update fitted the new sunroof from a mk3 golf 20 pound well spent took a while to space it so it sits right its sticks up a bit in the middle but hardly noticeable and it all works and doesnt leak only thing is the spoiler doesnt come up you can put it up by hand but its a small problem considering it only cost 20 quid ow and know most people will hate this but i did it anyway nice cheap fix and works well

i have a seal in good condition brought it of a guy on here a few weeks ago then my sunroof broke the day after so ive replaced it with a mk3 golf unit 15 pound posted if you want it

hi guys my ignition switch died so putting a starter button in for the moment due to funds and had one lying around the start button has two terminals one for a switched ignition live and one for the starter it seems logical to connect one side to the yellow and black wire and one side to the starter wire but the starter wire is bigger and im worried its going to fry the yellow and black wire will it be ok or should it be wired differently ive seen a few guides etc but no definitive answer some people seem to have done the above or added a relay just want to check really thanks ross

not even interested in packaging and ill arange collection dont mind paying a packing fee

update painted the shut and sanded it back down ready for top coat also painted the engine bay so heres some pictures of before and after was only painted with a brush i know not ideal but just want it one colour and gonna flat it hard and polish here some pics quite pleased with how they came out engine bay before and now and door shuts didnt take a before picture but was also that horrible purple and only done one so will show pics of the other ones let me know what you think

update guys managed to vax the back seats yesterday the bottom part was disgusting but it came up so well really happy no stains so here are some before and after pics and heres some pics of my other car a 998 mini which i spent two years restoring had whole new front end floor welded new a panels rear valence etc end full respray in ford imperial blue engine out wide wheels full steel flip front redone the whole interior in black and white vinyl made an oak dash and currently rebuilding the engine with a 1275 head and planning on running it on bike carbs

ok will have a look tommorow thanks mate ---------- Post added at 11:23 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:53 PM ---------- right after some advice guys im a bit confused i have my sunroof wiring all intact now ive brought a mk1 light and sunroof switch and it doesnt seem to plug in now i am led to believe the late corrados have six wires coming from the motor but mine has three does this suggest i have a late car with early motor so what should i do change the motor or change the wiring thanks ross

thats ok yeh i know their different now ive brought them lol and i did the same scratched the roof think im gonna change the whole lot for a glass one from a skoda gonna make a trip to the scrappys soon anyone got any ideas what the wheels are their 15 inch so not of an anniversary golf thinking about selling them but have no clue what they are thanks ross

well two steps forward one step back bit of a negative day started of by taking the sunroof mech out worked out what was wrong and shortly after it broke it still tilts but doesnt slide then went to put the interor light in to find the wiring was wrong are mk1 and mk2 corrado lights different agter that gave up and went home

hi guys i need the inner sunroof lining the piece which has the drain panel for the rear of the sunroof because its missing on mine so my sunroof is leaking thanks ross

more progress started the day by vaxing the carpet and passenger seat and i couldnt be happier the seat looks like new as do the carpets once they were done went over for some more wet sanding got the bonnet and boot done it went pretty well bonnets still a bit pitted but looks alot better than it did before also the paint at the top of the bonnet was very thin so you can see the primer a bit but not to bad but hoping to get the bonnet resprayed at some point anyway let me know what you think

no i think it was sprayed inside but its not the best paint job think its got orange peal because it wasnt baked on thanks for the comment

right been working on the car all day and knackered having sorted the electrics i set about the bodywork i couldn't deal with the orange peal paintwork anymore every time you run your hand over it it would get all the dirt stuck in it i decided to wet sand it after all cant look much worse and im very chuffed done one side and its turned out great really need to invest in a polisher no where near show finish but decent enough anyway heres some pics what you think.not bad i think for my first ever wet sanding session see the difference didn't get round to the bonnet

thanks yeh hes done a nice job pretty nippy to its the 1.4 sport i cant decide wether to keep the wheels black or respray them gunmetal grey sorted the deal for the headlining and interior trim i needed so its coming together nicely not sure if its a problem but when its cold it hunts when it idles and doesnt idle smooth its spot on once warm anyone got any suggestions

right another update reasembled the dash and it no longer rattles everywhere put the door cards on properlly and found out its not an immbobiliser but a dodgy ignition switch starting to realise how bad the paintwork is wondering what to do with it really but on the plus side all the electrics work now will get some pictures of it with my friends lupo soon ---------- Post added at 6:45 PM ---------- Previous post was at 5:52 PM ---------- some much needed pictures the engine bay you see what i mean about the blue inside some of the car and some of it with my friends lupo where its kept let me know what you think

another update wired in the sunroof and got the heater working on all 4 settings turns out the previous owner had assembled the switch on top result nice cheap fix

i removed just the sunroof not the mechanism four torx screws not to hard worst bit was pushing it on pretty tight but i dont have a headlining or anything in so didnt have to take that down first

bit of an update managed to find the sunroof wiring fit a new seal and test the motor turns out it wasnt wired in because it has a different motor fitted so the looms need splicing together and investigated the heater issue but the car has an immobiliser problem and only lets me turn it over when it wants its really annoying when it does run its fine though checked the fan and that works overall productive day

been working on the car today the spoiler works but seems really slow are they normally quite slow got my sunroof seal so gonna fit that tommorow i was trying to find the sunroof wiring i found the switch in the boot but the guy i brought it of said the wiring is tucked behind the dash where does the wire for the sunroof start from thanks ross also the heater is completley dead any idea any help would be great guys as rather new to corrados ive got a manual but it doesnt cover everything
