46k on my 96 n reg vr6, anyone got any ideas what the lowest mileage vr6 is on here? did i read once theres a storm with around 20k on the clock?
-
Your right storm77 it is lowered so poss something else that might need changing as does the exhaust.think thats all apart from the sterio and the wheels its fairly standard allready, other wise i wouldnt have bought it.
-
thanks for all the comments, ill get some pics as soon as poss of the pair of them. my first one is slightly modified ie miltek exhaust,17" alloys, ram air filter just a few little mods.that one is now on 110k 1 previous owner and full history and after 4 years its basically how i want it. the way im thinking at the min is to put my new one with 46k back to origional spec.handy thing is i still have my origional speedline alloys, cant see the point in having them both slightly modded and feel the low mileage example should be origional.what do you lot think ? cheers Dale

Ive owned a 95 nreg vr6 for jsut over 4 years, yesturday i bought another 96 n reg vr6.had to buy the second one as it come up locally with only 46k miles.not the sort of mileage you see every day for sale
-
yeah cheers Gixxeruk, the mileage was a big factor in why i bought the car,i dont do many miles in my car so should stay nice and low.
-
I like the bogof idea , not new to corrado ownership tho as i bought my other one in 2001, might be selling the 16" bbs rc wheels that it came with as i have a set of origional speedlines which im prob going to fit.

HI, just wanted to be polite and let you all know it was me that bought the vr6 from my local nissan dealer today with regards to the interior i would say its deff all factory fitted. the door pods are actually a dark grey not black and all seems very genuine. as is the history. just leves me to explain to my girfriend why i now have two n reg moonlight blue vr6s in the garage!!

thanks for that info, pretty much what i was thinking. has anyone had or using these size wheels? cheers
-
seen some s/hand wheels i like for my vr6. they are 5 stud with pcd 100/et 35 8jx17. tyre wise 2 wheels have 205/40/17 and the other two have 215/40/17. i would change all the tyres to the same size but its handy them coming with different size tyres as i could see what fits best. any way my worry is the wheels are 8" which is too wide and will rub on my rear arches. cars been lowered 30mm. any advice much appreciated. cheers

elephant quoted about £500 for me,Infact thats pretty much the amount everyone is quoting apart from this master quote place at£352 which does seem pretty chaep to me or maybe im just getting old now!
-
has anyone got insurance with,or heard anything about master quoate? im 26 with9 years no claims and on my standard vr6 fully comp with protected no claims they have quoted £352. privelage who im with allready want £523 and thats with a £650 excess. Think i might be swapping.

ive got the same problem, changed the sump gasket but it still leaks. mine drips from the bootom of the gearbox near the engine. any ideas? my mate thinks it could be the crank seal.
-
nice one mate, ill give them a shout tommorrow.

Really want a set of these wheels.was wondering if they will fit my vr6 without using spacers? Any ideas on where to price a set up.Only tried Demon Tweeks so far they said 1030.00 without tyres or 1330.00 with toyo tyres,215/40/17. any pics or advice welcome, cheers

thats coinsidence ive just stopped mine from knocking on thursday. the silly thing is all i had to do was replace the middle section rubber mounts with some shorter stronger ones and its fine. took me about 1 min to fit them Bobbywhacker i know what you mean because i thought thats where mine was knocking at one point so i modified it to give it more clearance but it wasnt that anyway. like you say though its so nice driving it now used to really annoy me.
-
ah cheers mate, bobbins ? never heard of them to be honest. where would i go to buy them? Its amazing how something so stupid can annoy you when your driving. is this a common problem then? really want to sort it out now so cheers for any advice chaps.
-
Need to sort out my exhaust as well, Fitted a miltex last year and it seems to be knocking where it passes over the axle. Has anyone else had this problem and got any idea how to stop it? its really annoying. It seems to do it more when the cars hot. does that meen the rubber hangers are streching maybe?

HI Just wondering what tyre pressures people are running on a vr6 with standard wheels. Its just Ive never been to sure and have read different things. What do you lot recomend? Cheers Dale.
-
hi there mate and welcome, ive run both the origional 15s and 17s on my vr6 and to be honest it does seem to handle better on 15s and give a smother ride.Having said that i think 17s do look better as they fill the arches.Ive also tried 18s but they were just too big.Ive lowered mine approx 30mm and 17s fit straight on with no probs. Some people say 16s are the best for both looks and handling but ive not had any 16s.Ive currently got the origional !5s on at the min and the car looks nice and low.You do notice the car sitts higher when on 17s. Tell us about your motor mate, Is it a storm? cheers Dale :)
-
I know that car,its about time you posted something on here kev. Should of known you would be bragging about your mileage, bigger is better ah!! You can borrow my camera if you want mate to take some pics. by the way moving in in 3 weeks time. that will mean the 2 cs in Liskeard living about 5 houses away from each other.cool ah

Just wanted to say cheers to Gavin (H100VW) for the Headlight loom. Came next day, well worth the money as it really does make a difference. Gavins a top bloke ,really helpful ,highly recomend him and his looms.

Kev, Its not a photochop, I did fit them and drive it they just rubbed in alot of places. what i said was a bit misleading about them not fitting.they didnt fit very well which is not surprising really. Interesting that you said they looked like 20s. Ive decided Today not to keep them and im going to sell them and buy a new set of 17s.I fancy Momo GT2s again, i had those on my Mk2 golf and think there quality. Those 28s must be huge.Bet ATS dont keep tyres for them in stock!!
-
Well this is what R32 alloys look like on my VR6. The problem is that they don't fit. They rub on the arches, and also on the struts. Seems like rolling the arches, and coil-overs are the way to go. I'm after some idea of price for these mods please? What coil-overs are reccomended, and does anyone have any experience of having there arches done? I would appreciate any help as i'm trying to decide if i'm going to go ahead with the change over from my 17"s. Cheers, Dale.

looks like they will go on then.May need coilovers and a bit of arch work it seems. Ill post some pics when they are fitted.Any opinions on them suiting the c i think they will look ok hopefully!! cheers Dalevr6.
