  2. Only me, Made some progress now and am hoping all the looms will be ready to post off by the weekend, wife dependent of course. Man, that girl can give me work. I've had 7 people make contact about payment so far and would like to get everything 'in place' before the weekend. If you would prefer not to pay til the new year then I can live with that. However I could really do to with the money for Christmas myself but I understand and would rather you said than just left me guessing. I hope that sounds OK??? Cheers Zak
  3. Junkie- Nice one, be in touch with you in the new year. Corradude- Tis done. Everyone else- I'm at the stage now where the looms will start to come together and am expecting them to be finished by the end of next week. If people are wanting to send cheques to me then I'm happy to take them. If you could PM me and I'll give you my address and so on. Cheers Zak.
  4. jamin- yeah that's cool I'll put you down. junkie- not sure about skipping the Q but they should be all done soonish. You use the existing lplug for the triggering of the relays but you only need a small amount of current. how shot are your electrics????? PM me.
  5. I would prefer a cheque really but paypal at a push. I will ask for payment when they are ready to post out or almost ready then I can let cheques clear etc. As for how long, I'm hoping to have 5 to 10 ready for the weekend but I will know more over the next few days, the wife has jobs around the house then I should got alot of the work done tonight. I would really like them all done by next weekend although some have asked for delivery after Xmas.

My boss keeps giving me funny looks and there are bits of wire all over my desk.
  7. junkie- after Christmas is cool. I'll put you down. Who else is keen to wait til after Christmas??????? I'm really busy at work and am trying to got them done but finding time this week is difficult, although I am expecting to have a few ready for the weekend still. KADVR6- I'm glad you're still happy and thanks for the kind words. Again, appologise if I'm keeping folk waiting. Will do my best to get them done soon.
  8. The cost will be the same as per the others( I can't take any more off as it won't be worth me doing it ) and I'm beavering away with them now and hope to have some finished before weekend but not sure yet. I should get most done before Xmas. Will do
  9. maxximus-----yes that will be fine but please don't everyone ask as I've just shelled out a s**t load for parts. Owen VR6 i will add you to the list and let you knoe when they are ready.
  10. The parts arrived yesterday( ***king post office) Will get started tonight. I'll leave this group buy open to anyone else who is interested. Be in touch again once I've got the first few done I'll go by the list on the first page and those who have provided me with connectors. Cheers.
  11. BadMeatPies( make me chuckle)- I'll put you on the list. vwdeviant- I'm good for the money thanks, I'll collect before postage. I'll do checks or paypal.
  12. I guess so but you don't have to. I've got fat stubby little fingers and I can get the loom plugged in OK. The thing is the dealers don't have any, so if you can find them then I'll fit them to the loom for you. Hopefully here is a pic of the plugs and the ones shown are for 'critical mass' if he still wants?
  13. Anyone had any look finding any of these OEM plugs yet? I know I promised a pic, It will be done tonight and I'm ordering the parts tomorrow so please let me know before then if you change your mind.
  14. In my opinion PROVR6 there is no advantage to having the OEM plugs. people say it's difficult to put the spade connectors into the back of the headlight and I agree but not £20 worths. The best way to fit the loom is to take the headlights out so it's actually not that difficult. I guess it looks prettier aswell.
  15. Hi davidwort, to answer your question, NO!!!!!! You are using one relay to power just the main beams. The cable that will be carrying is: Power =Volts x Amps Amps = Power/Volts Amps = 200/12 Amps = 16.67A Therefore, the 40 Amp cable and 30 Amp relays are more than capable of handling the Current. Hope that helps and tomorrows lesson is History!!!!!!! However be careful not to melt the reflectors of the headlights as it will get very hot in there if you're not doing 100mph(which is highly illegal) for cooling. the difference the loom makes negates the need for the mega bulbs in my opinion but my loom will take it. Pic's of headlight plug tomorrow as I've only just got home sorry.
  16. Hi there, I'm away now til Wednesday, so thanks for answering the questions to those who did. The looms are easy-ish to fit. The instructions are clear and precise and should be within car owners capabilities. I'll update the front list when I get home and crack on with making the looms. Cheers
  17. Quick reply, the Passats are the ones from around 88 - 91 the B35 type ones. It is a square plug. Just snip away I only need the plugs and the rubber inserts from the back. CORRADUDE I sorry!!!!!!!!!!!!! Never was any good with sprelling. Will put a pic up after the weekend.
  18. The good thing about the 3 relay loom is that 2 of the relays control the headlights individually so if a rely goes( as they do sat in the area under the bonnet) you only lose one of your head lights. also all the looms I do are plug and play and require no cutting or soldering and you can revert back to the old loom at any time, if wish. vwdeviant had the last 2 OEM plugs that where available to me at this time. Sorry to any others who wanted them. I will keep trying to find but I'm not sure the extra cost is worth it.
  19. The OEM connectors are a real hassle to get hold of. I just bought the last 2 from the factory this morning. I'm happy to fit them if you provide them though. They are fitted to older Passats and some Seats. If you know of any other places to get them I'll give you more discount. They are £6 each and the terminals that go on the loom are 70p each and you need 8. That makes it £17.60 more expensive than £56, which makes the loom £73ish and I feel uncomfortable asking that for a loom. Even though it's worth it. I have heard people having trouble when you take the headlights out but be serious how often do you envisage taking the headlights out?????? I took mine out to fit the loomand that was the only time, I will agree it is a little fiddly but not to the point of rage. I'll also fit the loom for free if you come to the house. I live in the Telford area.
  20. PM me a pic of what you want and I'll let you know if I can help. Also I've started a new thread in the Group buys section, if some one could put a link from here to there that would be cool. Can I count the 3 people who showed interest here in the new thread???
  21. Happy to taking orders for looms for 2013 The looms that are now available are 3 relay type. This gives an individual relay for each headlight and 1 for both main beams. And questions I will be happy to get back to you as 73 pages is too much for anyone to read, lol.
  22. To be honest I'm a bit of a non geek and am scared of making a balls up of it but will try and sort that out. Thanks for the advise, I hate computers.
  23. If you are serious and willing to wait at least a few weeks please PM me and post a reply here ,this will give everyone a gauge of the interest. The looms take about 3 hours to make and there's only me and I've got to fit a bathroom at the mother-in-laws soon. I've done a few group buys for these and other VW headlight looms and always get let down by a few folk. I'll have shelled out for a load of parts and don't want to be stuck out of pocket. I know people out there have also been let down buy loom makers, this is why I won't ask for payment until the loom is ready to post. I'm an aircraft electrician by trade and have made well over a hundred looms for VW crappy headlights. I offer a long guarantee and the loom comes with instructions and fitting kit. Cheers
  24. Hi there, The bit sticking out is the side light cable for the off side. I will try and get some more headlamp plugs. Yes you need to use the car side of the plug as a trigger and yes I use spades The female side is part of the headlight itself. If I get an order for over 10 I will do a group buy and discount (it'cheaper for me to buy the stuff in bulk and I'm happy to pass that on. Spread the word and If the interest is there I will start a new thread. Any Q's just ask.
