1. That's the ISV on the ABF, if you take off that cover that's got the HT leads pushed into it, you can see it in all it's glory. Think the pipe you're missing goes to the engine breather, iirc.
2. Price dependent, I'm interested in late front wings, doors and early bonnet. I take it the wings can be made with a "rolled" design in that they don't have a big lip to chew away tyres?
3. This. All fine for me on my mk2 golf when I had them, orange LED's and I passed MOT easy. :)
4. I might be interested, provided they don't fade back to orange. I'm not far from gloucester either so could swap easily it goes through.
5. Well, I don't actually have one, but it would be a 16v because it meets my requirements for what I want to do to it. The donor car is a mk3 golf gti 16v ABF. Typically I've just found the thread for the conversion that was carried out from a mk4 system. Though, I've got a few things going on ATM and can't concentrate fully on it. The mk4 box etc all fits but you need different heater channels?? The mk4 cc control panel does look good in the rado dashboard.
6. It seems that the passat climatronic is the easiest/best to fit. Though, I am lost looking for the info, I can't figure out which system people are talking about  Is it this? because if so, surely I will have to replace the heater box, all the motors etc. and that's not the system that's on the mk3. Unless... These are the type that will work? I'm lost even more now! Have you got a build thread I can have a ganders at?
7. Cheers guys :thumbleft: I don't suppose there's a walkthrough on the climatronic is there?
8. I've done a search and can't find anything? Just wondering as the donor car I'm buying has it fitted, would be nice to know if I should keep it! I'm sure the C aircon switches etc will be expensive, but it would be nice to have.
9. I love your work :camp: I can't afford all the stuff right now, and I don't even have a corrado yet, but am I right to assume that you'll still make the UK/RHD specific stuff once the group buys are finished? Again, looks awesome :thumbleft:
10. I went to view that car a few weeks ago! Good luck turning it around, I decided against it because the drivers door didn't line up and had already been repaired once  I also noticed that on one side the rear wheel only had enough room for my finger tips and the other side I could fit my hand in! Not trying to bring you down or anything, have fun with it! :thumbleft: Engine sounded sweet enough when I had a look, what does it drive like? Have fun :thumbleft:
11. Cheers for they essay :) Yeah, it is going to be on a corrado, about 15mins after saying about converting to cables, I realised that all corrados have cable change :smug: I am going to go through the MS route, I've posted a couple threads on CGTI too, and done a bit more searching. I've exchanged PM's with the username "Toyotec" and I think I'm going to pay him to build be the ECU as I want it to be reliable, and that will depend on build quality, as I've never done it I don't feel confident in myself. However I will be building the loom with new plugs etc as I want to route it differently to standard and I want to tidy the bay. The charger I will be using will be an Eaton m62 or m90, depending what becomes available to me at the right price, although I think the m90 is a tad too large. The brackets will all be made by an engineer friend I hope, can all be billet then, would lower my costs too. :) My plan so far is to buy the engine and the charger and figure all the routing, the engine will be rebuilt, and have the crank and flywheel lightened, reusing the conrods, pistons and valves if they are good. While I'm building the engine, I hope to source a car to put it into, take the engine out and relocate the battery to the boot and will use a bag inside the wing for a washer bottle. The bay wont be "smoothed" but it will be tidied and unnecessary bits deleted. I will be making my own fuel rail and obviously bigger injectors with hopefully 4bar fuel pressure. I will also be stacking head gaskets as like you say, it saves a grand on the cost. Also, it was fine for manufacturers back in early turbo days :) ---------- Post added at 01:40 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:20 PM ---------- I will also be using wasted spark hopefully.
12. What OSV said! better ground clearance then :) Plus 16>15
13. They are B3 passat winter wheels, commonly mistaken for G60 steels. But those ones are banded to what looks like maybe 8j? :)

Joey Modding

For the people wondering why it's called joey modding, I've heard it's because baby kangaroo's -Joeys have really black beady eyes when they're first born
15. I'm also currently looking at rado's. I've been looking for a buyers guide for problem areas, but not been able to find one, could you link me to one Captainredeye? I find it's handy having an aluminium jack that you can throw in the car before you go, nice and light light, and it means you can give the car the third degree :rambo:
16. I'll probably sound like a time waster here, but, ah well. I don't yet have a corrado, but I hope to getting one soon. It's a 16v, not sure if it's late or early, I expect early? How long will these be available, I would be interested in white back lit with illuminated needles. I can confirm early or late when I get it. The amount of group buys like these I've missed out on... Usually see them, get excited, then realise it was all over and done with 2 years before I even had the car :(
17. Cheers bud, I'm having some trouble finding any info too! Did you find it best to copy the mk2 ABF conversion guides?

Hey guys

It would be lovely, but I dont think I'd get insured on it unfortunately, maybe it'd be a thing for the future for me, but not now, sorry lol

Hey guys

If you up into the centre of town, it's opposite the tesco express, the turning before the bus station. My sister worked QS for a while, it's good, means I get to go there for sand blasting stuff at discount Is there a general FAQ anywhere for all the corrado newbies? reading things about early and late etc, just want to figure out how much work an abf conversion is going to be

Hey guys

Yeah I'll defo get to some meets. I work in... wait for it... "The Garage Nailsworth ltd" It's easy to remember, no? It's a garage, in Nailsworth lol Nah, haven't seen that mk2 there for a while, think it was an oak green 3dr. I live like, right next to the brewery in uley - shame I don't drink :camp: I laugh everytime I see Cockadilly too
21. Drewie

Hey guys

Cheers, you're not far from me, I'm in Uley, it's a village near dursley but I work in a garage in Nailsworth.

Hey guys

Hey, new to the forum, I'm also on edition and club gti. At the moment I own a mk2 8v gti but I'm hoping to be buying a KR corrado soon :thumbleft: My plan is to drive it around while I build up an ABF with a supercharger on it  I'm dead excited about it! Then I'll go back to driving the mk2 while I fit the ABF into a tidied bay hopefully. So, there's my plans, look forward to surfing the forum. :thumbleft:
23. So to install an abf into a corrado kr, it's; loom, ecu, any engine mounts needed, any exhaust stuff etc? I think I'll use the old g'box that's on it, it'll save me changing to cables. Seems an easy install, building it will be the hard/costly part! :camp: ---------- Post added at 07:40 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:38 PM ---------- Oh, and to answer the turbo bit, I just prefer superchargers, for some reason just not keen on turbos. Plus all the exhaust work etc. I have a yurning for a supercharger lol
24. Hi all, new to the forum but not VW or forums in general, this one just seemed to have the most info on corrados funny enough! I have done a search and I can't find much info about ABF conversions in corrados, is it the same deal as it is putting one in a mk2? Or is there slight niggly things that are different? Reason I ask is that I looked into supercharging a 16v for my mk2 and it became apparent that the easiest 16v route is the ABF. Cheers all!
