  1. G75 charger !!! shame it's worth twice what I paid for my car lol don't suppose anybody wants to buy a slightly abused kidney?

Don't suppose you know what kind of increase in performance you cAn expect from this Over a stage 4/5 g60 charger? Would it be similar just without the worrys of destruction?

  2. I have a new nexus 7 under the tree waiting for me and its by far the best tablet i have used to date,(hence my repeated hints to the wife to get me one) and even the older nexus 7 which i have used alot is a quality item.

We brought the kids a Archos Titanium 101 each for christmas though and we have had a little play with them and seem to be a quality item. The screen is a 10.1 inch jobbie and i think the resolution is an IPS panel 1280 x 800 which isnt comparable to a nexus but its still a fairly decent screen, has a HDMI output, expandable memory so we brought the 8 or 16 gb model, cant remember but was the smaller of the options and then just spend £40 on a couple of 32gb mini sd cards. has front and rear cameras and runs on android jelly bean duel core processor, 1gb ram etc etc .

They are metal cased and feel well made which is one of the reasons we got them for the kids as accidents happen. We were going to get them nexus 7 each but decided that for how much they would appreciate the bigger screen of the archos this trumped the performance advantage of the nexus.

£160 from staples, pretty much the same prices online too.

    details found here http://www.archos.com/gb/products/elements/titanium/archos_101titanium/index.html

I will admit though, if it was for me id have the nexus every time

    Hope this helps

  3. The listing says its for the outlet only, i assume that means you dont get the silicone pipe, jubilee clips, o-ring for between the charger and outlet or the sleeve to join to intercooler pipe?

Also there is no pic of the bolt that holds it onto the charger, can i assume this doesnt come with either?

  4. The search is over!! I now have an idle screw on its way to me so no more whistling G60 :)

Ben, also try calling John Mitchell Racing and see whether he has any tucked away anywhere that he's willing to sell.

Thanks for this! Spoke to Peter at JMR and the man is a fountain of knowledge and also has built a 20v G60 just like im going to attempt. An invaluable contact to have. A 5 min phonecall turned into 40mins of various g60 conversation. Beers are on me next time we meet!

Thanks all who helped in the search for the idle screw.

  5. Hi Ben, I'm sure Owen G60 mentioned a supplier for these when we were at Stealth. Might be worth PMing him.

I've had a couple of chats with him now about various things and I think he mentioned a company which I contacted but unfortunately they didn't have any left.

Cheers though, any help is greatly appreciated.

  6. Have you got a sample ? May be able to find something at work, and I live in Banbury to

Thanks for the help, unfortunately I don't have anything as a sample as mines completely missing.

I was told that the MK2 Golfs had the same Idle adjust screw as the 1.8 16v C. Dont know if it is the same for the G60 though...

If it is the same then I have an idle screw from my 1.8 16v...

You have a pm, it's certainly worth a try.

  7. Its not going through my insurance , the lad who did it actually knocked on my door to tell me he had done it , i made him ring his insurance and he has already admitted liability for what he has done , i was under the impression that my insurance wouldnt change as i was sat in my house wen it happend and had nohing to do with it

As far as i know up to now my insurees dont know about it , its all going through aviva ( his insurer) i did think about taking cash for him but he didnt looks like a cash strapped kid !!! I had to google his work phone number for him and let him ring of my phone so he could tell them he was going to be late !! Had to do the same for his insurance aswell because he had no credit on his phone !!!

Iv got to get a quote at weekend then there phoning me back on monday when iv chosen a spray shop to get a quote from

Let us know how it works out, If your insurance company is completely sidestepped and it doesnt effect your premium can you give the lad my address and tell him to scrape the drivers wing a touch, could do with a free touch up :)

Seriously though, at least the lad owned up. Many a dishonest driver out there that would have driven away. The family Citroen C4 has gained a 8inch red stripe on the passengers door where somebody did something similar and was left as a suprise for us . :censored:

    Fingers crossed for you mate.

  8. Hi All,

Im looking for a G60 throttle body idle screw, part number 037133432. Spoke to VW and initially they were not too helpfull but got a return call today giving me the part number but they said the part was discontinued in 2010. If anybody has one with the o-ring id be happy to swap it for some cash.

Im aware the chances of me finding a new one are slim but as long as its in good condition then i will be happy. Not ventured out to the breakers yet because weekends are spent with the family as i work away at the min and the wife doesnt particularly think walks around scrap yards constitute as time well spent :)

    Cheers

  9. About time i posted the results of the rolling road.

Maximum BHP achieved on the day 167.9

Maximum Torque achieved on the day 171.4lb ft

Maximum speed reached in test 123.7mph

Rather impressed for what is a fairly standard 21 year old car. The car is running a 68mm pulley, G-Werks chip, boost return delete, intercooler to throttle body metal bahn brenner pipes, cat back sebring exhaust and a K&N panel filter in stock airbox.

A couple of issues have been identified, mainly that there is a small crack in my boost pipe which goes to the ECU, a very small split in one of my intercooler pipes covered up by the jubilee clip and my car has no idle screw (thanks Owen G60 & JMC) which causes not only a vacuum in the throttle body it also creates a loud whistle which can become annoying after after a while. Not sure what witchcraft the car uses but its never skipped a beat and idles brilliantly........... i can only assume my ISV is doing some serious overtime.

Looking for a idle screw, my local VW are not being very helpfull and the copy of ETKA i had doesnt work anymore so cant get the part number myself. Not had a chance to go looking round breakers or anything and to honest.

Anyway, thanks to everybody who had a butchers at the car and pointed out the said things above, they will be changed in the near future and the car should be running sweeter than ever.

Hers my RR graphs and a video of the first run, thanks Mic-vr for the use of your gopro camera :thumbleft:.

Really pleased with the results and know i have a solid base for future plans with the car.

  10.

Nice to meet you Ben and it sounds like you've got an interesting project planned for sure!

Interesting indeed, unfortunately interesting projects usually cost far to much, are nothing but a pain to do and then break down all the time :p

Indeed it was good to meet you too, one day i hope to have a corrado which is half as nice as yours. Yours looks very OEM+ :thumbleft: its very cool!
