Hello guys i need a little bit of help, i came out to my car this morning to find that my drivers side footwell was soaked through. i automatically assumed it would be a heater matrix issue or something along those lines. however i have check and my coolant level seems to be excactly the same  Ive had a little look around and the door seals look all in tact and i cant see any major issues its not like we had a massive downpoor either as usually my sunroof would leak (a problem i need to fix soon). the only thing i could find was the gromit sealing the hole for the bonnet release cable was a little out, i have pushed it back in now and not had time to dry the interior and test but im not certain that the gromet was the issue. Is there anywhere you guys would reccomend me checking, that can cause footwell flooding drivers side?? Another small issue i had that doesnt bother me to much but i couldnt see the point in making an extra thread for it, is that my windows cant be opened and closed at the same time?? and when i use my lock the total closure only closes the window a tiny bit not the full way, i presume this is timing issue and can only be sorted through the ecu?? i have vagcom but no idea if/how i could use it to sort this problem. any advice would be greatly appreciated :) cheers lads :)

Jeeze mate that must have been a little bit scary, where did you get your kit from?? as i have just seen on ebay this kit http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VW-Corrado-Mk2-Golf-Uprated-Headlight-Wiring-Loom-/320449647118?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item4a9c49920e i dunno if anyones used it or if i should trust it?

Okay awesome. Thanks smee ill bare that in mind and will have to invest soon :). Does anyone sell a good set up loom with waterproofed relays?? Sent from my GT-I9000 using Tapatalk 2

Thanks guys :) Okay thats a little more promising to hear. How much are the new switches and looms roughly??
-
Okay so should i be worried about driving untill I've fixed it as my switch is getting fairly warm atm is that the first sign??
-
Hi guys I am new to corrados and i always hear about uprated headlight lumes and warm headlight switches on this forum. (more worryingly i just read the sticky above about dashboard fire prevention :/) anyway due to all of this ive had a little worry and felt my headlight switch while driving and thought thats realy ----king hot. the sitcky i read said that you can attach a fuse to the loom to stop the wire from failing and causing a fire, is this the same for late switches aswell?? im also wondering about uprated headlight looms what do these do?? are they a safer alternative to cutting in my own fuse?? i got worried about it all today when a headlight went in my car and i notice they are very dim and i was thinking if i buy a bulb from halfruads, there usual high power xenon jobbys would drawing this power through a "crap" loom cause over heating?? I may sound like a right worrier however i lost my last car to a dashboard fire and i dont want lightning striking twice. and to see the scene in this poor quality picture again :( any information would be good thank you

Hi guys i know this question gets asked alot and it is a pain, however no matter how hard i look round i cant seem to find the information i want. basically im thinking of going low on my vr however i dont want to go down the coilover route. i just want to buy springs and dampers for 2 reasons. 1- im cheap and spending half as much for a decent set of shocks and springs over a decent set of coilys sounds good. 2- all i hear is that coilovers are harsh and to get anything with good ride quality you have to fork out and they sieze up fast as anything. ive posted in the sticky with no real response i just want to know if anyone has gone low without coilovers on vr6 and how low?? it seems that most kits only go to 40mm on a vr except for fk who do a 60/40. im not so sure im going to be content with 40mm lower i think it will still be looking a little high for me. however weitec and kw (2 brands im interested in) do a 60mm drop for the 1.8-2.0?? both stating an axle wieght of Front - 925kg Rear -710kg now i may sound stupid here, but would these not fit and work fine on the vr6?? or is the extra weight so much that the suspension couldnt handle it?? and why do these reputable companys say only 40mm lower on the vr6?? is this because if it was any lower it would spoil handling?? Essentially i would love some pictures of your cars lowered 40mm and 60mm and any storys on these kits?? and any advice on the matter off the 60mm kits for the lighter cars on a vr? im a complete begginer on the subject and all help would be appreciated thanks

okay so im thinking of a little drop but not with coileys all i ever hear is that they are to stiff and to get anything good you have to fork out a bomb. so im planning to get new dampers and springs, first of all has anyone got anything to say on the best manufactures for a vr?? the main thing im trying to work out is what drops best? atm my front ends a little dipped as the top mounts have gone so sus is coming up through the strut :/ im running a 90mm splitter and was just wondering how low people have gone and still been practical. i.e can slowly go over a speed bump??
-
Yeh mate its midnight blue, im getting some paintwork done soon as a i have a few dodgey spots with little rust bubbles and stone chips that im not happy about. i know from a practical point of view the 90mm is hopeless, however ive had low cars before and im used to be extra cautious on speed humps and curbs and i just preffer the look i think it improves the front end i really like the old duckbill spoilers you got on the golfs aswell :). haha i know i was dead please with the results however it takes alot of grafting i would have used sand paper however i had none to hand, i would reccomend not using something as abbrassive as the wire brush i used though as it has left me with a lot of work to get it down to a smooth polished finished :). and thanks portent, dont worry i know its really good being on the forums as i have already found a member nearby who i shall be going and getting a fuel tank from tommorow along with a few other goodies ive had my eyes on.

Hello my names sam and basically i thought i would start a little thread about my first corrado and first ever v-dub. basically i have loved corrado's for a few years now and ive always wanted one and i nearly brought a valver a year ago but money issues stopped me. however a few months back now a mate of mine whos a dealer got this lovely vr6 part ex and he offered me a deal i couldnt refuse, so now im the proud owner of my first corrado. she has 180k on the clock which seems alot however it had full vw service history up to 130k and privatly serviced since and she drives like a dream. heres how she looked when she first arrived on my drive: In the couple of months i have owned her i have started getting her tidied and done a few subtle modifications, and fixes. mechanically all that has gone wrong so far is a dead battery, a leaking water pump and i replaced the exhuast system that was a little corraded for a nice stainles 3 box jetex system. so far all i have done in the way of visual tweaks is install an fk badgless grill and a 90mm splitter rather then the pants 50mm. heres how she stands now. A couple of weeks back when the weather was good i decided i would give the car a proper clean included my rather tatty engine bay, i was fairly annoyed at how dirty my inlet manny looked so i started to clean it and found that with alot of elbow grease and effort i could get a good polish up, using simply a wire brush and an abbrassive strip. im sure this has been done before however for anyone interested this was the result. i was really please with the results and i reccomend it as a simple clean up for anyone :). i have a few more plans for the car in the future which i shall keep you informed about however atm the cars of the road on my driveway untill i can get it fixed after someone lovingly did this to my fuel tank :( so now i need to get a petrol tank :(
-
well im also interested in the tailgate aswell, mines corroded through near the rear window and it will only keep coming back. im sure the fuel tank is not a massive job to remove and ide be happy to take the parts of myself?? as im not a million miles away?
-
hey sorry about the late reply. i was wondering if this is still going or if the rest has been sold on ebay?? im just looking for a vr6 fuel tank and maybe that eyebrow spoiler if its still available mate thanks

Hi My car has a few panels with poor paintwork and i thought before forking out for an expensive paintjob i would try to buy a few panels and parts in moonlight blue (colour code - c5m) If anyone's breaking a moonlight blue rado with good body work i would be interested in: - bonnet - passanger side Wing - and tailgate. Thank you Sam Sent from my GT-I9000 using Tapatalk

Door handle repair kit..........THEY ARE NOW AVAILABLE
sharpy-vr6 replied to daves16v's topic in Suppliers Forum
If you havent been reccomended enough. :) Ide like to just say thanks the part was perfect and is most definatly 100 times more robust then the old mechanism. also you where very easy to deal with and quick to deliver mate :). only problem i has was a little with the instuctions there where very clear except they didnt tell you how to remove the door handle, i know it sounds stupid but i can see some heavy handed clarkson like individuals damaging cables in the proccess. but the part is sound and works lovely, fiddly to change but ide say it was worht it i cant see it breaking again Thanks again :) -
Today i saw an 'M' Reg blackberry corrado coming down thomas lewis way southampton about 11 o-clock anyone here??

when i brought the car it was a little dodgey (because the clip used to secure the outer cable had snapped) and i tried to use it the other day and the cable snapped completley luckily i managed to pop the passengers side up and remove the girll with no damage done and reach in to work the mechanism. ive bought a new cable at the not so cheap cost of £41 from my local vw garage and hopefully i should have enough time after work today to install it :)
