  1. im gunna change the sensors because the muppet who had it before me broke the spades and soldered a piece of wire onto them....whats the bigger one on the side of the rocker cover for??? do i need a gun to get it 6%BTDC?? im used to idle being 7-800 lol..ill adjust it up a little... im gunna rip it apart and clean everywhere with carb spary so i know its not blocked....ill get some sensors from the scrapper and then do it on saturday... ---------- Post added at 07:33 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:31 PM ---------- y is it called a valver??

  8. on my 1.8 16v, theres a screw thing on the side of the throttle body....the engine was lumpy revving up and idled at 1100....ive screwed it in and the lumpy has stopped and and its ideling at just under 1000... whats it for??? also what normal idle speed?? cant find anything on this

  10. cheers guys.....think ill have a look in a scrap yard first as i need the large on on the top next to the distributor, and both top coolant ones...ive took the wiring apart and found its not as bad as it looks, but i would like you guys to have a look before i do anything.... the wiring to the plug on the distributor is a easy fix..ive sorted it....but the wiring from the coil has me stumped....heres a diagram....wires are coloured..the bit on the bottom right are the water sensors.....also i have no oil temp reading on the dash...
  11. cheers ill get on it..i really hate it when ppl do this to wiring...if the sensor breaks, you get a new sensor..you dont start doing things like this....are these sensors cheap??

  13. these look new...number 2 and 3 were in loose..that wont be helping matters....but to me it looks like a clean burn but just was wondering about the crusty bits i dont know about the mult ones...these are just what i pulled out
  14. do these plugs look ok to you??..they look the right colour but have chrusty bits on them....tick over is fine but lumpy if i rev slowy...fine if i bilp it... also whats the little adjustment for on the TB??
  15. its got a way to go but heres some pics of now...im not digging the rims or the ride heght, but its not been mesed with to much so its a nice place to start modding her how i want it.. one of the funniest things ive seen.. tights on the lights..that crap came right off they were both like the left one

  19. found some funky wiring around and to the coil, im guessing its to do with the immobilizer being removed..it goes from the coil to the engine and into the loom..i need to know if i can remove it?? the car runs fine and central locking is fine.....i just dont want the wiring there if it ant needed... this one has some taped wires..on it a earth to the engine...the others go into the loom but it ant standard this one is on the side of the engine, it goes from the loom to a sensor... this is one from down between the coil and engine..looks like one wire has come ff something and this one, theres a plug on the right side of the valve..its a earth but for what??

  22. what a joke to do that lol..there off right been having a play...ive put a new battery out of the vec into the C and the battery out the C into the vec...plan is to let the vec charge battery's for me lol....ive been playing around some bits but not touched any wiring...... now when i turn the key..the oil light stays on and the bat light..start her up and all go out..i would of thought the bat light would stay on it it wasnt charging....if i turn all the eletrics on, i can hear strain on the engine, which i assume is the alternator...so its working??? why is it now working??? spoiler.....ive put it up manually and i can put it down via the switch, but it wont go up...is it the switch thats kak??? engine sounds sweet ticking over but lumpy if reved up slowly...
