  1. Hey all, I have been looking at the Spoonfed ones..... not come across these before. Defo interested, put me down for one please :) Cheers. Al.
  2. Yep that was me just before the roundabout :) P reg Mk3 black, figured it was you :) Best of luck buddy. Hope this works out for you :)
  3. The only issues I have had with mine really are battery and alternator. Can't remember the part name but it equates to the idle control oh and I can't switch my heater to 2 out of the 4 settings. But it blows on the wind screen so I am happy :-) Tbh I think I have been very lucky with my old girl :-)
  4. That would be me :-) Think you passed me on the 46 a couple of times too.
  5. You wouldnt happen to be the owner of a red mk3 that used to come through west bridgeford towards the A46 and flash a Corrado most mornings would you ?
  6. I always check this thread and giggle to myself as I have had alot of people in the short time I have been a Corrado owner comment on the car. I seem to get alot of people drive up really quickly and stick to the back of the car and then over take very slowly looking at the motor too. The best I have had though to date was when I was driving back from Nottingham town center over Lady Bay bridge I looked behind and there was a gorgeous DB9 in silver being driven by an older looking gent. I was checking the car out as much as I could from there rear view. After a short drive out we got to the Gamston Round about and he changed lanes and came along side. Obviously I am trying to get a good look at his car without looking like a drooling fan boy only to realise that, when I looked over, the gent in the car was pulling himself up out of his seat and was checking out MY car. I mean, really? My mrs was with me and couldnt believe it herself. I looked at him, he looked at me, nodded and looked back at the motor...... Just felt so nice that even people that can afford the world can appreciate the Corrado. Had a smile a mile wide for the rest of the day :) Cheers. Al.
  7. Cheers Clumpy, I get what you are saying bud. I kinda had the same thoughts but just needed to hear it from another Corrado nut :) I dont think I could break it though...... just no...... :( To many of the old girls being "retired" these days and it breaks my heart to see it. I understand why dont get me wrong, but I am a sentimental old git and just dont think I could do that to my car. Cheers Phil and Dave :) As with Clumpy I hear the advice and think it is maybe the better idea. I think I will look at getting the rusty bits sorted and get the paint cleaned up and maybe move her on..... or give her to the Mrs? Might soften the blow of me getting "another bloody car" :) Dave, thanks for the offer, would love to take you up on that as and when :) Now, G60 or VR...... thats for another thread though :) Cheers Al
  8. I am sort of thinking about a respray on my 2ltr 16v. My car is far from mint but mechanically she is pretty solid. I know that she has some rust on the drivers wing behind the mud guard and she is rusting on the tailgate under the spoiler around the number plate light holder thing (which is rusted to buggery too) Thing is, if a respray is to be about 2 to 3k and on top of that there are all the bits that would be better to source before the respray ( not sure what all the bits would be but am betting they would come to a few hundred quid ) Is it really worth it? I mean, for that price I can get my hands a on pretty clean VR6 maybe even a nice G60..... I dont want to let the old girl go and would love dearly to restore her a little, but 3k is a lot of cash to throw around. what are your views ?
  9. Sorry for the late reply Bill Lots of crazy stuff happening at home and just completely forgot mate :( It arrived safe and sound a few days ago buddy. Many thanks again for sorting this out on your time. Cheers Al
  10. They do look rather nice. Shame they can't be made to light up when the door is open :-) Are you planning a Storm version? Just wondering as that would be a nice touch for those that do not have a standard VR :-) Cheers. Al.
  11. Lol got to get the Bugger off first :) Cheers. Al.
  12. I take it the clips are still available? I was sort of thinking of going down the spoonfedtuning route of a new one piece scuttle in time, but really cant afford to do it right now :( Not sure if I want to try this now, knowing how my luck goes with this sort of thing :( Cheers. Al.
  13. I wonder if this is being put into place due to the amount of car moders that dont always stick within the rules as in fitting parts that are not passed for road use, but are for the race track...... I am not happy in the slightest to hear what the EU are trying to do here, but I have to say that I would be a little happier if I had to pay for a test that showed my car was modified but in the correct way and was safe so that all the little 1.1 Corsa boys had there death traps removed from our roads. The ones that give the true modifier community its bad name...... I see cars driving around, as I am sure we all do, and think "surely thats not legal...." For muppets like that this will spell the end. For those of use that take pride in our cars, it may mean more expense but at least we can say we did it right :) I know there is more to this that just that, but that was my first thoughts when reading what is going on. just my 2p Cheers. Al.
  14. The car has been checked over and the cat was definitly shot. This has been replaced and all is well, along with a new handbreak cable which was discovered to need replacing too...... it never seems to end does it  Many thanks for the pointers guys. Cheers. Al.
  15. Hey guys, I noticed the other day that my car was starting to sprout little green leaves from under the right hand side of the scuttle. So I tried to remove said plastics to clean out under it. I removed both wiper arms and removed the screw holding the drive side panel in place and expected the thing to lift away. How wrong was I...... I gave it a little more effort and it started to lift but seemed to be very well stuck down around the middle of this little piece. I felt underneather for bolts, couldnt feel any. It doesnt appear to be stuck to the windshield itself as I can, with much pain to myself, get my fingers under it. I feel that I may have broken a clip or something as the plastic will no longer snap back flush to the glass as it was before. :( Any advice on how to remove this would be welcome as I feel having a tree growing out of the front of the car may harm the mpg :) Cheers. Al.
  16. Just wanted to throw a post up regarding this shifter mod. I went over to Daves place yesterday as he had kindly offered to fit this for me as I am a spanner with the spanners..... All I can say is WOW. Once this was on the car and I took it for a drive, the gear change is far far more positive, it felt like a more modern VW tbh. Very very impressed, and for the money an absolute bargin :) Oh and I ended up with the handbreak tunnel fix kit too, which he also very kindly fitted for me and is awesome. In doing so though he discovered that may handbreak handle wasn't quite attached to the car as it should have been. This is being looked at as we speak at the local garage :) Just like to say many thanks once agaon to Dave for the work and his Mrs for the tea :) If anyone is unsure about having this mod done, I cant recommend it enough. Cheers. Al.
  17. So to add to the confusion, the car has just had its MOT. I advised the little man at the garage that there was a rattling coming from the underside somewhere near the cat. "not to worry, we'll look and let you know......" It passed. No noise coming from the cat, no rattle was heard..... ok, great and all that, but seriously 4 people have heard it but the mechanic/technician (what ever they are called these days) couldnt..... So, I take my nice new MOT over to my car, I start the car and guess what..... the rattle is there. I go and speak to Mr mechnician and he, rather than come over to hear it for himself, advises me that if it gets worse, bring it back..... Dont get me wrong, am happy the old girl passed. Was, if I am honest, dreading the result. but now I have an annoying rattle under my car that apparently isnt there. Grrrr! Anyway, I have done a little looking about and chatted with a friend and it turns out that the cat on a Corrado is a rather simple thing to replace. So I am going to order a new one soon. But, I understand that some of the old cars can be de-catted.... so to speak. My friend says mine is at an age where the law changed. Just wondering if this is the case before I go ordering parts and stuff. Is this the case ? Are there such things as performance upgrades for the cat? She's a K plate which I believe was 92/93. Once again, over to you :) Cheers. Al.
  18. Good answer.... I like answers like that :-) Please tell me your signature is a car sticker :-) Cheers. Al.
  19. Hey guys, I find myself in need, once again, for the advice of this fine forum. I started my car today and heard a rattle from under the car. Tap the throttle a little and as the revs drop, the noise gets louder for a few seconds. Now, having had something similar happen to my little Ibiza some time ago, I am fearing its the cat :( When I looked under the car, I couldnt see annything but the noise did seem to be coming from the front bulge in the exhaust. So, I am asking, do you agree that this could be/is the case? What replacements would you recommend? Any idea of a price for a genuine part? I ask about replacements as the first on that I bought for me Ibiza was quite cheap at around £90 but was rubbish.... me car whistled all the time. A genuine VW part which I went for in the end was over £400 :( so, over to you guys :) Cheers. Al.
  20. Hey mate, Thanks for looking, I have had an offer already before I read this, but thanks loads buddy. Cheers. Al.
  21. Hey guys, I have had the misfortune of breaking off the rear washer nozzle. After a little checking, I have obviously discovered that this is part of the whole motor assembly. Can the nozzles be replaced ? I have seen plenty of replacement motors on ebay, but if I can just get a replacement nozzle, this is bound to be cheaper. Any advice welcome guys. Cheers. Al.
