Has anyone used the beru leads and plugs? want to check they are ok before i go spending any cash, had cheap leads before :cry:

Well it is possible that at one time the leads did have the ears but both myself and vw have checked the leads quantum currently do and they definately dont have the ears for the removal tool, no sign of a leak and water doesnt appear to be going down, will look into a replacement pump then

the electric pump, sure quantum would be fine but they dont have the ears for the removal tool making removal slightly awkward without damaging the leads

Hi guys, looking for recomendations on plugs and leads for a vr6, genuine leads are pricey and tbh arent worth the extra imo, quantum leads arent badly prices but they do not have the slots apparently for the removal tool, considering beru leads and plugs, thoughts on these and if someone could confirm that they have the slots for the removal tool, also how noisey should the water pump be? it can clearly be heard from outside the car and sounds a bit like the heater fan running, thanks

Have been using justoffbase for years and dont have a bad word to say about them :) like anything usualy pays to compare prices, machine mart are cheap yes but most of there stuff is clarke

the stratos 700 looks good, have emailed for a price, need to do a bit of digging on them now, one problem i have is whatever roof i go for needs to obviously be bigger than the existing

Ok so its not a corrado but im hoping for some suggestions anyway, we have a 1981 mk1 scirocco gti thats fitted with a crappy glass sunroof which leaks, originaly we planned to change the roof skin and loose it altogether however having a sunroof in the summer months would be nice so recomendations on a company that can supply and fit a decent sunroof? now i know this isnt going to be cheap but then we are putting a fair bit of cash into this car what with the 20v and all :wink:

afaik the filler neck is available but only from vw at about £190!

Im thinking long term ownership, in an ideal world i would have an extra car just for towing but i cant afford to be running 3 cars and i realy dont have the space

What is the towing limit for a vr6? combined trailer and car (on trailer) would be 1050 kg

Dont flame me for this but i figure that with the power of the vr6 it should tow realy well so anyone here got a towbar on theirs? would it be up to trailering cars arround shortish distances?

I think im right in saying that there are two different types, sods law says it probably is the wrong one for your car but you can always stick it back on ebay -

Are there any "specialist" tools required to do the job or is this something i can do myself? also is the chain and tentioner that expensive? £1000 seems a lot of cash to be spending on repairs in one go :crazyeyes:
