any pointers for changing the oil, i have looked throught the search to find any advice but cant find any practical tips (not looking hard enough  ) i want to change mine tmrw- whats a sump gasket- the dealers said all i needed was a filter and the oil! what the hell do you do with the old oil when your done?! any other pieces of advice for a nervous first time mechanic? help appreciated...
  6. mmm, not sure. Think i topped it up with some oil that is too thin (5w30?) so am going to do a change this weekend! have asked about a wheel bearing but hear it makes more of a screeching noise(?!) so i dunno. Just going to leave it for a bit and see what happens, got to be careful though as dont want to lose a wheel at 145mph..... hahaha  cheers
  7. howdy, i have owned my corrado for about three weeks and there are a few things that i have noticed with it :!: 1-with the engine idling and i blip the throttle, when the revs come back down to idle there seems to be a very faint popping noise coming out of the exhaust-any ideas please? 2- also, when the car is moving there is a very faint knocking noise from the front drivers side whel area- man from veedub said it could be an abs washer but didnt really have a clue.... :?: the car apart from those things is a mint runner and is aVR6 with 63000, FSH and any help would be legendary thanks
  8. howdy, this may be a laughable question, but i am planning on doing my first oil change on my new rado vr and dont know how to tell if the oil is synthetic or not!!!!! im only a newcomer and also wonder if the coolant needs topping up do i go and buy some from the stealers? cheers :D :D

    corrado care!

To sda2489, i forgot to say before- I paid 5 and a half grand for it. what do you reckon- good price? The only problem is with the sunroof  , but I thought that is a small price to pay when the engine appears as sweet as it does :D what is the view of the experts- does it sound like a good price for a genuine car?

    corrado care!

i am just about to be the proud owner of my first rado after months of looking! it is a mint vr, 63000 with full vwsh! the only thing is, without sounding like a cowboy, i like to rag it!!! :D my last mk2 golf gti took a bit of a beating  and i want to look after my rado and not trash it whilst still using the  performance! any ideas for keepin my new beauty in good shape would be greatly appreciated....
  13. maybe you should give the year when an early corrado becomes a later model? Obvious to those in the know but to an amateur like me its not!
  14. cheers! dont fancy getting done for something scary so will stick to a detector!
  15. Thank you!! will bear that all in mind and try to ask the appropriate questions when i eventually come round to buying the beast! cheers..............
  16. what do people reckon about getting a radar/laser jammer fitted? do they work? are they worth it? (should always stick within the speed limit anyway ) what will the fuzz do if they catch you with one? cheers
  17. howdy, i have posted a reply about buying a corrado  , but i have NO CLUE about the servicing and maintanance! have tried to look through the servicing section but it all sems a little too deep for someone who is not that clued up. Im looking to buy a corrado with 80k ish, what (if anything) needs doing around this time? what is the general service interval, and what needs doing then/cost? when are the big services? if i were to run a car with this mileage what would i need to know has been done/do? dont mean to sound like a rookie :? , but i am! i am looking to get involved with a corrado asap but dont really have a clue what i would do to keep the car tiptop..... any help much appreciated cheers :D
  18. cheers! going to go and look at a few soon-yippee
  19. cheers thats helpful! one more thing, whats the score with a mileage of around 80000? am i liable to have a head gasket failure because i had one on my golf and it cost me megabucks!
  20. I am looking at buying a corrado for the first time having previously owned a mk2 8v golf for a couple of years. have had a few problems and had to spend quite a bit of cash on the golf and I am looking for some advice on buying a corrado vr6 at about £6k. I have looked at a few examples with fVWsh and 70-80000 miles and would like to know if there is potential for any big bills! any advice would be greatly appreciated... cheers
