Right have just come back from the nurgburgring!!!!! Oh my god it is amazing! Anyone who hasnt been who is into car must go!! Unfortunately my car did not come with me :( So.... I need some advise. Any help will be more than welcome Im gonna be preping my 16v for the next trip to the ring. He is the list of bits I think I should do: upper and lower front strut braces rear strut brace. better shocks and suspension. better tyres (r888?) bucket seats (anyone know how to fit them? do I weld corrado subframes to them?) seat harnesses. Samco hoses full service Oil cooler (will this help with a 16v) back seats removed. Do you reckon these changes will turn it into a nurgburgring weapon? I have no intention of timing my laps. I just want to be fully prepared and safe. OR I have been thinking about trading in my 16v for a g60. :confused4: Do you think a g60 would be a better option to use on the ring?

Well every 1 eles has answered this question for you, but yeah it is a VR converstion. And the pictures were taken, outside Dorset body works, down linch lane in lanhouse, do you know it? Yeah, i fell in love with tom's and had to get my own :D Nah i'm not going :( wish i was though. Maybe on the next one :D Just had a look at your C, very nice  So, how do you know Tom? I have met him through the other Tom. The one who has moved to Staines. Small world.
-
I thought it was only G60 or valver, I maybe wrong :brickwall: (most probably am) Think you're right, afaik VW never did a Nugget VR, this is only the second one I have seen and the other was a conversion posted on here. Pity really, yellow Cs look the nuts. :luvlove: Yeah the one in the pic is a conversion. Cool to see a nugget vr6, It owned by tombell999

Bloody hell! Another corrado in the group! You coming with Tom to Nurgburgring tomoz? Your is pretty similar to mine.
-
I has always wondered why this is. G60s (especially in good nick) seem to be getting harder and harder to find.
-
you never see the G60 being labelled a future classic etc, never on tele (fifth gear wanted a VR end of), this is all for one reason - THE VR6 IS A BETTER SPORT COUPE, turns more heads and puts a bigger smile on ya face!! goes well when actually driving (not stop start situations) and sounds like a car should sound!! How does it turn more heads? A late G60 looks the same to a casual observer as a VR. And it may put a bigger smile on YOUR face but it doesn't on mine. By your reckoning every car should sound like a V6? So a ferarri V8 sounds rubbish???? A G60 also sounds like a car should sound too... if it has four cylinders and a supercharger. And just becuase the motoring press label it as a future classic doesn't affect the way it drives. They just fixate on it because it's the biggest and most powerful engine. Not everyone cares what the press say anyway. So poo off. I gotta agree with Sonic. Ive got a 16v and I'm seriously considering going down the g60 route instead of the VR6. G60 just always seem to sit in the shadow of the VR6. Dont get me wrong, Ive driven Bananawhips VR6 and it is EPIC!!!! I do agree that the VR6 will be the future classic. I think thats down to the fact that it was the flapship model and all the the little niggly bits on the interior were ironed out by 1993. Theres just something about the g60, its the underdog but with alot of grunt. Also if you like working on your engine, there is a list of mods you can do. In a nutshell I would love to have both a g60 and VR6, but for the moment I think the upgrade will be to a g60. Would love to hear from any members who have had a 16v, g60 and vr6 and see what they say?

Just found out Scotts in Sloane Sqaure has gone............. 7 years ago!!!! :( RIP Wish I had kept the old sticker on the back of my car now.
-
Yeah I have been googling them. But cant get any contact numbers. hmmmm. Maybe they have gone
-
Hello, Does anyone have the contact numbers for this place? I cant seem to find it anywhere on the web. Just trying to do some research on my car. Thanks
-
Well lets try and make it happen.

....

Here is some pics of my whip on the way to GTI spring festival.
-
Yep, they are indeed. Really nice fit. You get a wider stance than you do with the bbs g60 wheels.
-
Another fantastic stereotype! I thought it was all about an old school range rover in black with tints.
-
I will keep my eyes peeled out for you mate. Always good to have a fellow dubber in the area. Funny enough my next door neighbour is massively into dubbs aswell. He has a mk1 golf gti and a mk3 golf vr6
-
Thanks Young dub. Its cleaned every week. I havent seen yours about? Were are you based in West London? Only one I have seen local is a standard green 16v in Teddington.
-
I had a look into their website but didnt help im afraid. My Car has alot of history from Scotts in Sloane Sq. Which in the 80s and 90s did alot of oettinger gear on the new cars (engines, wheels, kits etc) I will be calling them up and seeing if I can get some history. Also gonna try and find the old owners details from the 90s.
-
It's in Southampton, Used to be (and still kinda is) a Vauxhall specialist but they seem to own and love VW's now  That's what it's all about, take money from Clueless Vauxhall owners, and throw it at tuning mental 350bhp Golfs...sweet Im gonna be having a random day off soon during the week. You fancy heading down there again and getting them both dynoed?
-
Thanks for the into David. Just want try and get to the bottom of this oettinger engine possibilty.
-
I didnt realise it would be as low as that to start with David. Guess I was going on the readout on the knowledge base. We will see what happens. I will either be taking it to Surrey rolling road or another I have found just outside reading.

Right little update on things done to the car...... I have been trying to put right the little bits and pieces that VW seem to have got wrong the first time round. So changed the wipers to lupo GTI ones. Massive difference and would recommend it to everyone as the normal ones are poo! Also got to big up daves16v for supplying me with the bracket for my centre console that was flapping round all over the place. Also his door handle repair kit is spot on as well. So pretty much all the essentials are done on the car now. Next on the list is the engine bay. Unfortunately I'm not as handy as some of the people on here so wont be doing any sort of engine transplant. But I am hoping to end up with a very nice polished but original bay. Polished rocker has already been sourced. 50mm inlet is on its way. Im also planning on black glossing alot of the black plastic items (fan cover etc) not sure it will look tacky though  Has anyone on here done this? Also has anyone polished both inlet and rocker? Do you think it will look a bit OTT? I will also hopefully be getting some answers about my 'oettinger' engine. Gonna pop it on a rolling road in the nexty couple of weeks to see what the output is. Am I correct in saying a 16v is 136BHP standard?
-
did you get a realistic bhp reading or were you disappointed with the readout?
-
Where did you take yours again Tom?
-
Also how much do they charge?
-
Hi all, Can anyone reccomend a rolling road in these areas. I want to put my C on one to see what the output is? Im currently trying to get to the bottom of the misteries surrounding my Corrado. Possible Oettinger engine? :norty: If anyone could recommend one I would appreicate it. thanks
