Mine arrived yesterday!! Dont think I'll be waiting a month to get em on somehow...
-
Well good luck with it all, I dont think I'll be getting mine fitted for a month or so, so look forward to hearing about how good they are once you have fitted yours!! :)
-
Nice one! Let us know how you get on. SKF is what came up online when I had a look at ecp website. Shame you're so far away, otherwise would have loved to see the process (and possibly get a hand with fitting! ;)

I've just done a bit of checking and I'm hearing exactly the same as you regarding the changes in branding. I've just ordered a set of Weitecs too! :thumbleft: As for the other bits...dont really know where to start! New topmounts will definately be bought, do I NEED to change the other bits (powerflex) that you have mentioned? Are you fitting yours yourself?? Cheers

Weitec do sound pretty good, whats the best price you've seen them for? Not heard of Lemforder before but ecp website says they are not compatible with the VR? I'm sure I've read on here that the original top mounts from VW are the best ones to use??

Interested to hear which coilies you've decided on?

Hi all, I will shortly be replacing the standard (I think) suspension on my M plate VR6 and had a question that I cant find the exact answer to on here. I have seen a lot of posts mentioning top mounts, bearings, various nuts etc in relation to the fitting of coilovers but what I wanted to know is really a list of what parts should I buy (change) at the same time to ensure a good ride (in addition to the coilover kit)?? Cheers all!

Hi all, just to let you know I got the connectors today from ebay and they work perfectly! :) Thanks guildmage!!

Thanks, sounds like just what im after!

Hi all, A quick question for you. I want to fit some speakers to my rear parcel shelf instead of using the standard rears. My question is if i want to use the existing wiring to the head unit do I have to cut the rear connectors off as some have suggested on here? Is there a way I can just extend the wires without having to cut off the connectors? Thanks!

Thanks all for the comments. Had a look over the weekend, the big screw was there in the lower cowling as suggested by Jim (also had one of the other ones in too). Managed to wriggle the cover off fairly easily after removing those. Yes the metal pin had come loose, managed to slip it back in and gave it a few taps to hopefully keep it in place!! Thanks again all! :thumbleft:

Quick q, do I need to remove the steering wheel before I can remove the lower shroud?
-
Thanks guys, will have a look for the pin which I'm assuming should be on the floor somewhere?

Hi all, Wondering if anyone could help me out. I just got in to my VR and was reversing out of the garage when I noticed that the steering wheel position was not fixed. I tried moving it up and down to click it into place but to no avail! Any ideas what the reason for this could be? What should I check? Something that can be fixed easily?? For the record (not sure if it is relevant) the car has a momo steering wheel on it which was on when I bought the car. Thanks in advance!

Is this still available? Thanks.

interested if still available..

I'd take a set if anyone could help/recommend a fitter in the London area (pref NW)?
-
Still for sale??

amazingly completely rust free!!! look out for an ad in a classified section near you! lol

I think you guys are right, just sad at the prospect of it going after having had it for over 13 years!! :(
-
To be fair I dont think there is anything I want to swap out at the moment (although the 16v does feel a shorter shift than the VR but not sure if that is normal). Was thinking of holding on to it for things like the sunroof, lights, spoiler etc but I think you're right doesnt really make sense to keep hold of it for those alone..

Opinions please folks!! So here is my dilemma. I've recently purchased a dark burgundy pearl VR6 (M reg) which is in pretty mint condition and I am very happy with!! :) ..part of the reason for this purchase was because my 16v (K reg) also in dark burgundy pearl was showing a few signs of age and I thought it would be easier for me to buy another than to sort it out. Now I currently have both cars and the question is what to do with the 16v?? The car itself has just jit 150k but is running fine. Sailed through its MOT on saturday and is ready to roll. Sunroof works fine as does the spoiler. The main issuues are some scratches to the paintwork, a slight dent in the rear panel and an intermittent leak in the rain (must be a seal or blocked pipe). In addition the car has Jamex springs and exhaust fitted. My options are: a) Keep the car as a donor - but I cant help feeling its a bit too good for that! Also not sure how much of a 16v can be used on a VR6? b) Sell it - not sure what I would get for it? c) Break it - I'm no breaker and would mean people coming and having to take the bits they were in need of - not ideal. thoughts please????
