hi guys soar the recent post about a trip to sky and the positive comments so i thought you might like to see my pics from a recent road trip. I went to scotland for a week with friends the trip started from kent stopped when i broke down at dartford but left it a while and was fine after that (dodgy fuel pump)anyone got to the house in Arrochar and did various trips about two trips up to Glencoe and one up through Glen Nevis. I had a great time and the corrado was so much fun on the roads up their and cruised back on the motorway doing 42mpg so was really chuffed with it as ive only had it a few months also got loads of attention lots of compliments but the best part was having a play with a brand new lamborghini aventador on the motorway on the way back what an awesome car covered 1500 miles with no serious trouble hope you like :) and on of my friends lupo me and the beast

i think you should be all legal if the their is no tread visible from above the arch and the rims doesn't protrude more than 20mm from the edge of the arch i think that's right but im not 100 percent but i think a lot depends on the copper on the day but ive seen far far worse on a lighter note that car would look sweet if you lowered it hope that helps thanks ross

right long overdue update went to scotland with the car a couple of weeks ago drove 1500 miles car was brilliant it made so much sense on all the Scottish roads brilliant fun and i got 42mpg on the motorway. No major problems other than it died in traffic before the dartford bridge turned out to be a dodgy fuel pump but it lasted the holiday. Also fitted a new master cylinder and replaced both fuel pumps and ive been looking into a 1.8t conversion im fairly certain on this when insurance will allow. and the bit that matters heres the pictures excuse my friends lupo who travelled with us on the way and a nice one of the lupo and finally one of my car at prept last month it was brilliant traveling together we got lots of attention from the cars a variety of thumbs up i even got a lad in a lowered 306 hanging out the window taking a picture, two guys in petrol stations complimenting me on it and a guy asking about it who said he had a g60 from brand new and 20 years later never found anything that matched up to it hope you like the pics thanks Ross

pretty sure the law is its illegal if the tread of the tyre is showing outside the wheel arch or if the rim protrudes more than 20mm from the edge of the arch so i would say its pretty risky and would be down to how the police are feeling thanks ross

It seems to use a whole load of petrol everyone. I'm back on the motorway and traffic is fine, we'll see if it happens again.

you could always strip the bolsters out of the passenger seat and sell them as people always need them to replace the drivers bolster which is always worn?

well been cracking on with the wheels and set about refurbishing the centres today as they were all laquar peely and beaten up.I filed the marks out and repolished them also got some vw centres but not sure if i like them but at 2.50 they didnt break the bank. completley done two and the thirds nearly done also the fourths being repaired so the wheels should be on late next week with some 195 45 16 hankooks so will have a bit of stretch. On another note car failed its mot on emmision but that was it and it only just failed so gonna put a new cat on. before and after

right guys as some of you may know i have a 2.0 16v corrado when i got it it didnt run well at all after much investigation found out this was due to a lambda sensor being disconnected. Anyway the car will only run properly at 20 degrees of advance anything else it runs really lumpy hunts on idle etc but at 20 degrees it runs great pulls well and is giving good economy. Anyway it went for an mot and failed for emissions what should i be looking at and could the two issues be linked also it know runs very lumpy and hunts when cold but its fine once warm could it simply be the garage didnt let the car warm up or has a sensor gone a miss any advice apreciated thanks ross
-
well update i got back of holiday yesterday 850 miles all in round cornwall. The car didn't miss a beat managed an average of 36mpg and got a staggering 42mpg on the motorway.Really happy before i left i won a set of 16 inch bsx lenso for 133 pound which i'm happy w. They arrived with bad lacquer peel so i started refurbishing them today heres the pictures before after so the question is do i keep the white or repaint them im undecided as the white paint is very good thanks ross

garage put extended wheel nuts through my wheel bearing ?
ross k replied to ross k's topic in Drivetrain
yeah i am thinking of replacing the whole hub carrier after being offered one for a reasonable 10 pound. But i am going to wait to see what the garage have to say for themselves tomorrow i don't want to name and shame until i give them the chance to sort it tomorrow because now i have it apart i fail to see how they can deny their mistake thanks Ross -
garage put extended wheel nuts through my wheel bearing ?
ross k replied to ross k's topic in Drivetrain
hi guys update i took the disk and caliper of and found the problem as the pictures show. They have screwed the wheel bolts right into the inner hub and because they have forced the bolts in it has badly bent the guard meaning its rubbing badly on the bottom of the hub and the abs sensor making the horrible noise. Also the wheel bolts pushing it away has ruined the threads on the screws that hold the guard on what is this piece for i couldn't go any further without a hub puller on the plus side fitted a slave cylinder just need to bleed the clutch thanks ross -
Hi Guys Had a nightmare day, basically I took my car to a local garage to balance the front wheels and look at the clutch; as the pedal sticks occasionally. I would usually do this myself but I don't have time and I am driving it 300 miles Tuesday. Anyway, I picked the car up and they tell me its completely broken down and the clutch is seized. Not happy I took the car to look at it this weekend. I drove the car and its making an awful grinding noise; on further inspection it seems when you turn the driver side wheel it graunches and the passenger runs free. This immediately shouted wheel bearing, on further inspection it appears the garage have obviously put my front wheel back on without the spacer and rammed the 20mm extended wheel bolts into the wheel bearing and they said they can't look at it till Wednesday next week, annoying since I specifically told the garage about the spacers. I'm not here to slate the garage and wont name it. I just need to know what parts I will need to repair it, as I don't want it to ruin my holiday as its my only car.
