I'll take a pair please without circlip. Thanks Dave

Great work! Hope they work out long term as it's these solutions that help keep our cars on the road. I've been working on my own solution and just last week got it to work but it's not as straight forward as just swapping out the bushes. Making up the tie rod is easy but having to do other changes makes it not really viable as a solution for the masses.

I've got the original matrix out of my car if you need to compare dimensions?
-
Why not leave the end cap off, can't see it doing much unless it's there as a bottom locator?
-
Yeah that's the one that almost stumped me, I'll be honest it wouldn't matter much if you had to break that clip to separate it, there's plenty of others to hold it together.
-
Done it! You have to work your way around inserting a small flat blade screwdriver as per the photo (don't go mad or you'll break it) and using a bigger flat blade screw driver to separate it at that point then insert a 2p coin or similar (we all have millions of those) to keep the joint open. Work your way around, the coins do fall out and sometimes the gap closes back up but keep going and you'll get there. Try to pull the joint further open as you go around. There is a clip further inboard, see finger pointing photo. Good luck and be gentle.

So I attempted to unclip the first one and broke it, see photos, gives you an idea how it unclips. Be very careful, I will be now.

My old gasket was knackered and is only on the inside. I have a new one which is about 13mm thick. Not expensive from Heritage.
-
I'll be attempting exactly this at the weekend, will let you know how it goes.
-
Same to you and thanks again.
-
Ok, where would you like to meet up?
-
Yes good holiday thanks. I can meet up on Thursday around 5pm? I'll be coming from my workplace in Notts.
-
Apologies for the delay, hope you had a good Easter. I can meet up this coming week or week after, will be around 5pm if that suits?
-
Ok no probs, I'll be in touch after Easter to arrange. Thanks.
-
Starbucks is good with me. I'm away for Easter so will be after that if you're OK with this?
-
That's a fair distance from you and much closer to me at M1 J25, happy to collect from you or meet up? Hope you're feeling better soon.
-
Yeah look ok to me, thanks for posting. Drop me a PM with your address and any convenient days to collect.

Thanks

Yes please.

I'll take these pending photos of the inside if that's OK? Thanks Dave

See photos of the JP pump, they must have changed the housing for both 3 and 4 bar pumps and done away with the screw fixings. This one has markings on the housing for a 4 bar pump according to their website which is the one I ordered. My VDO sender looks like it will fit ok. Just remains to be seen how long it lasts but I will be rebuilding my old housing as a backup.
-
Crikey that's bad! Had to have another look at the top cap on the one I have just for piece of mind and it's all good. I've ordered the 4 bar JP pump today for delivery tomorrow and like you I'm going get hold of another pump to fit in the spare housing I now have. I'll report back with my findings and some photos so you can make your own mind up on the JP pump. I didn't go with the Lucas pump as it seems too cheap.

That pump is the 3 bar version, the 4 bar version is as per the Heritage site. https://www.jpproducts.uk/products/fuel-pump-with-housing-1h0919651q-1h0919051ah-1h0919651q.html https://www.jpproducts.uk/products/fuel-pump-with-housing-1h0919651p-1001736-1028808-1047280-1h0919051-1h0919051ak-1h0919651k.html

Great, thanks. Do you have a link for the valve?
-
Cressa, I did see this listing as I know you have suggested Lucas before but it doesn't mention the operating pressure.
