Apparently the G60 ones are the strongest ones vw made! But you cant beat piece of mind
-
Alright steve, you have most of the bits i need, so when are you going to have some prices for me???? But seriously what ort of money are you talking?
-
Ok, i have asked before and was told that the g60 roads are the strongest vw ones. I am afraid that i might bend one when playing with setups on the engine (lots of boost  ) has anyone gotten steel rods or titanium ones? It may sound like overkill, but as someone once said to me, you can just leave it alone and not worry about it! ANyone any ideas? Thanks Richard
-
219 is not a bad figure at all! have you got a custom ic or is it the mk4 gti one?
-
what did you get on the rollers? Cool Photos!!
-
thanks guys, and Darren i must give you a call next week!!
-
I am trying to work out what injectors to use in my "project" Does anybody know the resistance in the standard G60 injectors?
-
yeah i meant as dazzyvr6 said, but cheers lads!
-
i am getting new handles anyway, but i want the locks to be all on the same key. I know gsf do locks for the golf/jetta, but the barrels wont fit the c How do you change the door and boot locks? is it a lock specialist job?
-
where would i get a full set of locks? any ideas, i havent tried anywhere yet, but someone must have done it before thanks Richard
-
I was thinking that!!!
-
Has anyone painted this panel? Just curious what it looks like? Oh yea, and my one is a bit knackered too!
-
get it back, you never know, if you have had it form new its gotta be kept, nearly any car can be fixed. do you have any pics of the damage?
-
Welcome aboard! Do you have any pics of the system?
-
yea, i had the bridgestones on my golf vr6 for the last year, but excessive wheelspin killed them!!!!! now got crap tyres on it, suppose to be wet tyres, but are not worth a crap!!! my mk1 has goodyear eagle f1's on it, great tyres too, quite soft and wear quicker than the bridgestones imho
-
I see what you mean. hmm maybe. I was looking in an old copy of pvw and i saw you car Jason, nice! i might have a few q's on the way you have things positioned
-
ah, it all makes sense now!!!!
-
I was thinking of going 9:1 for basicly the same reason that bevis was saying. the charger is a weak point if its over revved, and all 16v g60's that i have seen on the rollers are still making power at the rev limiter, i wouldnt consider that too safe for the long life of the charger or engine! Bevis are your pistons available yet? I spoke to steve a few weeks back and he was to mail me info, but he must have forgotten. Can you pm me the rough price of your pistons anyway. thanks Richard
-
i was also thinking of the 02j 6 speed box, but they seem a bit too pricey at the moment, I know what your saying about the g60 box and that was what i feared, you are changing the charicteristics of the engine, so the box wont suit. I know someone running a gemini 6 speed conversion, but i dont have that sort of money at the moment! any ideas on the suitability of the 02j on a forced induction 16v anyone?
-
i didnt realise that, never even driven a mk3 8v(not a real gti) I think i am looking at eithert mk3 16v or a corrado 1.8 16v box. I want to keep a 16v g60 on song as much as poss, and i think the g60 box has gears that are too long for quick accel. any opinions, kev did you run a standard 16v box in your old one?
-
What did you hit? Shame because it was a very nice looking setup!
-
thanks kev, the golf boxes were rod change, but are those the cable change or rod change boxes? I know the post 92 were cavle in the golf thanks Richard
-
Jason, what sort of comp ratio are you running? I am thinking of a short block with 83mm forged pistons, so only 1.9!
-
Thanks Jason, its based on the 2L long block is it?
