Great pictures buddy, will keep an eye on this :)

It is a fantastic event, I'd love to be a spectator but its a hard working weekend, we worked 31 hours on the trot once the race started. It's only about 6 hours from Calais, I'd be interested in a Corrado road trip.
-
I thought some of you might be interested in the few pictures I took whilst working at Lemans classic this year. To anyone that gets to do it, do it once but never again! Hardest weekend of my life by far haha. This is the first of the Porsche 356's I supported, quite a famous car within early porsche circles. And another one I was looking after, a very quick pre-a by any standards The companies 1964 901 fault free weekend for this car GT40 #1080, unfortunately this car did not finish after suffering engine failure 3.0L 911 RSR, this did us proud, finishing well despite a few minor problems. A few pics I snapped around the paddocks Cheers. Bryn.

How old are you, and how long have you had your Corrado/Corrado's?

Hear hear! -
I have been wondering what the average age of the corrado owner is and how long people generally keep their cars for. I couldn't imagine selling mine, especially as its got my mark on it now. My last Corrado I had for around 6 months but I was only 18 and I felt I didn't have the finances available to keep it in tip top condition. Now I'm 22 and working full time I decided it was time to get another so I bought my VR6 and never looked back :)

Looks like a great example :)

Unlucky dude, looks like a good job otherwise. 2e's might not be interference as standard but the extra lift on that camshaft could cause a bit of contact.
-
Good job mate, it's always gratifying to know you've saved one :)
-
Yep, mines the same. I bought an early vr6 once that had gone there early in its life and spread round most of the rear arch!
-
Cheers bud. Lemans was mad. I worked 31 hours straight between Saturday morning and Sunday evening alone, and it would have been more if our GT40 hadn't have blown up lol.
-
Thanks guys. The black sunroof switch came with the car when I bought it bud. Cheers Jay, the sound deadening is simply 8mm carpet underlay. It makes the carpets feel nice and soft and 'spongey' as well :)
-
A 35amp female spade connector with a plastic or rubber insulator and an inline fuse connector is what you need bud.
-
Quick interior update. Wiring finished and new sound deadening in. Carpets back in All finished. The recaro's work a treat now I'm really happy with them. The wiring loom looks all original as well :)
-
It was painted before I bought it mate, I think by the owner before me.

She looks fantastic as always bud. The day I bought her. Shortly after on schmidts Then D90's Then borbets and deep eyebrow grille thingy

Thanks buddy. I've had a really good day today cracking on with the Corrado. Firstly I fitted the new discs and bearings with new genuine pickup rings plated silver. No pads in yet, because I'm not sure what I'm going to go for and it's going to be a while before the car is on the road again so they would only be sitting around. Hand brake cables all clipped in and Brake carriers and dampers bolted up and tight. Brake pipes finished Quick shots of the underside before I put the car back on its wheels It's back on the ground! It's only taken 4 months :-s Then this happened.. I have still got a couple of last jobs to do underneath but I was too excited at the prospect of getting it rolling again I couldn't wait another minute haha. I'm sitting here now trying to suss out recaro seat wiring. Cheers guys. Bryn.

Hi mate! How is the old girl doing? I'm near Colchester buddy. Where abouts are you?
-
Looking good mate, I'll be keeping an eye on this one :) Out of interest, how did you mark the location of the beam brackets to ensure they go back correctly? I had the same trouble with my bias valve. I ended up just cutting it off and opting for a manually adjustable one in the end.

This picture was taken at edition38. I owned this Corrado about 3 years ago, I swapped it to a lad from Sudbury, I saw it about 18 months later with a new owner and I don't know where it is now. I would like to find the new owner as I have found some original documentation for the car including the original manual etc, and I would like to pass it on. So if anyone knows, or the owner is on here if they could pm me I'd be happy to post out the bits I've got and it would be nice to see the old girl again at a show and meet the new owner. Cheers. Bryn.

Thanks guys :) That is an Eibach strut brace mate, I don't know the part number, where would I find it? Thanks buddy, I am very happy with the gold plating and it's very reasonably priced as I sand blast and polish all the bits myself first. I did sandblast the plastic fuel filter cover and then gave it a coat of satin black to restore the original finish. The blue pipe is the fuel return pipe from the engine to the fuel tank. I have done way with both the plastic fuel lines and replaced them with kunifer. The white/clear pipe is for fuel vapour to the carbon canister, but as my carbon canister has been removed to fit the carbonio induction kit I have just removed this all together and vented the vapour to atmosphere underneath the fuel tank.
-
Thanks mate :) Most of the parts have been cleaned up, the brake pipe clips have just been sand blasted to remove the yellow staining and grime, they were perfectly reusable so I didn't see the point in buying new ones, same with the fuel filter housing.
-
Just noticed a shot in the old pictures I can compare before and after :-) Before After Makes it all worth while seeing that haha. Thanks. Bryn.

Won't be long mark, I will finish prepping your rear beam next week. Give me a shout when you are ready to do the other bits. Update time. New fuel lines made up and fitted, there's a few small bends in the pic which I have now straightened out. Fuel tank back in, just waiting on the proper bolts to come back from the platers And the beam is finally back in! I fitted new genuine rubber bushes which turned out to be a bit of a headache, but it's all worth it to see it back in now :) Also bolted on the rear spindles, I've just got to modify the new spacer ring that sits behind the disc and fit the bearings and the car could go back on its wheels! Next jobs: Modify the rear disc spacer rings Make the solid brake pipes for the rear callipers and mount them with the abs wiring on the rear beam. Fit the heat shields for good once the new clips come back from plating Fit the rear bearings to the new discs and fit to the car Fit the rear callipers and adjust the handbrake.

Nice job buddy, this thread is a real good read. Some really good ideas :)

This is true bud. But a lot of people (especially in the vw scene) just want to get low, much lower than fixed spring and shock packages can allow. So geometry and handling is always going to come second best. The vast majority of lowered cars are lowered beyond the ideal ride height, so the suspension is working out of the range of which it was designed for anyway. But that is not a worry to the majority of coil over owners that just want to get low for looks.
